makenna smith If you want to lose your anxiety forever then have a look at your diet. If you eat sugar, processed or junk food or drink a lot of soda then stop. Clean up your diet, eat only whole foods that are natural to the body (eg fruit, veg, nuts, seeds, beans etc.) and drink plenty of water. Stay away from caffeine and too much salt, exercise daily and get plenty of sleep. Your anxiety will go away within a few days to a couple of weeks. Trust me, I suffered with anxiety and panic attacks for over 10 years as I was a drug user, smoker and alcoholic with a poor diet. As soon as I gave them all up and did the advice I have just given you, my panic stopped altogether.

Hey guys, so i suffered from anxiety for about 4 years. and i finally fully healed it. so for me, i had too much stress in my body and i was magnesium deficient. so once i got enough magnesium i could start relaxing more, sleeping better, then yoga helped a ton by releasing the stress from my body. Now i feel like im 18 again. i feel amazing, never any anxiety anymore. Hope this can help someone. Good luck.
"It's not okay to force yourself to get over something, that is a harsh approach, it is a not a gentle approach" I started crying in the middle of cooking after hearing that for some reason. the crying made my anxiety feel better too :)

So I did, and 'survived' this way for years until I physically collapsed at age 30. This was so important for me to hear today. Good luck! :)
+Melissa M. you can't fight anxiety. it's impossible. you have to take time to allow the anxiety or panic to move through the body by shaking, tremoring allowing the body to move in whichever way it needs to release the pent up energy.

"Place your attention on anything that makes you feel good"... That's exactly why I watch Teal's videos. They are a balm to my fears and anxiety. Thank you Teal.
Hi Ovidiu, I'm more anxious when I'm around people, too. So when I was absorbing the informaton in this video, I changed around the things I needed, to adapt it to myself. From this personal perspective, Teal was dead on. THANK YOU SO MUCH, TEAL!
It is very good for our health to cry.. It allows negative emotions to come out or else they 'd made us sick & provides relaxation ... I' ve had very bad infections anytime I wanted to cry but couldn't. On the other hand, I hope that you re in a better place now and your life doesn't give you any reasons to cry : )
if i don't get enough sleep i get paranoid its like i need to be hyper vigilant to stay safe and if im tired i cant be hyper vigilant so i feel like im in danger
It was a game changer when I realized that my anxiety was triggered by low blood sugar or lack of good sleep. I made connection between my physical and mental health and I can actually control it. I always thought that its just bad thoughts and stuff but it isnt... Its purely just my body being tired and out of balance.
When Teal said, “self care is something you REALLY need to commit to if you suffer from anxiety” i had an epiphany. Self discipline is something i’ve struggled with mastering for a long time and i’ve been challenging myself to overcome it. After she said that, it clicked to me that my anxiety can actually be seen as a gift in a way. it forces me to discipline myself enough to relieve my anxiety. I HAVE to be disciplined to take care of myself daily to relieve my anxiety. It’s like mastering 2 things at once. Thank you! ❤
Diet, excersize, spiritual health, sleep. The truth. People don't realize, doctors not even, how important a good diet is. You are what you eat. And most people with mental problems have a horrible diet (autistic, schizohrenix, social anxiety people for instance). Plust low self esteem/worth, guilt and shame are the biggest causes of anxiety. First learn to forgive yourself/mistakes and others, before you can heal. The importance of self acceptance and forgiveness is crucial!
What an odd concept. Don't do anything that makes you anxious! People laugh at me and get angry at me and think i'm crazy over me choosing to not watch the news. They say its irresponsible, that being thin-skinned as they say is wrong, I got so much gump for it, I put it in my head that everything I'm happy about is wrong, and every response to that gives me anxiety makes me crazy. So what you're saying is i'm not crazy for have the thoughts I have and I"m not crazy for trying to make myself happy even if it's strongly against what others want me to be like?
i dont watch news either! but...right now im signing lots of petitions against animal abuse and its making me anxious! especially the ones about the yulin horror-fest in china and also the petitions in korea...horrible pictures!! but...i have to do it, i must do something, i cant ignore because those animals have no one to help them...at least im doing something whereas when u watch news what can u do? i just listen to positive things as im signing petitions....
Be careful with that mindset bc for people with anxiety, if you start avoiding things that make you anxious then you are on a trap to creating an ever shrinking comfort zone, which can and will shrink to the point you can do hardly anything without major anxiety. If it's just avoiding the news, ok avoid the news, but keep an eye on what you are avoiding.
i avoid news in 2020 when the news just makes me feel so stressed, sad, fearful, since the news was all about pandemic After stopping listening to news, I felt alot better. I just visit weather page, to check if there were storms Later on, i felt comfortable watching some news, without making stuck in stress
crying as I watch this, i really don't wanna feel this way anymore, can't take the subway or bus without getting panic, I'm about to go to class now, I don't wanna be there because I get panic, it feels like I can't breathe, my lungs get small as strawberries, I cant party anymore and just relax around people, I can't meet my girlfriends friends without getting paniced and might have to go away, I can't go home to people because I feel locked in
Chris Fox It sounds like you are coming to the crossroads. You worry about life after school. What dose everything mean? You don't want to be trapped in the rat race and yet you also want to know that you will be fine and not have to worry about basic needs or you might have the fear of disappointing others. We all experience this. You should talk to a counselor at school or seek advice from adults that you trust. Remember that the darkest hour is always before the dawn. Don't despair. The answers will come to you.
+Chris Fox Things do get easier mate i suffered really bad during my highschool years. you will get stronger as time goes by. i found exercise very helpful highly recommend it.

