Getting my 16 NB back hopefully this weekend after a block rebuild. I've always been interested in cars (grew up around my big bro's classic muscle cars) and this is my first fun car. Love the newbie friendly info from your channel and the whole vibe of info delivery. Gonna do this mod eventually and the sequential turn lights as soon as she gets home! Thanks for all you do here, it's a HUGE help and confidence boost that I can diy too.

Cameron bro. I've been a professional mechanic for 7 years now. And I do have the tool for spreading the knuckles on those style struts. But you taught me something with that bolt and plate trick. Just goes to show anybody can learn something from anybody. Cheers man.
Heck yeah! I learned this from other people online but yes always can learn from anyone! The strut spreader tool doesnt really work on the ford and luckily the knucle is threaded to be able to do this unlike the german cars

I used the "KW Electronic Damping Cancellation Kit 2016+ Ford Focus RS" when I installed my Airlift Performance suspension and that fixed the drive mode errors.
That plate and bolt trick is incredible
Love the vid. Super informative as always. As someone’s already mentioned, to get the steering and throttle response of track mode on the coilovers you have to select track mode, wait till it the track mode light comes up on the dash then hold the suspension button on the stalk. Then it’s all sorted👌🏻

Track mode is still available, just press the suspension button after you out it in track mode
Some suspension manufacturers sell a delete kit for the active dampers (plug kit) to trick the system its active.

Mine didnt get warning lights, it just said that my performance modes werent available, all you gotta do is put it in drift or track mode and then immediately press the suspension button
The drive mode error only appears because when the dampers change from normal to sport while selecting track mode. To get around this error on coilovers without electronic damping cancellation kit when selecting track mode quickly press and hold the button on end of blinker stalk to turn off sport suspension. You should see spring light on dash turn off. I believe you have a few seconds to do this. If you purchase Electronic Damping Cancellation Kit you won't have to perform the above.

Did the front strut assembly come built out of the box? Thats pretty convenient for swapping and doing it yourself
How drastic is the change in ride feel? I daily my rs and have been looking at options to improve it. Just wondering if it’s worth the money?

If no one has a random scrap piece of metal to pry open the top part of the knuckle. You can use a wrench. I used a harbor freight wrench and there wasn't any damage on the wrench.

Hold the sport suspension button on the turnstock as soon as you select track mode.

GTI question!!!! Have you though about upgrading your headlights on the GTI or is there a video already out by Cameron Alford
Nothing is needed to fix and use track mode. As soon as you select track mode hit the button on the left stalk to turn off the suspension mode. It will then work no problem, this is what all RS guys do including me!
Did you verify the pre-load was set properly?

Hey Cam. Have a 16’ RS putting those exact coilovers on my car as I type this. 😂 did you adjust the rear and fronts or leave it from how they sent them.

BC’s are affordable for most people, they support creators and fun events and projects. All around good vibe. KW is of course gonna be able to perform better than this BR series but the best of the best isn’t necessary for a street car for me. She rides nice now finally

An absolutely great option. Simple fun cars with great support from people and the community and parts. Fun behind the wheel every day!

yeah i didnt wanna put the locking lug nut on knowing i would be right back to take it off and have it ready to put the. new wheels on the next day
