I will say the diesel for me has been amazing. I was at 29mpg average with my stock gladiator. Now with a 3.5 in lift 38s and a bed rack I'm at 23mpg average which is fucking amazing lol and it pushes the 38s around like nothing.

@@ryant3814 I spent a week camping & driving all over borrego desert and only added 5 gallons. 250+ miles that trip. Full day of wheeling in moab uses less than a 1/4 of a tank. I dont track mpg per se off road but it has relatively huge range. Definitely my favorite vehicle ive ever owned. Would buy again 100/100 times and would only consider the diesel or if they come out with big range EV version.

Not sure what the point of this video is? No mileage comparison? No power comparison? I have an eco diesel wrangler and I can say compared to my jk 3.6l it is night and day.... I really didn't like my gasser at all but absolutely love the eco diesel! It is an amazing vehicle.. I have seen 30.3 mpg on trips... just amazing. To get that mileage I put on a banks Derringer tuner, almost keeps up with the 392 and "can" get over 30 mpg.......love it

I'm in the market for a gladiator. I can't decide between the diesel or the gas in a 2023. There is so much noise out there and it's hard to know who to listen to. I've heard that they have made some changes in the last few years to fix some of the emissions issues with the diesel.

Well if the tire sizers were true a 40 would only have 1.5” advantage over a 37 for clearance. But a 1 ton axle has less clearance than a 44 will… so you don’t exactly have that much more diff clearance unless you are going with high end Currie or alike.

A diesel Gladiator oil change is $450 in Canada. So, 8,000 km divided by $450 = $17.78 per km off your diesel gas mileage. A gas Gladiator Rubicon oil change is $30. Then there is the def problems on the diesels, with old def fluid, and you have to carry def fluid with you in case you need it on the trail. Wear as the Gas version need 3-4 jerry cans of fuel, depending on the distance offroad travelled. My Gladiator gets 15mpg / 100 km on the highway, worse in bumper to bumper. In the Canadian Rockies, Diesel Wranglers are having overheating on long mountain pass inclines that cause them to go into limp mode on a trip. FAC may have already figured out what the problem is. The Eco-diesel engine is a torque machine. They both have steering problems, and the fix is Synergy Track bar and pinion bracket, a upgraded steel gearbox, or adding the Apex steering pump mod, or PSA hydraulic steering, with upgraded heavier steering components. Once all the necessary mods are done, both are incredibly capable. Nice builds guys. I'm just doing the 5:13 Spicer gearing upgrade next week. I want to upgrade the bumpers, add a 12,000 lb synthetic winch, add skid plates, diff skids, swaybar disconnect skid, and shock skids, and at least a 4.5 inch lift, with 37 or 38 inch tires. Maybe even a front axle truss. A Genesis Dual battery mod, and lighting for better offroad visibility. Well just empty every pocket.

That being said, I didn’t discuss overheating because Neither Jeep experienced overheating.
