About time the Platypus gets some recognition.

HOLSTER!! That color combo is 🔥 It’s refreshing to see a company offering such an awesome pistol for around $1500. Staccatos are badass but damn, that price of admission.
I 100% am sure that they are no where near actually worth how much they charge
@@prestonnormile9996 thought the same thing until I held one for the first time last week. Hand by hand held a staccato P and a Springfield prodigy. The staccato felt significantly better. I ended up walking out with it. Put 500 round through it in 2 days. Can definitely say, its completely worth the money

As someone who has tons and tons of Glock mags and always wanted a hammer gun. This is great. Solid review and keep them coming
Just wish someone made em with smaller hammer and beaver tail so you could get a higher grip.

I like the customization ability they have on the website. If I had $1600 to readily spend, I would definitely order one just to experience the customization process and see the end product.

Between this and the Dan Wesson DWX its great to see more 1911/2011 guns that dont need special expensive mags to run.
Also holster because you can never have to many of them.
Wilson edc/sfx/sft 9's have the most reliable and affordable 2011 magazines in my personal experience. Equally reliable as glock mags imo.

Double Stack 1911 does not always equal 2011.

Not only is the platypus a good idea (cheap, variable capacity mags already distributed across your market for a desirable firearm platform), it looks freaking really good.
That’s what I was saying, I think that those beats out most of the so called “budget 2011s money can buy” cause you get to customize your pistol to how you want it to look, get to pick the color, on top of that $1500 or depending on the options you choose is a steal and the fact it takes Glock mags is another reason. Basically you can just take your buddies mags off of their belts and run it lol. Those so called budget 2011s yeah they are cheap but since that those mags are finicky at times and can run you a few hundred dollars just to find which mags works best more money down the drain. Stealth arms did it best and the king of budget 2011s but with quality parts they use (cough cough Springfield)

After the Hudson failure, the price point of the Alien, I want these guys to succeed badly. I think I'll order one, worst case it will be like a H9, best case I'll be in at the ground floor of a company that takes risks to innovate at a great price point. Great video!
Glock mag capable will sell this gun
I ordered one 1 1/2 weeks ago. Decided to take a gamble with an unknown, but with being able to make one that's a one off custom just for me, I couldn't pass.

Did you have issues with the Hudson or the fact the company folded?
I never had any issues with my Hudson. Sad they tanked the company by announcing the aluminum one everyone wanted.

I decided to take a gamble and ordered one 1 1/2 weeks ago. Still not that many reviews out, but seeing yours helps provide reassurance that hopefully I'm not lost cause stupid.
Made mine similar except i got the ambi safety, extended barrel, and no optic cut.
Mine's a commemorative piece for my Wire Fox pupper passed on. So it's a tri- color, white with tan and black accents.
How did it work out?

Seems pretty interesting, did you try and run the 33 round mag in it? I’d love to see what it looked like. I’m loving the fact that it takes Glock mags, I feel like that’s were orical messed up. Can’t wait to see the 1K review

Holster. Interesting combination of Glock and 1911 (all aluminum frame = better than 2011's plastic grip modules)
I kinda disagree plastic grips can me nice for carry guns
For a carry gun yes, simply because of weight savings. For anything else polymer is sub par to aluminum.
My first 2011 back in 1994 had 108,000 rounds of 115gr bullets at 1580fps. Aluminum frame rails would have been trashed at 30.
2011 frame rails aren't polymer, my point was that aluminum is better than polymer.

Great video, good to see a real shooter with their own specc'd out gun.
I asked them about competition mods etc, they said they are in the works.
....so are custom serial numbers and more goodies.
I still have a month to go waiting on mine. I held out and waited for the Primary Arms cut, and Ambi.

I was actually waiting for this review from you even before you posted the preview that you had bought one. I've been looking into getting a Platypus since I saw that it was released at Shot Show. For the holster, I am planning on getting my first double stack 1911 later this year and that would be very a nice holster for that firearm.

I love that they lay it out in one complete webpage. I know it’s not quite at the same level but trying to build a dagger and having to jump between pages to compare is a pain.
Reason that PSA might do that is that the parts are Glock compatible so they sell them separate.

Not to go against the miss's, but I think the drawing of your hand was an excellent idea that added a very personal touch. Thank you for doing reviews that explain the finite details that are important to shooters. They are actually very helpful and the next best thing to being able to coon finger one for yourself. I have bought several pieces of kit just off of the information in your reviews and have never had buyer's remorse.
