If I wasn't poor, I'd probably go Bak revolver x4s. You don't lose any interior bed space from where the roll up stows, and you don't block your visibility like a fold up. The only lost ability is the half closed feature, but we all have our preferences. Great looking truck!
I have the X4TS which is the same thing just with the T slot on the rail. I like it a lot I’ve had a lot of bed covers. But I’d say my the only downfall is you can’t open it half way it’s either all the way open or all the way closed which isn’t a huge downfall just would be nice.
In my experience, the Noco battery packs are pretty weak unless you go with a gb70 or larger. I would be willing to bet that the model you have would struggle to start a full size truck if the battery was dead. Noco is good quality but there are much less expensive options that perform better on Amazon.
I have a couple of the NOCOs, but they aren't great for a truly dead battery. I have a clore jump n carry 770 that I keep in the dead space behind the back seat in my Raptor. For tires, I carry an ARB tire repair kit and a 10lb Power tank. For bed cover I have the BAK revolver x4 because it rolls above the bed and ends up about the height of the head rests when fully rolled. I use line x for the bed but carry a jet sled to keep things from sliding around and I can slide it forward to reach things that would be toward the front of the bed. For recovery, I have a pair of Maxtrax recovery boards secured to the front wall of the bed and a 7/8"x30' bubba rope with soft shackles to pull others out.
I would like to go back to what I had on my first truck. And the last Dodge I sold. The Rollnlock bed cover. But man how there prices have jumped. I’ve had the Bedrug twice. Not one problem. The older you get the more your knees will appreciate it. If you’re really worried about stains or anything. Just like he said get a tarp. One more thing I’ve learned six foot beds minimum. Why did I buy a 5 footer? I would never do it again. Looks wrong and it never fails what ever you put in there is to long. Learned that the first day. Running boards.
I use to have that bed cover smh it broke in under a year. Its NOT meant for ppl who haul things at all. The tank that holds the bed cover when you roll it up is very fragile. Ended up getting a quadfold for my new raptor
I've had a Retrax cover for a few years now and it leaks pretty bad. More as the front and rear so I added more foam seals around the tailgate area which help some, but with the moisture getting in all the time, the hardward for my retrax is rusting and after sending in pics they basically reply with, we don't guarantee it's waterproof. Such BS and not willing to help. I would stay away from Retrax going forward. I have Thule racks on mine which there are very few options with the rails for them sadly.
Ya that’s the only problem with some of these tonneaus their good for awhile but long term is the problem. My Undercoverflex that I had on my last truck was decent but started having issues too.
I’ve had my Retrax on my 2011 FX2 for 12 years and had to trash it because the sides of the container (made of clear plastic) eroded and cracked. I was not worth the cost to replace the parts so I had to trash it. Now our 2023 model just goes without because I can’t find one that is appealing to me yet.
@@f1fiftyjimmy I agree! I really did enjoy this tonneau cover, compared to others I've tried in the past. But they did go up in price significantly. I do hope they've improved the quality to reflect that price increase. I would still like to buy one in the near future.
Love the videos. On this one you took the truck through a car wash. As a brand new owner of a 2017 Raptor I was reading you could not take it through a car wash. I hope I am wrong. That would save a ton of not time. Would love a response. Thank you again for all of your helpful videos!
I take it through all the time. When I use to go to Mister car wash sometimes their track had a hard time pushing my truck if they didn’t have both tracks under the tires. The wash I go to now, I tell them to turn off tire shine but my passenger side still gets tire shine because of the width of my truck. You’ll be fine just gotta try em out! Congrats on the new whip!
I'm looking at getting the bed rug, but haven't found a clean look for the bed lights. It looks like you have a plate around the light to hold down the rug. Did you buy them or did it come with the Raptor? I have a 23 F-150 and there is only a rubber gasket around the lights.
Glad to see another raptor video. I have a bed rug in my gen 1 when I bought it. My concern is if it's holding any water underneath that could cause rot long term. Thought about getting line x sprayed instead but dunno yet. Don't haul much at this time
Genuine question: what’s the appeal of a vehicle like this? With the crew cab and the liner carpet it feels like you’re just trying to turn it into an SUV.
Probably that almost useless (to me anyhow) 5.5' bed and the cover roll up tube. The 6.5 is a bit better tho I do miss the 8' beds that I have had on the past 4 Super Duties
I'm getting mid to upper 16 in my new to me 2017. Only filled it up once since I bought it and driving in normal mode trying to see what the best I can get is 😂

I thought negative was connected first? Doesn't the positive need somewhere to travel to once it's connected to the battery?
One thing you can get is a tail gate assist..not sure if the raptor comes with one but my f150:didn’t and for $20 it is nice
Ya the raptor factory has the tailgate assist. If not I would 100% add that!
Astroturf for your truck bed? Not sure what i think about that.
Nice truck!
The bed rug un trucks the truck though. Kind of turns it into a tough mini van

He could have bought an SUV, but then he loses the convenience of the bed. Also it's a Raptor, most people buy them for the looks and power.
Does your bike not fit laying down back there or does the tonneau cover take up that much space
That’s what was thinking. Just lay it down. It’s a truck for Christ sake. I think I would laugh and take a pic if I saw that driving down the road.
Probably that almost useless (to me anyhow) 5.5' bed and the cover roll up tube. The 6.5 is a bit better tho I do miss the 8' beds that I have had on the past 4 Super Duties
It allows for multiple bikes and prevents them from sliding around or banging into each other and scratching/possibly damaging them.
If it is a trash bike or you don’t care about it. Just toss it in the bed. :)
Good video,nice truck
