Wow, Bhimbhetka!! They say there's another site "Ambadevi rock shelters", also in Madhya Pradesh, which has even older rock paintings than Bhimbetka. Recently, some really ancient cave paintings like 50,000 years old have been discovered in Indonesia, older even than in Spain(El Castillo), France(Chauvet) and Russia (Kapova)! Some people in the comments are quoting ancient dates but we must remember that according to Archeologists, modern humans (homo sapiens) came out of Africa only 55,000 years ago, so some really ancient cave paintings could have been drawn by Neanderthals who are a different species closer to chimpanzees, not by homo sapiens.
Leaving aside antiquity..... its so wonderful that those ancient humans somehow managed to make those drawings. It was surely a great mental leap for, later on, it led to early writing systems. Thank you for the video. I hope to visit Bhimbetka someday!
