After a year all of my questions are now being addressed. And I am to have a new therapist and i am grateful as she is young and idealistic. Its time to go to work whether its bp1 or bpd. I have a year of something terrible to recover . Thanks Very Much!

everytime I have a breakdown (I usually dont have breakdowns, its more like many thing happen and my brain doesnt give me access to these emotions and when another thing happens I just start to cry my soul out) I feel nothing for hours or even days after. I dont feel hungry just tired and exhausted. I cant feel happy or sad I just dont feel at all.

Its actually pretty clear cut. Bipolar disorder is basically days weeks and even months of depression and then the gears switch to mania. They two phases have to be extreme enough to impact the person's life.
Borderline personality disorder is much closer to narcissist personality disorder and Histrionic disorder in my opinion. Borderline personalities have a false self like Narcissistic personality types.
    Thanks for the video.

BPD is a terrifying disorder which unleashed havoc and chaos. It is one of the most painful things to experience and even professionals recognise this.

So if things happen in my life that are so life-changing, abusive and unexpected happen in my life, I take off. Running away from the home environment as young as kindergarten. Reporting the home conditions did nothing but get me into trouble with my parents

First off you are the most innocent looking and without saying the prettiest psychiatrist I've ever seen..and sorry for that but I'm bi polar manic depressive with partial personality disorder...so I have to say right now I apologize if my comment offended you but you knew I would apologize probably but your video is very informative and direct...i do have a question that I really need answered and I know that tbere are never any exact truths but we choose what will help us......and people like you are here to point lost and hurt people towards their pursuit of happiness...my question is what do I do when I add trauma from abuse and a memory that I remember getting my first set of stiches at 2 years old and I remember my mother holdinge on her hip when I was less than 18 months and I directly repeated a quote in front of my adopted father which caused a seperation between them and I remember it like it was yesterday

Hmm maybe the two are related. We never got a diagnosis, but I'm pretty darn sure my father has BPD, while I have symptoms of Bipolar, but not so much BPD.

It seems both are faces of a coin, there's so much similarity between BP and bpd .
Anyway treatment is almost same so shrinks focus moreon that

treatment is quite different for these two disorders!
bipolar disorder treatment typically involves medication to treat the chemical imbalance itself which causes the symptoms (mood stabilizers, antipsychotics) and CBT/cognitive behavioral therapy.
BPD treatment typically involves DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) and medications to manage symptoms, not the disorder itself, since there is no medication for BPD. if severe trauma is indicated (since trauma exposure is ONE major contributing factor to BPD) TF-CBT is recommended also.

@@theunseen3 does this mean BPD is generally worse as medication only helps some symptoms?

@@Ethan-ee8rv BPD is nothing like Bipolar.
The mood shifting in Borderline is closer to those that have Histrionic Personality disorder. They also have a false sense like Narcissistic types and many Borderline types lack empathy and seek attention like Narcissistic types. It's a personality disorder that probably needs deep therapy.
Bipolar is like major depression but it has a manic phase. So it can be weeks and months of a depression phase that then switches to mania. It's nothing like Bordeline so I don't know why this this is equating these two. I would prefer to see Borderline equated to Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Histronic because they have way more in common. False self..attention seeking..using moods to get attention etc.
So one is a chemical imbalance(depression..mania) the other is a personality disorder.

@@Taureantiger888 You have zero clue what you are talking about… I have seen peoples lives ruined with this condition. I’m narcissistic even though I literally hate myself every day??? And I hate attention… I have both but I’d say BPD is what almost killed me. Unmedicated, untreated BPD is a hell I wouldn’t wish upon anyone.

@@Ethan-ee8rv maybe actually read my comment before getting defensive.
I grew up with a mom with BPD so I know how destructive these people are.
All I said was that it's very different than Bipolar..not that it isn't severe.
