    Precious. Our vizsla is 5 months old now. Couple tips that worked for us. We tried having her sleep in her crate at night for several night and it was painful. No sleep for us or the dog. We decided to put her in bed with us and our problem was solved. She slept quietly through the entire night with me getting her up once in the middle of the night to have her use the bathroom. We did that for 1-2 weeks then stopped the nightly trip to bathroom after that. Zero accidents and she sleeps quietly throughout entire night.
    She was quick to potty train. We used hanging bells on the door knob which we got from Amazon. We took her out frequently to use the bathroom and every time we took her out, we would ring the bells. After 2 weeks, she began ringing the bells herself to let us know she needed to go outside. so this took the guess work out of when we should take her out as she quickly began letting us know when with the bells.
    Everything goes in their mouth ( even now) so if you don’t want it item chewed up, you better lock it away. We have never had an issue with our girl chewing up furniture, just loose items like shoes, etc..
    We set up her crate in the office where I work so she would take naps in there and got use to it quickly. So to get your pup use to her crate, I would recommend placing it in a location where you are quite often, then moving it later if necessary. These dogs hate to be alone and just want to be with you at all times so we don’t leave her alone very often or for long periods of time
    We love our Vizsla so much as can’t imagine not having her around now. Good luck with your beautiful pup

      I love the idea of the bells! We have only had two accidents with pee luckily as she usually holds on or walks around sniffing before we let her out. I wonder if it’s too late to start her on some Bells!
      She loves her crate at night now, most nights she will walk herself to the laundry door and put herself to bed 😂 she will be there from around 10:30pm and won’t wake us up until around 7:30am!
      We absolutely adore her 🥰

      @@ThatsSoJasmine Wow. I’m amazed to hear they your Nugget will actually walk away and put herself to sleep. Our Josie will never be found a foot away from a family member. She can be dead asleep in her crate while I’m on the computer, I’ll creep away without making a peep, a second later, she’s right there next to me. She will never spend a minute alone. It would be nice if she was a bit more independent like your Nugget so I envy you.

      @@joeykramer7282 Nugget is similar! If she’s asleep on the couch we will try and sneak to the toilet but she will come follow and sit on the toilet floor with us 😂

      Btw they don’t outgrow their crazy phase, they will remain crazy even when they hit 10.
      I own a 10 year old Vizsla (well me and my family anyway as I’m not old enough to own my own dog really).
      One thing is you should probably get her checked for hip dysplasia as my dog has slight hip dysplasia and it’s not too bad but it’s still good to get checked.
      (It is common for Vizsla to have hip dysplasia).

    6:11 This happened to us too. Came up in a rash soon after handling a Vizsla. Didn't settle after trying all sorts of bathing the dog and cleaning. Had to return to the breeder. Didn't seem to occur with any other common breed that's locally available. They are lovely puppies, and this was a sad thing to occur

    My Husband and I had two vizslas. Sadly we lost both in 2021. Alex died in April, she was almost 16 and Molly died in august and she was 13. Best dogs we ever owned. We actually had both of their portraits painted which hang in our dining room. Their ashes sit under our tv. I would love to have another one but we are up in age and as you will find out they have LOTS of energy. good luck in your journey with your new addition.

      Are visla is called milo and is six months old, completely house trained. Sleeps at the bottom of the bed underneath the quilt. We had a crate but he hated it, so he has adopted a old chair in the corner of the back room so he can watch us even when he’s asleep. His only bad habit is food, he’s constantly looking for food. He gets in the back of the car a seems to go straight to sleep

    Hard dog food not good for a Vizsla. Loaded with fat...and they will develop fatty lumps under their skin about 7/8 years old. Human food as a major source of it's diet is best. I fed mine lots of pasta with flavoring, lunch meats and all the table scraps.

    • @ThatsSoJasmine
      @ThatsSoJasmine  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think every dog is different regardless of breed. We had a vizsla live to 17 years old and all we fed her was dry food and canned food. We have tried giving nugget other food besides canned and dry food and it just upsets her stomach and gives her the runs. The vet knows what we feed her and they don’t have an issue with it ☺️

    My vizsla is nearly 3.5 yeras old. I remember EVERY SINGLE day of her living with us. And, I can't imagine to put her overnight into a crate, in dark, separate room! Sorry guys - shame on you! You don't deserve to have a vizsla in your family. Vizslas are dogs of free, open spaces. They love people but are independent. It is very easy to harm a vizsla. 👎

    • @ThatsSoJasmine
      @ThatsSoJasmine  ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I’d have to disagree with you there. I understand some people prefer their dogs to sleep with them but for personal reasons, we can’t do that. Nugget actually loves being in her crate and walks herself in there to sleep at night, she isn’t forced. It’s her safe space. We never hear a peep from her overnight until the morning when she wants to come out. At first, I didn’t like the idea of her being in the crate, but it’s been the best thing for our lifestyle and she is always keen to run in there to put herself to bed. I respect everyone has their own opinion, but please don’t try and shame me or think she isn’t smothered with love and attention.
