A belated thank you for this! We're looking at introducing a dog to our family in the near future, and my instinct would have been to let them sort it out themselves. I'm going to heed your advice and also do more research!

I've just watched your video. It's very interesting to hear these options. We have a puppy who is 6 months. We also have 2 cats. So any information is useful. One cat will stay in the same room now. But it's still hard work with the other cat.

I found mine from a once off breeder in Northern Ireland. When I contacted the IKC they told me that there are actually no breeders registered with them at the time. I was also advised to be cautious when looking for a vizsla in the Republic as there are some that are not to be trusted. I suggest joining Facebook groups and asking around and contacting the ikc in case anything has changed and take your time to make sure you find a trusted breeder!

All dogs are not the same! Yeah I can see a cat smacking a Yorkie once or twice and the dog respecting the cat after that, but the Vizsla is a hunting dog it sees the cat as pray. I think that is why You do had to teach the dog to respect the cat.
