Great, I have the Makita's 3" & 6" and there one solid unit. As long as they are less expensive than the Malco's I can see them selling more. Although knowing the quality of Malco It is yet to see how long they last.
@@34doctor34 I have the malco ones I got like 5 years ago and never needed anything else. I have the little 4 position malco nut driver I use every day for the 1/4 driver. @@MarcoH72 The Klein has a skinny shaft and the "socket" tends to get hung up on things and falls off. It usually seems to happen when your up on a ladder. Malco has a better design.
Loved it Vince. While this solution won't change my job since I don't do metal or HVAC, but I can see the productivity improvement just by a better way to clean it.
Saw the video yesterday, ordered on the Home Depot delivery link, received same day, used for work today. Great product, not only was it easier to clean out the shavings but it also doesn't get clogged up as fast, I'm thinking they may have engineered it so the shavings don't get magnetized as often? Either way, 2 thumbs up 👍👍 Great review, thanks for the content. It helps me be more productive at work and for that I gotta give props.
Dude! You almost had me, but somewhere just before the 4 minute mark I started wondering why you weren't just using Malco or Klein flip sockets. Gotta say though, you did your usual outstanding job of making it sound like the innovative, cutting-edge engineers over at Milwaukee might have had an original thought. Good job!
Not difficult to clean debris out of regular magnetic sockets. Just need safety glasses, and compressed air. It is kind of annoying though and those new flip sockets are pretty cool. Sheet-metal and electrical tool manufactures. I’ve been making those for a while now.
they are nice for service thats about it tbh, the orginal malco hex chucks are really compact and hold the screws alot better for putting ductwork together, you just toss them once they get to gunked up
idk about the Milwaukee magnet on these reversible bits but the malco wouldn't be able to keep a 1-1/2" teks which sucks when I have to install a turning vane in a duct that has liner inside
I'm in Australia, so not sure about others regions, but Irwin have been doing these for a while now in different sizes. Have been using them for at least 2 years now for the exact same reason of getting frustrated with the build up of material on traditional types and then throwing them out
I prefer Dewalt for longevity and EASE of bit removal from their holders, unlike Milwaukee, but I've always had to order in bulk for this exact build-up issue and camming out ruins the bits. The color bands are nice and I'll be looking for this kit on my next run. Thanks Vince! 💫
Hey 👋 Vince I try to blow the metal shavings off the area before I pull the fasener off the screw and they are great for window treatments they go right through no problems @ VCG construction ✌🏻
Bro, just use a tweaker flathead screwdriver to clean out shavings. I use Dewalt pivot head nut driver (by far the best impact drivers). I can't see throwing those out.
That nut driver bro is a beautiful thing if you're a plumber we have what we call no hub and wide body bands that go to the pipe and that's exactly what we use to take the bands apart and put new pipes in without having to glue any joints. Absolutely love the nut drivers. What I would suggest is if they can have on the one key a specific poundage of torque maybe like 60 lb 80 lb and 120 This would become more efficient in our line of work as a plumber 💯🙌🦍 And bro why would you throw it away All you got to use is the same screw you're using the screw into the metal use the head of that to clean out the shavings and you're done in 5 seconds instead of wasting eight bucks on the nut drivers.
I usually just steal a roll of HVAC putty that they use on their bolt together seams. A little ball of that putty cleans out the nut drivers like new in about 10 seconds.
None of those new magnetic extensions hold up and you have to replace them constantly. It’s the same as the old except you can flip between sizes. That’s it
What I want to know is when did screws become fasteners? I agree that the metal shavings do clog the bits. But I prefer the bits made by DeWalt. They have a stronger magnet and can be clearly out with a small screw driver. Just my preference...
I thought everyone knew to use an air compressor to blow out the nut driver debris, it couldn't be any easier literally takes less than a second and good as new, now go grab your nut drivers back out of the trash.
Would be even nicer if they made a quick release that lets a collar slide a bigger size down over a smaller size. It would just need to be an internal and external hex on the smaller size then the bigger size is same size as the external hex.
just buy the malco bits they are better, and on top of that before i had the malcos i would roll a ball of butyl gasket, get it somewhat dirty and stick that into the bit repeatedly and it cleaned it well
Sounds like you forgot if your dentine fix 😂😂😂 But what you are missing is the flip drivers magnets wear out quickly and they don't fit the malco screws well and you get cam out there too
I bought these nut setters at home Depot before they had them on the pegs yet. But haven't used them yet the fitment is loose and are a bit girthy compared to malcos so they are on the back up for me. And would have loved these when I was a cable installer but not even malco was making them then.
Milwaukee did not invent that tool I’ve been using those for years. I do believe they were first invented by Klein I’ve been using them for almost 10 years
What I do to offset that issue.. I keep a pack of gum with me 😎😉.. if it becomes a problem, I chew a gum real quick and clean it out by pressing gum into it

From what he said it is a piece of junk like it too. I don't want a shallow bit. Too much wobble.
Kinda? It literally is the exact same as malco.

Ya been using Malco for quite a while. Not sure I’ve seen a 3/8” though.
Nobody tell Vinnie that Malco and Klein have been doing this for years. Let him think Milwaukee "solved" the problem 😂
I usually just steal a roll of HVAC putty that they use on their bolt together seams. A little ball of that putty cleans out the nut drivers like new in about 10 seconds.
Blow gun with a small tip at about 125 psi generally gets enough of the chips out when I do it.
I've used both and the Malco seats better and fits in tighter spots. And the bit holds onto the shaft more securely.
Can we say Malco? I have the Malco ones in my bag for years, now. But it's nice that Milwaukee is catching up 😂
I just put the pointed end of my fastener in the nut driver and hit the trigger to clean it out. 😂
Hasn't dewalt had that forbyears? Hard to find, but I've had one.
That is nice!
I’ve been using Malco for the past 3 years.
Nice! Thats a good idea. I also like the color coding they put on these and some of their other stuff. It’s so much easier for me to see.

The Klein magnet breaks after 4 to 5 months of daily use. Wonder how these will fare.

Just a point. You should be using the self tapping setting on the drill..