Thank you Teal, this is really saving me right now. I love you for showing me Im not crazy - Im sick and tired of people telling me to do things by pushing myself; thank God, I know better; fear is not a problem, in most cases fear is solution - it is the way of our body and mind telling us what is not good for us; we just need to learn to distinguish when our fear is the way we try to fool ourselves from times when our fear is warning us about something that can hurt us; all we need to do in order to be able to make this distinguish is, at the beginning, to do as our fear says - stop, do not do what doesnt feel comfortable; in time, you will know, you will make fear your friend;
I like what Teal says here about anxiety. I do suffer with this even tho' I know it can develop into a real problem for me. Its a work in progress and I work at it everyday. It has gotten better since I've allowed the universe to take over. Underneath all of this anxiety and fear is a real confident, happy, secure person. I just have to keep scraping away all of the years of anxiety that have become like barnacles on my spirit. I won't give up! I dislike the damage my anxiety has caused me in my life. I am putting a stop to it everyday. Thanks for the video Teal. :)

Upon awakening, keep eyes closed and take 8 deep breaths, hold that at the top for 8 seconds. Immediately go get something to eat as cortisol is high, handful or almonds or berries, or protein. Write in expression journal. Write in my gratitude journal. Exercise. Drink glasses of water. Be a diva. Right before bed, watch funny videos, do a gratitude journal, build success for the day you will face.. Try to identify the feelings you are feeling, and then question them.

My mood has totally shifted thanks to your video. I am so thankful for your words and am tearing up. I practice positive thinking and try to reflect on the spiritual teachings that I learned; but today I let myself ponder negative thoughts about my life situation. What you said about uncertainity is so true. I didn't feel very empowered today. But I feel tens times better and will search for resources that will keep me in that state. Time for music before bed. Namaste.
Tibetan singing bowls are good music for anxiety! Lot's of cool musicians out there that I've been discovering. What a different world! Also making fresh vegetable juice is great and stabilizing blood sugar. I use a masticating juicer to get more nutrients and fiber from the veggies. It really feels wonderful to drink.

I've been going to a psych and cbt is exactly that, forcing yourself through anxious episodes. It's helped about 30%, but now I'm left with dealing with the emotions of putting myself through years of forced anxiety 😵.
Hi Harley Hoping to achieve is an understatement, you should seek to achieve but its not just about seeking to achieve a better life, try understand to yourself what do you think a better life is, and as yourself how does it feel to have a better life, imagine how it feels, hear yourself talking in that state your working towards and it can happen over night if you decide to start thinking about what you really want for yourself and stop living because others tell you what to do or how to live.
Hey Teal! I love your videos! I knew that “exposure therapy” was a thing and have tried to force myself to do things that make me anxious. For some things, it has helped. But for some things, it really is like punishing yourself! I think it’s best to find a balance and truly judge how you feel. Thank you. 💜
i appreciate this message so much because it resonates so deeply. i was staying at a homeless shelter and i had developed anxiety. wouldn't say it was terribly severe but it was enough to interfere with my ability to think clearly and focus on getting out of that environment. i remember meeting with the staff, and i don't mean to sound ungrateful towards them and what they were trying to establish, but they had their heads way up their asses and i'm glad my mind was clear enough to be adamant about not taking medication for my anxiety and allowing to structure a slightly unconventional routine to help me get through without coming out more damaged than i already was. so appreciate that you took the time to come up with healthy natural ways to cure anxiety and stress. though i can't speak for people with more severe mental illnesses, thanks to your video i at least feel like i have more knowledge about how i can in turn help others deal with their anxieties in a more gentle, self-loving way.

