Oil filter tip. Slightly loosen the oil filter. Take a red solo cup and squeez it around the filter and spin. No mess and all the oil stays in the solo cup.
This is the most well done video I've seen. Love your channel. I just completed my first oil change for my Focus RS after watching this video. Thank you!
Great video as always Cameron. Question, when you lift the car only at the front, are you emptying the oil more effective when doing that or is their a risk that you are not draining all oil? The plug is tilted backwards I guess so maybe its even more effective than to lift all four wheels? Im having a tight garage so not possible to lift all four....
Good to see you pre-fill the filter. Why wouldn't you! I've seen vids where the mech just didn't bother. There is no reason not to? Here in the UK (And Europe generally) the oil spec is 0/40 It's not as if we have a colder climate generally than the US? I use 5/50 now the car is out of warranty and have had no issues.
U filled up the filter + another 6L? Sounds a bit much to me as the oil also will expand when engine getting hot. Manual says 5.4 with filter. Anyways, nice video
@@CameronAlford lot’s of tests showing differences in performance, but if we’re being honest, the earlier oil changes are more important. AMSOIL is great if you beat the shit out of your car, like in tracking

dudeeeee thats genius. Thank you Charlie!
fking amazing idea, doing this next time
Im going to try this. I just used a small funnel on my filter last time but a cup makes more sense
Editor Justin went off on this edit ha, drop a 👏 if you enjoy the editing so he can feel the love!!

Right on!
👏🏼 I love the edits! I can’t wait to see some more mods done!
edits are nice, but need to be watchful not to over do it, kinda loses its effect.

Doing my oil this week, thank you for this. ❤

You really don't have to pre fil the filter anymore. 15-20 yrs ago sure but it's no longer needed. You still can if you want though. No harm no foul
gotta say the paint on this car is my fav part 🎉🎉🎉
same!!
how long do you own it? any major problems?
Great content. Appreciate all the work!
Will you do a video on the ptu and rear diff fluid change too?
Of course!
Same oil filter from Focus SVT 😎👌
I am from Germany and my Focus RS Manual says that i have too use 0w 40 Oil . Why is it different in the US?
So you don’t carry the oil change kit for the st? 😢

It looks like the oil he used for the filter was from one of the containers, so 6 L was all he used
I am wondering whether the Motul oil you used in the video was actually 300V series. LOL.
Hey Cam did you run motul in your GTI? about to do a Change in my mk7 R for summer and deciding on a brand. Was gonna go with LIQUI Moly but not sure…
yeah i have a video on the channel for the GTI specifically which has the same motor as the R :)
@@CameronAlford sweet. Thanks watched that and got it done today with jack stands and all, feels good 😂
Great video
sold out, Will there be new stock soon?
Would be nice if you did a kit for a mazdaspeed 3.
Gonna do one soon as well 👌
Nice!
Waiting for that catless downpipe install video
AMS oil is god tier, not changing my opinion
Why so?

@@CameronAlford Amsoil and Redline used to be the only two that met Ford specifications. Looks like they're adding more now
I'm running Motul in my GR86 and have had no complaints, it's quality stuff
The best oil is Royal PURPLE XPR
Sure wish I could get the oil and filter I bought a month ago.
Did you reach out to support? Motul has been back ordered because they changed the bottling of this oil

I absolutely despise the Focus oil dipstick. I can never get a clear reading on it
👏👏👏👏👏
Interesting that your RS needs 5W50 oil and my RS 0W40 🤔
Are you sure? everyone else ive see/talked to has 5W50 also
@@CameronAlford it looks like ford recommends to use 0W40 WSS-M2C937-A in europe and 5W50 WSS-M2C931-C in north america. I don’t know why though 😅
@@Jalmari1 WSS-M2C937-A is only for mk2 RS not mk3
I love you
I love you too
3500-5k is perfect please don’t go over
bruh $140 for oil and filter? 💸💸💸💸 i would rather stick with amsoil, castrol, royal purple, or mobil 1.
