XC owner here. Mine ran over 5,000 rounds with no cleaning. Needs lubrication at about 750 rounds or it starts to chug. I ended up going to a 9 lb recoil spring. The factory spring tends to exacerbate the chugging when the gun is dirty and feeding issues may occur. Great video! Always love your stuff. I really would love to here your thoughts/video on the Bul SAS UL Comp. I recently purchased one and would like to get the most out of it considering it is compensated, particularly in ammo selection for concealed carry.
It is expensive but if your gonna pay 3500 then 4300 is not that far off. I loved mine so much I bought another. The only other one I was considering was a sand/ nighthawk trs comp. But the wait time was long and the grip felt better to me on tha xc. The slide is butter smooth the trigger is soft with a clean break it is a lot of money 💰 but if you wanna play with the big boys and let your nuts 🥜 hang. It makes you a better shooter for sure.
I did the same exact thing. The Athena is AMAZING and a true piece of art. I traded my XC towards it. As much as I LOVE the Athena, I was sick to my stomach over losing my XC. So, I just bought another today 😁😁😁. Its a must have. And now I have an Athena and an XC. Best of both worlds. My advice, get the XC back man. U wont be happy until u do. The Athena and XC are so different that it justifies needing to have both.
My steel Staccato P has zero slide to frame flex. I think that might just be a dissimilar metals thing if you get an aluminum frame with the steel slide.
@TheHumbleMarksman Mine I bought May of '23. I wonder if they had more clearance in there earlier on for reliability reasons. I have zero play on any axis. It's just as tight as the XC I've shot. Has a couple thousand rounds through it too. Mostly suppressed.
So on every shot slide hits the compensator in front of the barrel. I guess that one of the reasons to keep slide light. Not sure how that will affect the barrel or slide in long term.
Svi island barrels is a staple for their custom guns. The point I’m making is Svi formula for a nonepirted/comp 5” government style pistol recoils the same as this xc im only bring this data to you so you would know. I can only imagine how a actual ported or comped svi build would be like . Also you definitely feel a clean reciprocation of the slide on the frame vs the xc .
@@awokeone7997my regret on my svi build is I didn’t port it or comped or a combination of the two. If I were to recommend a tuned up pistol off the shelf if 100% recommend the Atlas erubus or the xc .they say you shoot them side by side you will know why I says that.
Can you clarify more about trigger pull weight vs spring weight?....and how something magical happens?...is this something 1911/2011 gun guys should attempt to achieve.
Nice! Fun to see you so enthusiastic. How about testing it against a P with a DSC comped barrel installed? Can you get a hold of a DWX that's had its barrel cut with a port?
That thing is Sexy. They should call it the Staccato MR (for Margot Robbie). That said, It looked like an open gun when you were shooting it. It didn't move.
Shoot some of your open matches with it and do a break down so it gives dudes that don’t compete an understanding of why it’s not “competitive” in open. Before I competed I would have thought a gun that cool/expensive would be awesome for competition, because most people don’t understand major/minor and why you can’t load any gun to 9 major.
I'd be curious to hear what load you work up for this. Doing my load development for my XC now and have it running 137pf on some 115gr pills with 6.4 grains of Vihtavuori 3N37. Shoots flat but it returns pretty violently into the comp....switching to a 9# spring to see if I can slow it down a hair and push my PF up a bit to get more gas
I put a Cheely grip on my XC, pinned the grip safety, and the result is 90-95% of my Atlas Erebus (for significantly less cost). Overall Atlas is still in another league, but a few tweaks to the XC gets you very close.
Nighthawk IMO is the best 1911 / 2011s I've ever shot or owned . I have shot Staccato P DPO but I have not shot the XC yet . I would imagine my mind will change if I did . Back in the day I used to have GOOD Para Ord Limited 18-9 . It was actually super reliable unlike the newer Paras. I actually was going to buy Bul Armory , Oracle Arms 2311 or Staccato-P DPO but I'll be damn'd my LGS has lightly used CZ75 SP01 on Consignment for ridiculously cheap price so I couldn't not buy it and send it off to CGW for Pro trigger package and OPTICS Milling / RMR Footprint
@@bigshoe84 A good buddy of mine has the P07 , P07 , and SP01 PHANTOM. I love all 3 of his pistols lol . I'm guessing the SP01 PHANTOM is SP01 except its Polymer frame .
