I think I mostly watch these reviews so I don't have to watch the actual film. You pretty much cover the entire movies in less time so I can avoid it even if it comes on TV. Taking one for the rest of humanity good sir
The fight scene is taken from Resident Evil 5. From the sunglasses, to the teleporting and even the “inconvenience” line. And Wesker not dying is literally Resident Evil in a nutshell.
Reliving this review after 5years. Still awesome as the first time.
Not defending the movie but myth busters proved that up to a certain point numbers dont matter in pushing power. It caps of at a certain point, they prevented a reinforced barn door from being broken open.
fair enough "sheer pushing power" is my mistake, however the myth busters never tested with tunnelling zombies or brick shit houses with giant axes
I think they started adding more Resident Evil characters to make some sense of the plot, and fan service. Which further convoluted the story.
To comment on why Wesker threw his shades at Chris. 1, because it was supposed to distract him. Which worked. Also because this was a 3D movie and that would make him look like a bad ass.
Also Jill's look was from Resident Evil 5.
A minor detail that I find hilarious is that the giant axe wielding guys are wearing boots. They're both like 12+ feet tall, so those boots would have to be specially made. I like to picture a cobbler somewhere in that underground facility making those.
I don't think this Chris Redfiled could punch a boulder to victory but it would still make more sense than this....

it took dumping Wesker into a volcano to kill him in the games. granted he had upgraded himself with the more powerful ouroboros virus by that point but even with just the t-virus he's survive being shot and blown up plenty of times. the real question is why are all these t-monsters near unkillable well Alice, who apparently could perfectly bond with the virus, was still vulnerable to bullets.
also I remember being super annoyed watching the end of the Wesker fight because after doing all kind of matrix shit (which actually is canon for him) and then he just sort of stands there and just let's alice shoot him with the shotgun.
also he gets killed by a door in the last movie. which I feel was a particular huge middle finger to fans

They say it nullified her powers but it actually made her nearly invincible. Silly wesker.
On the subject of him throwing his sunglasses, that's actually a pretty clever tactic. It's basically like a feint in boxing or martial arts, where you essentially fake moving in one direction when all your opponent's attention is on you, causing their reflexes to kick in and thus they end up off guard and you can wail on them
Same Idea here, Wesker has them so wound up that the second he makes even a single movement they'll react to it, thus throwing his glasses is a distraction so he can get right in their faces before they can attack. So yeah it may seem silly but it's actually pretty damn smart.
Actually, it was Chris and SHEVA fighting Wesker. Jill was with Josh.
why bother..this movies doesnt even relate to resident evil...why to follow the storyline....Anderson doesnt care for the games...only to make his wife a heroe.

I love that the virus is literally shaped like T's, you know being the T virus and all.
I think movie Wesker was trying to go with the video game Wesker voice. I'm glad they didn't get D. C. Douglas (hes also probably expensive af to hire) as movie Wesker because I think he would lose credibility with video game nerds.

How can they fuck up video game movies so bad. The story is already there, all they have to do is just make a movie based on the game.I understand that a two hour movie of running down hallways and dodging zombies would be boring as hell, but at least make something remotely close to the goddamn game you're basing your movie on.

If you watch carefully at the scene with the helicopter explosion, you will see someone parachuting out of it.
This movie was so bad, I refuse to see the next one or any future sequels. Just pure shit. The games were fun though...

I love how both Alice AND Claire's eye makeup and lipstick are always perfect in this movie. Like, over-the-top, "we carry professional make-up artists in our back pockets" perfect. I know that make-up would totally be at the top of MY priority list while surviving in post-apocalyptia -_-

Why didn’t Wesker have the entire base locked down ages ago??
He knew Alice and her clones were coming to him and I can only imagine how long it would take for all those clones to travel from Vegas to Tokyo without planes. Which means he had ample time to not seal the base but also prepare a defence.

Throwing the sunglasses and the following fight is nearly exactly the same as the fight between Wesker, Chris and Sheva from the end of Resident Evil 5. It was suppose to be fan service appealing to the video game fans watching the movie. It’s like, “Look, we’re just like the video games.”.

