When that visor flipped down you can see it In the eyes how pumped he was😂 bro they make a fan you can slap.on that bad boy to keep you cool. Will be very useful in the land down under!
I like the part where when you bend over the hard hat down not fall off even without the chin strap. I have the other Milwaukee & Kline hard hat and they both fall off your head. Good video and thanks for the demonstration. I am going to have to look into this
I preordered the Bolt 100 vented hard hat because I wasn’t keen on the chin straps. It fits really nicely. I also got the tinted visor for outside work. So far I’m impressed with it. You’re right though milwaukee can be hit and miss outside of power tools.
This is genius. I've been frustrated for years with juggling all the separate ppe/accessories and trying not to lose them. Especially frustrating when they conflict so I have to give up something to use a particular set of ear muffs or face shield. Picking one up today.
I run the Petzl vertex vented hard hat as across the ditch here a lot of the commercial builders are now requiring the climbers hard hats with chin straps to be warm at all times. I love it. It’s comfy and good. You can get the visors and a few other accessories for it similar to the Milwaukee one. Milwaukee seems to have run a better eco system for their stuff though as the half visor would interfere with the head lamp and doesn’t sit snug to your face. The full face shields though are the same deal. Can only run it with just that on there and need a pair of safety glasses underneath. It’s looking like this will be more and more the norm now as it’s been rumoured that worksafe are soon to mandate that specific standard and higher as the only types of hardhats allowed on sites. Which is good but going to be costly as my petzl retails for about $210 NZD at the suppliers
I’m a tree worker I’ve ran the Petzl before and it does the job, but i now run the Kask Spire and I feel like it’s a lot more comfortable … slightly heavier, but once you’ve got earmuffs and visor, it’s not noticeable
@@AddictedtoTools petzl and kask are both originally rock climbing helmets. The kask one is sold as a husqvarna helmet too. Whilst your at it you might want to check out the Protos integral ... it's seen as the Rolls-Royce in terms of arborist helmets
Ya, definitely. I was a little put off when I started seeing climbing-style helmets without the usual brim, but it seems like someone has done the research on this to transfer the safety features.
I got the protos with sena communication , linked to my phone , so i can answer it while im climbing a tree ,while i listen to music , it comes with the ear muffs and face shield , lights i wear around my shoulders , but i can mount a light on a clip that they make for it for a camera ..
My only concern is the added weight from all the attachments, some of my sites don't require hard hats and going in between - even with the standard hat - I notice the extra load on the neck by the end of the day. System looks great but check back in a month and follow up if your neck gets stiff 😂
The set up I have on my lid is just under a kilo and my necks fine that’s goggles and ear defenders that’s not the bolt system thou just takes some getting use to
What’s the weight like? I currently run a petzel vertex helmet as I do a lot of climbing work, I used to use a Kong (Italian brand) before that and both are good but price wise are both higher then the Milwaukee one it seems
Will you be uploading a video after a few weeks of use? Keen to buy one here in the UK depending on your opinion as my company provides hard hat, safety glasses and ear protection. Class video as always mate been watching you through my apprenticeship, come May ill be a year passed out 👍
Thanks John. I appreciate the feedback. I’ll definitely do an update in a few weeks. I’ve worn it all week so far and I’m loving it: I’m getting the other hard hat this week also so I’ll show that as well.
I hope they make one without the foam inside, save weight and it would be a lot cooler during hot summer days. Add some some ultra light ear muffs too, cause those look heavy. Id cut off the chin straps. If you dont have the chin strap attached and it gets caught in something you could take some serious damage. No thanks.. Also needs a 2 in 1 pencil/marker holder. If they can make one like that Id buy it in a heartbeat.
I don’t have to wear hard hats anymore but if I did this would be the way I’d go it looks and works great. I’d like to hear your thoughts a few weeks down the track
Thanks for the feedback Bradley. I’ve worn it all week so far. I’ll believe I can get the hard hat version now, so I’ll do another update video in a few weeks.
I brought one as soon as they were released in nz. Mainly because of the visor and head light combo. I mainly wear it at night when climbing power poles. I wear glasses so I hate any type of safety glasses. This fits the job perfectly. It’s a bit heavier than what I did have with the original Milwaukee hard hat light. This one is far better balanced as the batter for the head light is at the back.
In the places where these new hard hats are required. Guys are required to use the chinstrap at all times also. Ridiculous rule for most Of the trades. The dry wallers and painters stuck wearing this stuff blows my mind.
Hey mate. The normal price for a helmet(not hard hat) is around 150-200. I feel the accessories are reasonable as they are similar to what you pay singularly. So if you bought a normal helmet, glasses, ear protection and visor it would be a similar price
Most climbing helmets are in this price range once you include accessories. You’ll be paying close to $250 for a Kask Zenith or top of the line Petzl helmet.
@@AddictedtoTools in the UK, you can get a HSE Approved helmet for about £8 (probably $13AUD) glasses ear defenders ect get them all around the £5-10 mark, honestly I can see where your coming from but even strap helmets in the UK you can grab one for about £25 !

I recon Milwaukee took inspiration from petzl’s vertex helmet range. The helmet accessories look pretty similar if you’re comparing the two.

Does that work with glasses ? I wear those and the normal screen seems very tight to the face ( it should be ) and I was wondering if that would work.
