Great video! Thank you very much for posting it. Related question: Does the power steering fluid need to be drained, or partially drained, from the reservoir before you replace the power steering pump? Or, can the reservoir be at full (max line) capacity? I’m asking because last week I had a local mechanic replace the main power steering hose (complicated job ~ 2 or 3 hours) and when he was done he put almost 3 bottles of the Honda certified power steering fluid back into the reservoir. So, it’s full now and I’d rather not drain any of it in order to replace the power steering pump myself (thanks to this video) ….. if I don’t have to alter or drain the fluid. That would be ideal.
Juan diaz my acura mdx is a 2001 and the belt for my power steering pump only goes straight down and wraps around the crank and clue what is different they only made 1 motor for them???
Thanks for the great video! Did you replace the O-rings for the new pump? I know those can be an issue with these. Also, do you usually flush the system when you install a new pump?
Need to change the o-ring on the top hoses. It doesn't come with the new pump. And they don't care to include it. I have a 2002 MDX and I'm sure the o-ring has never been replaced.
Thanks for the video now I can start to work on my car. What’s really impressive was you did the whole job in 15 minutes with no editing. Great job.

How come you didn't change out the o-rings when installing the new pump? Also, is it bad to restart the pump when it's dry? Thanks.
I think o rings are not always necessary to be changed and also to pump just gonna run one second without liquid

What's the noise in the background at 14:45 . My cats reacts and growled every time she heard it
Noise that you heard it was my daughter voice she was playing with me her puppy.
Did the new pump solve the problem and no more whining/moaning noise? What make of PS Pump did you use - remanufactured or new? Thanks
yes it did solve problem (New Pump )
The belt on mine goes directly on the crank there is no tensioner pulley
I replaced my pump and it is still making noise
