- We're back at ALDI to see if the frozen food section has some healthy options. ALDI has really been stepping up their game lately, lots of clean foods with great ingredients, but is that true for the frozen food too!? We found some really good stuff, especially the keto ice cream and low fat, high protein ice cream. These ingredients are next level and the price is right. The ALDI organic pizza is so close to being best in class, but the frozen kids bites are just as good as anyone else. Of course we got kicked out, but that did not stop us from filming in the snowy ALDI parking lot! Mad love..Bobby, Dessi, Rose, and Art! XOXO

Would it help if we all mailed/emailed corporate of these companies and reminded them that allowing you in allows us to make good decisions and shop their stores and their products. Maybe if all the FlavFamily rallies you’d gain their respect and authorization to film....thoughts?

I think there is an issue with filming the other people who pass by in the videos without their consent. It's much better to purchase and film at home like many other TH-camrs do. Then you have more time to discuss the products and do a taste test.

donna marie believe they do their best to not have other people even blurring faces. They have accessibility to so many more products than if they just bought some and brought them back home.

Sometimes it's because they don't want customers to be filmed without their consent and they do get in the way of other people that are in store trying to buy things at times.
It's out of respect for the workers and customers who did not give their consent to be filmed.

@@donnamarie6840 It is not against the law to film people in public places. There are other reasons retail stores prefer not to have someone filming their products, store layout, etc. And yes, it can be disruptive, generally.
I've had an Aldi in my town for a few months now and I absolutely love it. All the trustworthy organic and vegetarian items makes it so much easier to shop. Inexpensive too! Thanks for your videos!

Love the vid! I wonder if you can arrange an agreement with the corporate offices or even with the local managers since your channel/video is more likely to steer new customers and drive more foot traffic into these stores? It is free advertising and you are not saying negative things regarding the store or its products. The majority of the content would compel us to shop there. I hate to see you get kicked out on such a cold blustery day.
what many corporate stores are concerned about is the videoing of people without their knowledge or consent, in particular children - it's a fine legal line to 'walk' - Aldi's needs to know enough folk have watched Bobby for long enough to have a better understanding about which foods are healthy and we share this info with our friends!
battles146 ah yes, you have a point. I’m not entirely sure of the rules for public filming here but I’ve heard that people need to sign release forms etc. I see “hidden camera” shows like Impractical Jokers where there seems to be a lot of background people, (filmed in NYC) and not many blurred out. So I think it would not be possible to get consents from every passerby. But I think they get permission from the city to film in the spots they choose. So maybe if the problem are the other customers, maybe the stores would be open to the idea of letting him film before or after hours? If there’s a legal problem against it, I’m sure these stores would have already taken action considering how popular his channel is.
I think if he spoke directly with corporate and the store managers and showed them his numbers and agreed to blur the faces of the customers they probably could work out a deal. Maybe even allow him to film an hour before the store opens to avoid customers all together.
There certainly is an issue with the filming of people that could be solved with letting him film early, but he does criticize a lot of products. Essentially, why would I want someone going through the store saying a majority of the products are not healthy and not good for you? It makes the owners of the stores look like they don't care about the health of their customers.
Eric Panchenko I see your point. Though I think the reason they don’t already attack him for slander is that he’s very careful about saying it’s what he recommends or is “Bobby approved”. He isn’t necessarily making claims against the store itself. And he doesn’t attack their other products. He is just being informative about the ingredients they list on the packaging. He could easily do the same style of review without filming inside the store. So they’re not really stopping anything by kicking him out and it’s in their best interest to work with him and even work with a goal of agreeing on certain products to promote. Quite a few times in this vid he mentioned the bad canola oil but said he’d still be ok with it since other efforts to be healthy were made. It’s not like he’s gone in and rated every item on their shelves. He’s really focusing on the fact that they do now have organic and healthy options which a lot of people may not expect in a budget grocery store.

Filming in public places and stores is a sticky situation. While I LOVE Bobby’s hauls and store videos and find them very informative I can see why corporate is weary. I’ve worked in CS as a cashier and sales associate and remember teens coming in and filming THE STAFF without our permission and putting it on Twitter. It was very unnerving that video footage was floating around of me on web. I think if the faces of the staff and customers were blurred out corporate would be more open. Corporate is also trying to save theme selves from Lawsuits. So I can see from both point of views. I wonder if they could work something out where they film before the store opens or after it closes.
According to the law, consent is not required to film people in public places (it's just a courteous gesture to either not film them, or get their expressed permission - but not legally required).
I remember Bobby got sponsored to film at Aldi for a Father’s Day haul and I thought that was great!

Any grocery haul needs to be coupled with a taste test. Some of these items, while healthy, are not appetizing. Recommendations would be more valuable if healthy and tasty.
That ends up being more opinion. I know I tend to find things palatable where others don't.

So true. He recommended something at aldi last month. I went out and got it. It was absolutely disgusting and tasted soooooooooooo salty. I'm not sure if he tastes test Bobby approved stuff. Ickkkk
The stores that kick you out can't stop ya. You can just buy the foods you want to go over and review in a video some place else. Which is a little more of a hassle but still be just as effective to your FANS. Keep up the good work that ya'll do for everyone. We are learning so much. Thanks Bobby and Art

Because of checking out your Aldi picks on the Bobby approved app I went to see what organic things I could find.
I was pleasantly surprised!!!
I found organic turkey breast, organic uncured ham, ( honey & black Forrest )organic Colby jack, mozzarella slices, organic string cheese, kombucha .organic pesto, chunky salsa, spaghetti sauce ( organic).
The cashier told me they’re getting more organic stuff all the time so I’ll be checking back w them again.