I was 11 Years on heavy medication, caused by heavy drug abuse and burnout. I suffered psychosis, anxiety, trauma. The medication helped a bit, but the fear remained underneath, always luring. Also side effects were huge. Weight gain, high blood pressure, fatigue, mental numbness.. Now i use a small dose, eat healthy, exercise more, and use 5-htp
YES!! Your anti-anxiety routine sounds AMAZING! It's very similar to what I do when I don't have to go to work (like on weekends or holidays). I'd like to offer one correction to something you said. Blood sugar levels are actually HIGHEST in the morning (just like cortisol). It's called the "Dawn Phenomenon" if you want to look it up and we ALL have it. It's the body's natural way of waking you up and giving you breakfast. It makes perfect sense. You actually DON'T need to eat breakfast as a result of this. Your body takes care of you. That's WHY you have more cortisol as well in the morning. It's the energy your body is providing for you to wake up from your most relaxed state (sleep) and have the energy to start your day. Your body gives you your breakfast. Isn't that amazing! I love my body! :-) I measure my glucose multiple times a day (no I'm not diabetic, just a person with a scientific nature who likes to learn biohack techniques and tried Keto to lose some weight which calls for you to measure your blood glucose and ketones) and I've confirmed this Dawn Phenomenon. Glucose is definitely at the highest point in the morning. And several doctors have confirmed this is a normal state for everyone as well. I'm not telling you to stop eating breakfast. Everyone needs to do what works for them. But you want to go off correct information. You don't have to be afraid of missing breakfast. Your body is perfectly capable of handling reasonable states of fasting. If it weren't we humans would not be here today. :-)
this is probably the best anti anxiety video i have seen as of so far. the note you read made me laugh a bit. i can relate to that though. i always think, if i were to die than i would not have to go to work any more and that makes it sound like it would not be half bad. haha..
THANK YOU for this video, Teal. I especially like what you said about cortisol. It seems to have such a detrimental effect on everything. What I like so much about your videos is how THOROUGH they are! You approach the subject from every possible angle, and this is simply fantastic and healing. Much love and light to you :)
I cant tell you how helpful this has been. Two minutes in and I was already feeling better. Mostly everything you have been saying is how I have felt, with regards to solutions and things that may exacerbate my debilitating anxiety. Sincerely and from the bottom of my heart, Thank you
I truly believe your diet and detoxing is the BIGGEST key to this, in the last year I've changed my diet completely and done several liver cleanses and my chronic anxiety and panic attacks are completely gone.

Teal, it is really empowering and incredible how you connect your emotions and your experiences with us, and I really respect the way you have and are overcoming your own demons or the issues you had on your life; we all have our own unique issues but you try to always get the best of people and of yourself. Thanks for that.
mid panic attack and i have no one to talk to i put this video on and i already feel a sense of relief. i have great sense of hope every time i listen to your videos. you’re truly an angel. thank you
this is what helps my anxiety, and I have like social anxiety. So, what I do is accept my emotions and stop judging them. Let them flow, let them be. don't judge yourself, let it be. And the journey to accepting your feelings will help your anxiety.
I’m 37, all my friends have their own families so I’m alone a lot. It’s nice having a group of people like you do but I dont even know how to find them.
You will have many books published and get the right roll out. I feel it coming for you lady. Thank you for your knowledge its helped me on MANY many occasions.
I always appreciate when Teal mentions stuff that is more personal. Like if she's a spritual teacher but still struggles with typical human things it makes me feel like I am just as capable of becoming what I admire about her in myself. Sometimes my mind puts other people on pedestals and devalues my own worth but this makes me feel like an equal. I think she's a fantastic teacher for this reason.
I’m struggling with anxiety so bad that sometimes I imagine in my head or I wish that the anxiety would just kill me so I don’t have to deal with it anymore.
Turn into the feeling of anxiety and try to understand where it's coming from. Don't try to run away from it but welcome it. That's how you start to heal.

