    By popular request, here is my full review of almost every pasta and pasta sauce they carry at the grocery store. It's really important that pasta is made from whole grains, because enriched wheat pasta has no nutrition and is a simple carbohydrate. Whole wheat and whole grain pastas are made from complex grains and are not only better for you but won;t spike your blood sugar nearly as much. Pasta sauces need to be made with real ingredients, have no added sugar, and use high quality oil, like extra virgin olive oil. Mad love Bobby...Dessi...and Art! XOXO

    for those that do not have a trader joe's or whole foods within 2 hours distance, nor have a budget that can stand $5 pasta sauce, "Simply Ragu" is a good non organic option: no sugar, 100% olive oil, no preservatives--tomato, olive oil, salt onion, carrots, garlic. $1.89.

    I’m Greek and Italian and therefore a pasta purist. The best tasting pasta is the Organic 365 from Whole Foods. I’ve tried the Banza, not bad really, but when it comes to texture and flavor you can’t beat the good stuff from WF. I only eat pasta about twice a month, so. I’m not worried about lack of nutrition, I’m filling my sauce with veg and beans so it doesn’t matter to me.

    It's nice to see a video where there used to be full shelves of food. Now the only pasta sauces you can find on the shelves are the really expensive ones. I've always made my own sauce It takes any where from 10 mins for a simply recipe to 4 hrs for a more complex sauce. Use canned tomatoes with little or no sugar .U can make it sweet if U want use a carrot when U cook it down. And the cost is very little even using top grade canned tomatoes.
    In the summer I make it fresh get any kind of tomatoes at ur local farm put them in a blender with parsley, olive oil and a peeled clove of garlic . That's it no cooking at all and it will freeze nice.

    Bobby pronouncing “Cocina” like “cochina” had me cracking up! My mom was like, WHAT did he call that sauce 😂😂

    • @mikevillasmil697
      @mikevillasmil697 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      He actually pronounced it correctly. The brand's name is cucina (Italian) not cocina (Spanish). I'm native in Spanish and fluent in Italian. The one he actually got wrong was "bolognese" because he cut the last "e".

      I just opened and tasted the organic aldi sauce and the specially selected premium aldi Marinara sauce. There is no comparison. The organic smells and tastes like Ketchup compared to premium. The premium has the 2020 chefsbest award on the label and only cost $2.80. It's made with Italian tomatoes, I'm not sure why they are better but it smells and tastes so fresh and delicious
