  • This is a demonstration of my workflow with the new ZR-1 Drum Sampler in Zenbeats 3.0
    I’m using my old iPad Air gen 1 - so, you definitely don’t need the latest and greatest iOS device to run the new Zenbeats well.

    This is the most instructive ZB3 lesson I’ve seen so far.

    Thank you for spending time to make this video. I've moved from Pro Tools to Dawless many, many years ago and have recently discovered iOS platform due to my MC 101, TR6s and MV1. This will be if great help with this app. Thanks again!

    Glade u made a video I couldn’t find nothing on how to slice up samples

    Excellent video. Zenbeats has a high fun factor and it’s intuitive. Layers is coming to ZR-1 confirmed by Matthew from ZB. Beatmaker 3 and Koala are still my favorite sample tools but it’s nice to do it within ZB world of Roland sounds with a loop/timeline workflow. It’s much easier to sequence and track vocals in ZB vs BM3/ Kaola so everything has its place

    Loved this video! 🙌👏👏👏
    I consider myself an advanced iOS Zenbeats user and this was immensely helpful and entertaining. The way you showed your workflow step by step in a practical manner really showcase the possibilities. I’ve learned new ways and I gotta say that beat was pretty cool!. So thank u and please keep them coming!.

    Great video. Watched it from start to finish. I was scratching my head with the slice editor. You made it easy to understand. This 3.0 update is actually pretty dope. I like how you can drag instruments to an audio track and it prints your midi to audio. But I did not know you can drag an audio track into a ZR1 track and gets assigned to a pad! That’s insane! I’ve been using Zenbeats when it used to be called Stagelight, and it came a long way. It’s my choice of daw in iOS, so underrated.

    Bit of ground noise there in the background! Nice to see some positives over the update. Hope they fix the midi fix.

      Sorry, the ground noise is the air conditioner in the other room. I live in a desert and it’s 100 degrees out these days 😂

    Thanks for the video. When I put my sample in the step sequencer it cuts off. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.

      Tap the edit button then change from “hold” to “one shot”

    Fella this does look really good. Is it user-friendly for hip hop sample-based stuff?.

    • @lugo4905
      @lugo4905  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is. You can play the pads and sequence that way, or you can use the step sequencer. You can also midi map the pads to a controller.

    how far are you into your plans of making Zenbeats tutorials? im having a hard time finding dedicated tutorial makers, i have a project that requires the basics/simplest functions and I would like to learn Zenbeats, thanks

    • @lugo4905
      @lugo4905  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really have no plans to make a dedicated Zenbeats series.
      I learned much from the Roland tutorials and Sounds For More tutorials

    Unfortunately, a single layer velocity sampler is not in *my* workflow.

    • @tahiche.
      @tahiche. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I hope they add layers, in the meantime if you don’t need a ton of layers you could always add different velocities on their own kit layers with a choke group. I’m usually ok with 3 layers if I’m looking for some dynamics but don’t need a super realistic drum set.

    It’s bug ridden , and they’ve removed the ability to use midi plugins .

    • @lugo4905
      @lugo4905  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Midi plug-ins are back. Just updated to the new version. Sure it’s got some bugs. But, being that it’s free to start out with, it gets the job done well