I thought RE6 was the weakest game in the main series, with it's not entirely well done overarching 4 storylines and veering away from its main conceit. RE5 had somewhat wonky controls, but was still very much an RE game.
The plane wisker got into isn't a helicopter.

Kinda funny how Wesker neutralizes the T "cells" in Alice's body, when viruses aren't cells. And since the T virus mutates existing cells in the body (mainly the nervous system), his serum should have been almost instantly fatal for Alice.
Just one more piece of crap showing what a crap film this is.
i can fix that plain crash, the bottom scrapes over a mountain ridge, wesker gets tossed through the window and dragged under the plane as its crashing so hes nowhere near alice when she gets out of the wreckage or in a state to kill her and the crash itself leaves the plane mostly intact so alice at least has more plausible reason to be alive as well as resources to use instead of a burning wreck with nothing to use, simples
when I saw the trailers I was like OMG WHATS THIS COOL MOVIE then I saw "RESIDENT EVIL"and just went wtf

How did the black guy survive when it was clearly nowhere for him to go at his arms weren't in the position to protect himself? When did Alice put the self destruct bomb on the aircraft?.... as I always say if I put more thought into it then the director did then maybe I'm the crazy one... and as always great video
you get all the question and then the sequel proceeds to say "none of it matters were doing this now instead" Anderson makes movies like an excitable child, which is insulting to excitable children really.

Ah, your comment reminded me of a thought that caused me and my best friend at the time to about kill ourselves laughing (I think this was pre extinction, and neither of us were familiar with the games), as we speculated that if the T-virus was so infectious/insidious, it would also infect animals...and plants. We ended up crying and wheezing with laughter at the idea of zombie rhododendrons (which are pernicious enough without the T-virus lol).

For her to kick that glass shard the way she did doesn't require powers; it would mean she's a genius. Because she would have to know to hit it at the right spot with just enough force to send it moving without breaking it _and_ propel it in the direction that it would slice the dog. Having her do the maths in her head would actually be a step in the direction of believability for the series.
Alice could also fly from Japan to Alaska to wherever the prison is without refueling the plane.
I Hate to be petty but in Resident Evil 5 it was Chris and shuva that fought Wesker in the fight scene they ripped off not Jill that was a different fight you are thinking of
That line from weaker is because they’re straight up copying a fight sequence from the game.
I actually loved in RE-5 when he's like "7 minutes....7 minutes is all I can spare to play with you Chris..." - in the first big reveal / boss fight in the tombs :-) (he's so cool in the games)

A thought just occurred to me, and it sorta makes me mad. Why did they never fashion spears or ranged weapons in the years they were there, and just stab the zombies through the gate? It would've actually helped so much shit.

Thats really annoying thing. Anyone infected with the parasite are actually really hard to kill and can transform with enough damage being taken. Shooting the head isnt going to kill them right away. Also the infected were being influenced and controlled by someone else in the games so it doesn't make any sense to just introduce it randomly
I understand suspension of disbelief for a movie but there's a point where you just can't do it anymore the guys with assault rifles are running at her to get stabbed I mean come on

As the narrator says, the world is fucked, so money would be pointless. It's very likely for shelter. But seeing how their psychotic employers would kill or let them die over stupidness on a whim and you have people like Alice coming to slaughter them and cause wreckage in the bases, I myself feel I'd be better off taking my chances on the surface.

When you asks about why umbrella still does what it does in this movie, remember that Wesker is in control of it and he sees humans as a lesser species and himself as the superior one so he doesn't care about testing on humans.

Did you see the size of that crowd ? If one zombie has 100% un-restrained past the pain threshold strenght, Times that by several thousand, A bulldozer could do it so that crowd could too, and thats not even taking the parasite majini zombies into account.

No matter how bad the movies are, I can't help but to like the soundtrack. And as someone who hasn't played the games, I can get a good giggle out of the movies and would still rather watch them out of boredom than some other even worse movies. |'D
this was the first movie i watched in the series so you could imagine who confused yet interested i was but after i watch them all in order i realized who fucking boring they were