A rundown of why someone would buy the P vs XC? Starting to save up as well as work with a 1911 to have the correct battery of arms technique and I know the XC is awesome. But I am still at best an “intermediate” shooter…if I get a 2011 should I go with a Bul Armory instead? Curious on your thoughts.
I have used 115,124, 147, and notice zero difference with any of them. I never noticed the stock grip being aggressive, I put on a Cheely stainless aggressive grip. That’s aggressive, we call it the cheese grater, lol. I use the next level down grip from Cheely on my P and C2, maybe a better choice.
Do you find that there is a slight amount of rotational movement ( wiggle) of the barrel when the slide is forward in battery as a result of the island barrel and corresponding slide inlet needing clearance if you grip the compensator and try to wiggle / rotate it? I ask as my STI Costa Carry Comp (the forerunner of this pistol) does this. Not sure if this is normal or not. I wanted to make a real range toy out my Costa so Extreme full trigger kit with Infinity trigger shoe, Limcat stainless grip (they do a reduced diameter grip for people like me with girly hands). STI stainless mag chute and full length tungsten guide rod. It makes a not inexpensive gun expensive or in the same price category as an Atlas but a non plastic stainless grip makes it shoot a lot flatter and a plastic trigger I took it as a throw away as I knew my preferred trigger length was different.
Rented this at a gun range over Father's Day. Unbelievably spectacular! It made me a much better shooter, and was really fun.

Cool piece!
I kinda miss my XC. I gave it up as a part of a trade for an Atlas Athena. No regrets, but I may buy another one.
The video I didn’t need to see!! Great review.
I can unsee it by looking at my bank balance.
My steel Staccato P has zero slide to frame flex. I think that might just be a dissimilar metals thing if you get an aluminum frame with the steel slide.
Mine does and it’s steel - 21 manufacture
@TheHumbleMarksman Mine I bought May of '23.
There is a gap- a fine one. There have been Island barrels in guns for years in competitive shooting circles posting super high round counts
They really did nail the XC!
Cureently is my CZ custom mdified Shadow II, which shoots extremely well. How's comparison with the Bull Armory and Sticato XC?
DrJ
I shot the Xc side-by-side with my 5” svi Infinity government style none-ported/comped and I think it had the same perceived recoil impulse.
How much was the SVI?
@@awokeone7997 not much amigo like 7kish
@sorrowjoy4312 that still about $2500 more and your getting a barrel/comp made out of one block of steel in the XC.
Svi island barrels is a staple for their custom guns. The point I’m making is
Svi formula for a nonepirted/comp 5” government style pistol recoils the same as this xc im only bring this data to you so you would know.
I want to see it side by side with the Bul UR. Since those two are on my short list.
The XC is much more compact and practical but the UR can handle 9 major and is specific for sporting. For sporting - UR (except IDPA CO)
Are weapon lights allowed with IDPA in Carry optics division?
I want to see you shoot for score with this gun and with your race gun and compare the 2.
CZ makes great handguns
@@bigshoe84 I was not a fan kf thr CZ Striker fired pistols but I'm in love with their hammer fired
@@seanwhite304 I agree, I have several of the hammer fired variants.
@@bigshoe84 A good buddy of mine has the P07 , P07 , and SP01 PHANTOM. I love all 3 of his pistols lol .
I'm guessing the SP01 PHANTOM is SP01 except its Polymer frame .
The XC is popular in 3 Gun Open . Probably a bit more pricey horsepower than needed for IPDA CO - but why not I guess lol !
I want to see a video where you clean and maintain it
I saw some 2011 called the Legion Precision LPWS and would love to see the XC against it as well as a comparable Atlas Gun Works model.
i love my Staccato XC too...me having one is it worth for me to buy a race gun or is there not that big of a difference
If you can load 9 major it’s a massive difference - with factory loads it’s a little different but not much
@@TheHumbleMarksman thanks so much....ur an awesome shooter too,...amazing...
Barrel comp vs slide "expansion chamber?" One better or worse? Pros vs cons? Which one better channels BDE?
Very good video. Congrats. Do you know if the Olight Baldr Pro R fits ok on the Staccato XC ?
I don’t but would bet it’d be OK due to standard rail
@@TheHumbleMarksmanOk, Thanks
Check out GB Guns YT channel - we shoot 10 different loads and similar results
