I had a 2004 STI for 10 years a 2015 STI launch edition for three now I have a 2015 F-150 Black EcoBoost. Needless to say I have been following your videos for a long time. Our trucks are very similar as I'm in the process of getting my fuel rebels in the bronze color. I've been looking at the kicker Solo-Baric downward firing small box that fits under the seat. But I'm definitely digging this. Thanks for all the videos and ideas you're giving me haha
Great minds think alike haha. Sounds like a very similar path I have been on. I definitely looked into other sub options that were available including the solo baric as well. I even went as far as the JL under seat option too. However at the end of the day, I found this to be the most discreet and simple setup for my application. I didn't want anything to hinder any useable storage space and this really fit the bill. Now that I have had it in the truck and have some time with it, I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Highly recommend!
I installed this myself thanks to your video. Not ez or fun. Then finally figured out the holes did not line up. Thank you ford. So then I had to jimmy rig it (used long screws at a great angle) and got it pretty secured. Took it to dealer for programming according to what you said in your video & they kept saying fourscan isn’t something dealers use, its for aftermarket parts not done at a dealer. I got charged $370 to program it & when I got my truck back I turned on a bassy song & didn’t notice a difference. Was about to go back in, but checked behind the seat first & the amp was hot (which makes me nervous about a fire hazard) and the sub was working. But literally couldn’t even barely notice a difference for over $1000! Junk
Interesting to hear of your experience. I am wondering if you got the correct part number as every hole lined up perfectly. Forscan is what all Ford dealers use, so if I heard that from whom you were dealing with, I would have taken my vehicle to another dealer. $370 is highway robbery to code that in. My guess is that either they didn't code it properly and it's not turned on or you have the wrong sub in the truck. There is an extremely noticeable difference with the sub on and off, which is leading me to believe yours isn't installed and/or coded properly.
Thanks, I was thinking maybe they didn’t tune it correctly or something. I ordered it from ford accessories directly and the 2 plug screws on the top right were the only ones that didn’t align correctly. The dealer charged me for 1.5 hours of labor saying they had to remove the head unit/sync & re-program the speakers. Im going to call a couple other dealers & see what they say & talk to the tech that installed it.
I had this installed on my 2023 Ford F150 and sounds decent. I wanted something that had more kick than factory, but I didn't want the truck rattling from all the bass. I had mine installed at the dealership and was extremely disappointed. The "Tech" never installed the two bolts on top of the system. Everytime I hit a bump you hear metal rattling.
Added it on my 2020 F150, did Forscan myself and without adding polyfill I felt it sounded quite rough. Poly fill smoothed the sound out. It’s ok on most music but can sound muddy in my opinion. The low frequencies do roll off faster than my old 2010 F150 Sony system but can go way louder. Currently debating changing door speakers as those are not the greatest.
@@JP-gravel Lol I figured it out. I was getting so mad because I didn’t know there was a bolt on the back. I was able to loosen the top bracket and move it forward enough that I could get that nut off

Do you have your other Morimoto headlights with the white led drl? Or did you sell/trade them in when you got the yellow drl version? Amigo pero trae un fusible
Esta instalado con los cables de factoria, tiene el fusible en la misama locacion de los otros fucibles de factoria
Do you have your other Morimoto headlights with the white led drl? Or did you sell/trade them in when you got the yellow drl version? Also, have you done any trans maintenance or have record it was done? Those 6r80s are a beast of a transmission, but need fluid drain/fill every 30k. I typically go 30k on a new for first drain/fill, than filter/drain @ 60k then rinse/repeat. If you look up fordtechmakuloco, he's a genius with Fords. Learned a lot from him.
Sold the white drl ones a while back. I haven’t done it yet, but plan to do it this summer.
I'll keep my JL Audio stealthbox with 2 12s 😂

What's your rim, tire, and level set up?

legend. Your videos are really helping me narrow down my wants in such a huge market of stuff for these trucks.@@Autofreakgarage
So did you ever figure out over step by step how to program the woofer overall ...
I posted the forscan info in the video on what needs to be done. I had my dealer do it.
Not all trucks have the connector behind the pillar. Mine didn’t have and had to find the right pigtails. I did a video install as well.
Yes, this is mentioned in the video that not all will have it.
My bad didn’t specify. I think only 501a and up 15-17s have it. 18-20 none of them do. I don’t know if it’s a ford thing or what. But I have a 501a 18 and didn’t come with it. But nothing that can’t be added 💪🏼
Got it! Thanks for the clarification.
Do you think this wound work on my truck its a 2022 ford f150 single cab XL
I’m not sure of newer models, but they probably have an option for it out there.
Bro raising an army in that back seat , a lot of kids
Trying to get my own basketball team going.

I just had this subwoofer installed by ford. Any frequencies below about 45hz at above 1/2 volume will make this subwoofer distort. ALOT. If you truly care about audio I would recommend staying away from this sub and getting a DSP/Amp/other sub. It will sound a lot better.
What size lift is on the f150?
No lift. Just a 2.5” front level kit.
@@Autofreakgarage looks good! I have a 2019 stock just bought it. What brand tires and rims are they and what size If you don’t mind me asking

Thank you for the info!!
Nice video man 👍 and has I see the video I check the link you leave at the video, and the subwoofer is now $750 not $650 🥴😂 I guess I pass on that lol
Seems to have gone up a bit haha
Yes lol, I have a 2017 ecoboost Lightning blue, and i trying to build it nice and simple like yours👍 keep the good content man 👍
Why do they call it forscan thats just crazy
The subwoofer sounds great! But, I hate that they charged you $65 just to do the Forscan programming. That’s less than two minutes to do and it’s super easy. I would’ve done it for free.
What exactly did you say to have them do this? I bought one and my dealership says “take it to an auto accessory install” company.🤦🏾♀️
I plan on getting one and I called my local dealership. They said they charge 2hrs labor to get it programmed. Yikes. I'm going to look around to find someone else that can help.
Will this work in the 2023 f150
Yes you just need the proper harness to connect it.
Great video

Ive got this same setup in my 2016 and it sounds terrible!! there is sound coming through, but my question is do i need to double check its "activated" through Forscan? Would sound still come through even WITHOUT forscan activation? before i go buy the usb obd port to check...anyone?
It has to be activated through forscan. It will not work without it being coded in.
Please bro! I pay u if u want! But I would like to put the that subwoofer in my truck F-150 2016 myself! Program and all! But I don’t know how programs that sh**** lol! Help me please!
Follow the video and take it the dealer like I did. Have it all outlined in this video for anyone that wants to do the same install.
@@Autofreakgarage all right my bro! Thanks my G!
Your kids will shake in the back seat lol
Anyone know if this will work on a 21 Lariat. I have the B&O SS and its woofer is weak.
Don’t believe this will work with the b&o system.