With releasing your emotions through writing, though... I would do this all the time, but I would only write down my fears as realities, and it would only validate my fears. It is so important to express your fears and get them out, but it is ALSO essential that you follow that up with self care. Your fears are fears, NOT a reality. You have the power to tell yourself that. In addition to just releasing/processing anxiety sometimes, now I often like to write down affirmations that are completely contrary to my anxieties, which really helps me.

I've been struggling with crippling anxiety when it comes to completing my work and it caused me to manifest my fear of not doing things on time for my teachers (I'm in high school). This has been the only thing that has truly changed things so quickly. It's only day one and I already feel such a difference in doing my work because I choose to -- not out of fear of people thinking I'm incapable. Thank you so much!
Thank you Teal. Was feeling some anxiety today and had the bright idea to see if you had any videos about it… One of the things I love about how you teach is that the methods are so natural. You put into words ideas I feel like it a come to on my own if I was open and receptive enough. Thank you for reminding me what it feels like to be human!
Burning Light Same feeling, just triggered by different stuff. Select the things out of the bunch of advice you find appropriate to your personal healing, and practise them.
All anxiety is the same. Let yourself feel it don't ever run from anxiety, it is trying to live without anxiety that causes it. NEVER touch anything with caffeine or alcohol in it. Don't touch tea, coffee, milo, chocolate, energy drinks or guarana (which is pure caffeine). Caffeine causes anxiety, depression and thought and sleep disorders. You don't have to have connections, if you are isolated you can still live with anxiety and relax. Yes. Yes you can.
Social anxiety is part of a self-rejection and past trauma from invalidating comments from parents and others. I found that my social anxiety comes from people pleasing and it makes sense to want to please people. However, it can go out of balance when you feel resentful for pushing yourself to please people. What do you think?
Just before I watched this video an unexpected one happened just yesterday while I was filming. I am most affected by negative energies around me and it is why I shut myself off from those who produce negativity. Emphatically speaking of my sensitivity, It helped me by closing my eyes and taking deep breaths. Thank you for creating this video!

the only thing is that SSRIs DO help a chemical imbalance, one should not avoid a psychiatric condition, no amount food, sleep, and/or exercise will help that .. and if you SHOULD need to come off of a medication, it would have to be done in increments (dosage)
For the last 3 years I been in very extreme ptsd. I knew I needed people, that now its the time I need anyone the most. But thats the tricky with anxiety, no human want to be around u, they sense it and then eighter run away or take advantage of u in the situation cuz ur weak. Its been even impossible to pay for someone to even listen 30 min straight without interrupting or talking about their issues. Ive tried so much. Im to scared of people. This video helped a bit thou
I have had anxiety ever since i was a kid. It has manifested in different ways and i did not even know i had anxiety and all of my sickness was just from my very very sensitive nervous system. I remember that I was made to go to kinderdarten, and i hated going there, because the teachers and kids were mean to me, i did not have any friends there and i was super afraid that my parents were going to leave me there and i will be abandoned. now that i think of it, i had anxiety even on the first day of going there. Of course the abandonment never happened and nothing had ever happened as much as i recall to make me feel like i might be left there forever. I was too young to explain why exactly i hated going there, so i just got super nauseous and cried like a nut and threw up etc.. but my parents had to go to work and they could't leave me home alone. So i was made to go. I had panic attacks at night. Woke up hearing screaming men and women, screaming because they were about to die.. Or i woke up confused, having a panic attack, feeling like someone or something horrible and dark was after me in the spirit realm. When i was a teenager, i started having sleep paralysis. A few years later i started getting scary visitors. I have overcome those nightly panick attacks and my sleep paralysis has almost disappeared, and is not that scary to me anymore. Now i am 23 and still struggling with my anxiety. Even happy experiences trigger it. But the most annoying part is that i might feel totally fine the whole day and night, but i still wake up with this panic feeling in my chest and this horrible horrible anxiety like i am about to visit a dentist who is going to pull out my teeth, or go under an operation or something. i have been taking natural medication with vitamin B complex and natural herbs that are calming, but nothing really truly makes it go away and stay away. I do yoga once a week and i meditate almost every day, i am a vegetarian, i don't smoke nor drink. I think this anxiety is just me being an extremely sensitive person. How can i change something like that? I have accepted that i am the way i am, but living like that is hard. The emotions i experience daily are really strong. Always have been. And now i have to write this comment and watch teals videos to help me come out of this anxiety attack i woke up to, so i could start my day normally, only to wake up tomorrow, feeling the same way.
Maybe you are still attached to higher sphere or state and you are a high empath, or high sensitive person, hsp, with a lot of talent for helping others because you feel others true core and needs...Talent and struggles go hand in hand... Dont give up, answers will always come in life...
I need to say, her voice and manner of speaking, beside the wonderful helpful things she says, I inevitably feel joy watching her. I know it is ultimately my responsibility to create and choose joy for myself, but thank you, Teal for helping me feel joy.