I'm upset that ALDI kicked you out because they opened a store in my town about 2 years ago and I had never shopped there until I saw your video. You are promoting their store with free advertisement. I subscribed to your channel about 3 weeks ago, thank you for all the information regarding ingredients. I pay better attention when I shop now. We tried the portabella mushroom burgers at our aldi's and they're really good. They're starting to come out with more and more healthier options which is great. Sad you got kicked out of the store. Even their rice cauliflower with garlic is awesome

I was so excited when I bought the keto ice cream and I thought to myself - I bet this is Bobby Approved! However I just cannot get past the texture of ice creams like this. The texture is always so weirdly dry. I want ice cream to be creamy. I also got the Shrimp Quinoa frozen meal and it tasted and smelled bad!
Just so I’m not being a total Negative Nancy….I absolutely love the kale veggie burgers, and I was so happy to see you show the frozen Kale and Quinoa blend. I swear by that and had been hoping it was Bobby Approved!
Sit it out on the counter for 5 or 10 minutes before eating. The Halo Top Keto has the same issue, but after it sits out for just a bit it's nearly perfect.

What exactly is "rib meat" in terms of chicken...that kind of freaks me out for some reason.
Just like humans the white meat is above ribs. The breast meat. On the chicken the ribs are held together by the white rubber piece called the keel...like our sternum holds ours together. They sometimes split the chicken breast into 3.....2 rib sections and the keel. Or they split in into 2 by cutting down the middle of the keel.
I noticed when i see rib meat used at some points you get bones. Not sure if that is an accident or protect them if you get a bone. I am totally guessing, but i have def noticed bones when i get with rib meat

Where wore you wile i was growing up, now i'm almost to late to change, i have become a complete vegetarian and still got to improve the way i eat . Now i make sugar i have hypertension heart disease and problems with my circulation in others words one leg on the other side all for not knowing what i know now.Thanks for the great job you both do GOD BLESS

Cottonseed oil just makes me cringe. The canned oysters at my local grocery store, Ralphs, are packed in cottonseed oil. Every time I see that I just get angry because I know how unhealthy it is and I hate that something as healthy as oysters are packed in something so bad for you.
Trader Joe's sells the Crown Prince smoked oysters in olive oil. They are the best! If you are unable to go to TJ's, I have seen the 18-pack on Amazon on offer.

Hey Art & Bobby - thanks for all of your efforts to give us the low-down on crap vs. credible foods! I'd love to see 'what's healthy/not' vids that instead of spending entire time in store, and 'reading' labels, you could wiz thru that stuff after-store/in your kitchen, and then use 3/4 of the vid time showing us how YOU incorporate these items into family meals/snacks, what sides you'd serve, etc. Not to take away from this helpful good v. bad info you share, but it gets kind of repetitive by nature, although I do love seeing what's actually new in the stores that's worth buying. For sure, I like your in-kitchen vids best!

Please do a WORLD MARKET grocery haul. They have some really healthy snacks/condiments. I saw your favorite Lucini tomato sauce in there. Their house brand popcorn is made with expeller-pressed oil. I also discovered Route 11 potato chips (salt & pepper). First potato chip I have found cooked in expeller-pressed oil. It's pretty desolate in there late at night. Or you could play it safe, buy the goods and take them home and review. You know, mix the format up a bit. Appreciate you both.
Petition these stores to create an influencer permit. We are trying to learn something. I have to try the keto ice cream. Has anyone tried the soften ice cream setting on their microwave yet. My Whirlpool works perfectly.

Maybe the corporate people at Aldi should start watching and reading the comments. You are honest with your findings and bring them more business. I can honestly say I have changed or added SEVERAL things I always buy at Aldi from your reviews. Yes it costs me a little more now but I feel better about what I am eating. I buy most of my groceries there so keep up the great work!

I mix my own breakfast cereal. I struggle to find good dried fruit to blend in. Almost all of it has some sort of preservative.....any advice?
You can freeze bananas sliced or whole and they come in organic in Sam's club. Also Krogers carries dried org raisons. Other fruits are freezable also.

I appreciate your attention to the gluten free choices 🙂 I eat gf for medical reasons, and unfortunately Aldi has very few healthy options for me. Their use of natural flavors and manufacturing on shared equipment really limits my options.

The Keto ice cream uses Sunflower Lethecin and Corn Fiber. Didnt you say SL isn't good? I would think the corn fiber would not be non GMO since there isn't a non GMO label.
Hi Bobby, I checked this video because I haven't had much luck shopping frozen food at Aldis. Our local Aldis is very small and limited, they got rid of Aldi's Finds as well. I find the prices outrageous; for the cost of a frozen bag of Quinoa, you can buy an entire sack they sell and make a pot full, stir fry some veggies & add a protein if wanted. The pizzas are so bad, across the board. But I won't complain further, I've taken to making everything including pizza dough, bread, baked goods at least I know what I'm cooking/baking with. I hope if your audience is young and wanting to live clean & healthy, they take up cooking themselves, its much cheaper and healthier.
