  • The Staccato P is the standard for a 2011 style pistol - it is THE 2011 - but the Prodigy gives you a similar experience for about $1000 less. The Stealth Arms Platypus is a double stack 1911 that takes GLOCK mags - which is pretty neat - and completely customizable by you when you order. Join us as we look at what's in the market in 2023.

I don’t know about the Staccato but I am thoroughly impressed with my Prodigy, it is my third 2011\1911 double stack with the other two being high end customs. I was able to tinker with the factory components in my Prodigy and achieve a nice 3lbs trigger. Granted it probably will wear out, when it does I will replace it with high end parts.

    I replaced my trigger (atlas) and guide rod (Dawson precision toolless) in my prodigy. Both were amazing upgrades (won’t say game changing because everybody says it). Debating if I’m going to pull the trigger on a Cheely grip and infinity internals. I will eventually get it ported either thru monsoon or dcs. I was going to get the platypus as well but wanted a officer style instead which they don’t offer. And now their lead times are 14-16 weeks. I’ll end up getting a staccato cs or a bul armory sas ultra ii. Just need to make a decision and then wait for either to be available 🤦🏾‍♂️

    I think you will like to gen 2 staccato grips that can easily be stippled for that extra grip. I ran the ice comp in open for a while but doesn't make that much of a difference to me. With Limited Optics introduced, these guns are perfect for that. Running Double alpha safteys and Atlas takedown pin gas pedal (unfortunately makes it only useable with the double alpha race holster). I ordered the Atlas Titan and plan to carry the staccato P once that comes in, but looks like I will be shooting the staccato in Area 4. Interested to see how the 5" slide/barrel fares against the staccato 4.4" slide 5" threaded barrel

    I don’t think a prodigy is super nice but I do always recommend it to people wanting to get into a DS1911. I think the fact it takes the same magazines as the “big boys” so if you buy a nicer DS1911 your 125$ dollar mags don’t just collect dust 🤣.
    I also do love all the upgrades currently available for it. You can get into one cheap and customize it to how you want a gun to be. Absolutely my recommendation for someone wanting to get into 2011s but doesn’t want to drop money on an Atlas, Rafferty, Candy Mountain Custom, or SV.

      Its entirely irrellevant until you start going to matches. Once you go to matches, you'll figure out what divisions you want to shoot in and it might not be limited optics.

    Platypus is my favorite of the 3. Given all the configurations and it takes Glock mags instantly gives it very high marks.

    I've been looking for a Bul Armory 1911 Government in 45ACP and they seem to be unobtanium right now.
    I may have to upgrade the one of their more expensive models at this rate.

      Strange, there are alot of Bul 1911s in my area. I picked up a used 45acp Magnum research 1911 last month and they had multiple other used one and new ones as-well. FYI magnum research and Bul armory 1911 are more or less the same.

    Loved it. Still think my prodigy problems would suck really bad for anyone that can’t fit a barrel to a 1911 but after you change out all the mim parts it is actually not a prodigy so now it’s good. I still really want a platypus

    Great video, I think the BUL is a great middle ground between the STI and these other options, but the customization options on the Platypus are awesome and it's a lot of fun to design them on their website

    Something to remember about the staccato P. The trigger was designed for patrol / duty use. That's why it is 4.5 lbs. Their XC and XL models have much lighter triggers. Those would never be allowed to be carried at an agency.

    • @TheHumbleMarksman
      @TheHumbleMarksman  ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand that and I'm not pointing at the weight - but the quality of the trigger. The only "good" 1911 trigger in the lot is on the Platypus from a cleanliness standpoint.

    • @sikwatikenshin1060
      @sikwatikenshin1060 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the Platypus use EGW ignition kit. Thats why the trigger quality is good. Staccato has soft trigger. Doesnt mean its good. I install the EGW ignition kit on the Prodigy. That made it feel better than my P and XC. I will be doing the same on both my Staccato.