well obviously. When you're alone you aren't put on the spot
Hi Ovidiu, I'm more anxious when I'm around people, too. So when I was absorbing the informaton in this video, I changed around the things I needed, to adapt it to myself. From this personal perspective, Teal was dead on. THANK YOU SO MUCH, TEAL!
"You should sleep 8 hours a day"
Me at 3AM trying not to cry myself to sleep
Lmao 😂 😂
You're allowed to cry yourself to sleep
are you ok? i hope your worst day in life is no worse than the best day you have had ! Amen
Chronic anxiety is one of the worst experienes one may go through.
so true.
Yes. There is nothing wrong with you. I feel you!
@@Bl1NK9 Sometimes it's ok to avoid while you heal and then slowly add stuff back in.
i avoid news in 2020 when the news just makes me feel so stressed, sad, fearful, since the news was all about pandemic
After stopping listening to news,
I felt alot better. I just visit weather page, to check if there were storms
Later on, i felt comfortable watching some news, without making stuck in stress
crying as I watch this, i really don't wanna feel this way anymore, can't take the subway or bus without getting panic, I'm about to go to class now, I don't wanna be there because I get panic, it feels like I can't breathe, my lungs get small as strawberries, I cant party anymore and just relax around people, I can't meet my girlfriends friends without getting paniced and might have to go away, I can't go home to people because I feel locked in
Chris Fox It sounds like you are coming to the crossroads.
Chris Fox i cant go to my classes at uni either... if one person talks to me i freak out. it sucks.

I too have struggled since 1997. Everything I have gone through has given me this same knowledge. what she is saying is true, just, and healing. I believe the morning rutine to be the most important and was/is still the most important. Get out of bed!!
Thank you Teal, this is really saving me right now. I lost my mother to Covid before Christmas and have spiraled into old generalized anxiety.. like physically having trouble eating/swallowing my food. It feels insane but I’m so self aware of myself that I’ve been able to keep from having full blown panic of mental/bodily breakdown. This gives me so much hope and tools I will start tomorrow.

I love you for showing me Im not crazy - Im sick and tired of people telling me to do things by pushing myself; thank God, I know better; fear is not a problem, in most cases fear is solution - it is the way of our body and mind telling us what is not good for us; we just need to learn to distinguish when our fear is the way we try to fool ourselves from times when our fear is warning us about something that can hurt us; all we need to do in order to be able to make this distinguish is, at the beginning, to do as our fear says - stop, do not do what doesnt feel comfortable; in time, you will know, you will make fear your friend;

I'm 14 years old and I have anxiety. This video has helped a lot. Every time I go for a car ride with a sibling I always freak out , I think to myself I'll never learn to drive, what if I crash, what if I die, it looks to hard. But sooner or later because of this video I think I might learn from one of my parents
I loveed it when you started reading that letter. I know when I put the Drinkin down 11 years ago that's what it would have sounded like. It doesn't sound like that today.
Also, don't consume ANY stimulants like coffee --- coffee really puts me on edge.

I've been going to a psych and cbt is exactly that, forcing yourself through anxious episodes. It's helped about 30%, but now I'm left with dealing with the emotions of putting myself through years of forced anxiety 😵.
I have been a recluse for 10 yrs and am hoping your vids help me achieve a better life.
Hi Harley
Hoping to achieve is an understatement, you should seek to achieve but its not just about seeking to achieve a better life, try understand to yourself what do you think a better life is, and as yourself how does it feel to have a better life, imagine how it feels, hear yourself talking in that state your working towards and it can happen over night if you decide to start thinking about what you really want for yourself and stop living because others tell you what to do or how to live.
Hey Teal! I love your videos! I knew that “exposure therapy” was a thing and have tried to force myself to do things that make me anxious. For some things, it has helped. But for some things, it really is like punishing yourself! I think it’s best to find a balance and truly judge how you feel. Thank you. 💜
She is so honest & vunerable...like no one i have seen...love her!!
i appreciate this message so much because it resonates so deeply. i was staying at a homeless shelter and i had developed anxiety. wouldn't say it was terribly severe but it was enough to interfere with my ability to think clearly and focus on getting out of that environment. i remember meeting with the staff, and i don't mean to sound ungrateful towards them and what they were trying to establish, but they had their heads way up their asses and i'm glad my mind was clear enough to be adamant about not taking medication for my anxiety and allowing to structure a slightly unconventional routine to help me get through without coming out more damaged than i already was. so appreciate that you took the time to come up with healthy natural ways to cure anxiety and stress.
though i can't speak for people with more severe mental illnesses, thanks to your video i at least feel like i have more knowledge about how i can in turn help others deal with their anxieties in a more gentle, self-loving way.

Thnx. Honest and informative - intelligent and empathetic. Great work Teal.
I cant tell you how greatfull l am for your videos it help me really to save my life..so thank you
I measure my glucose multiple times a day (no I'm not diabetic, just a person with a scientific nature who likes to learn biohack techniques and tried Keto to lose some weight which calls for you to measure your blood glucose and ketones) and I've confirmed this Dawn Phenomenon. :-)
Oh yeah and intermittent fasting has been proven by a geneticist to be extremely benificial
Positive self talk and learning to self sooth is also a good strategy
this is probably the best anti anxiety video i have seen as of so far. the note you read made me laugh a bit. i can relate to that though. i always think, if i were to die than i would not have to go to work any more and that makes it sound like it would not be half bad. haha..
Love the background. Another former PTSD sufferer myself. EMDR therapy WORKS.
THANK YOU for this video, Teal. I especially like what you said about cortisol. It seems to have such a detrimental effect on everything. What I like so much about your videos is how THOROUGH they are! You approach the subject from every possible angle, and this is simply fantastic and healing. Much love and light to you :)
I agree.
I cant tell you how helpful this has been. Two minutes in and I was already feeling better. Mostly everything you have been saying is how I have felt, with regards to solutions and things that may exacerbate my debilitating anxiety.

Love the authenticity, Teal!

But what about social anxiety?
Burning Light Same feeling, just triggered by different stuff. Select the things out of the bunch of advice you find appropriate to your personal healing, and practise them.
Don't judge yourself
All anxiety is the same. Let yourself feel it don't ever run from anxiety, it is trying to live without anxiety that causes it. NEVER touch anything with caffeine or alcohol in it. Don't touch tea, coffee, milo, chocolate, energy drinks or guarana (which is pure caffeine). Caffeine causes anxiety, depression and thought and sleep disorders. You don't have to have connections, if you are isolated you can still live with anxiety and relax. Yes. Yes you can.
@@CityThatCannotBeCaptured
Caffeine and alcohol in moderation are usually fine for most people
Social anxiety is part of a self-rejection and past trauma from invalidating comments from parents and others. I found that my social anxiety comes from people pleasing and it makes sense to want to please people. However, it can go out of balance when you feel resentful for pushing yourself to please people. What do you think?
Just before I watched this video an unexpected one happened just yesterday while I was filming. the only thing is that SSRIs DO help a chemical imbalance, one should not avoid a psychiatric condition, no amount food, sleep, and/or exercise will help that .. and if you SHOULD need to come off of a medication, it would have to be done in increments (dosage)
Try doing yoga twice a day. When you wake up and before you go to sleep.
I need to say, her voice and manner of speaking, beside the wonderful helpful things she says, I inevitably feel joy watching her. I know it is ultimately my responsibility to create and choose joy for myself, but thank you, Teal for helping me feel joy.
