Hey Rocco!
Just bought an ‘04 1300c, and need to go through all of the maintenance requirements, and after watching several “how-to” videos, I wanted to let you know that I just liked this video and subscribed to your channel.
It’s great how you explain the processes, have close-ups on the components, and don’t have all of the production theatrics and annoying soundtracks that some people feel are necessary.
I liked it when you said some people don’t realize that there are 2 plugs on both sides of this bike!
Cheers!
Fred

Well just got. This 2005 1300R been sitting for 9years miles 7496 I just changed oil. Air filter is like new but half to have chock on half way can't give it any throttle or barney bogges down. Was thinking or changing plugs love ur channel on the vtx an ideas of next step would help a ton as u already have with oil change thanks for ur channels helps so much put u up as top 99.7 to watch . If u was a chick then u get a 100 keep it up thanks again Ludington mi
Good luck with your new ride. VTX 1300 are great bikes. You need to clean the idle jet in the Carburator. Your choke is compensating for a clogged Idle jets and that's why it will run when your choke is halfway on. If you shut the choke off the bike will stall.. Thank you for watching and your sub. S F. That’s fun ain’t it! I love doing things to my motorcycles! How many miles did that cycle have! It sure had good sound! A friend of mine has a VTX 1800 and he put at least 4 different sets of pipes on it trying to get it to sound good but never could get it to sound worth a hoot but the 1300 sounds really good with those Vance and Hines but the cobra pipes sound better to me! Good job! 😎🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Sure is, Love working on my motorcycle.
The vtx1800 will never sound as good as the vtx1300.. totally differnt offset crank and firing order... gives the 1300 the classic harley offbeat thumper sound

Hi Rocco, i am new in bikers world. Recently purchased a 2009 VTX 1300c. It was fine until recent the bike would start and die. replaced battery but issue didnt resolved. Now I am thinking may be spark plugs.. don’t know when was last changed. And, while browsing online, I saw your this video clip. loved the clear explanation and I subscribed to learn more about bike through your other clips. Question…. Which spank band should I use for my bike and if you have any input on my bike issue would be greatly appreciated.. thank you !

Hey Rocco - thanks for the video! What is the polish that you use? And would it help performance any to get the Iridium plugs or is that just throwing money away? Great tips but I miss the radio.
I missed the radio to. They strike my videos with music in the background copyright infringement. Here are the plugs I ues. www.ebay.com/itm/NGK-Standard-Spark-Plugs-DCPR6E-4-PACK-HONDA-FURY-INTERSTATE-1300-VTX1300R/223597011362?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648. As for polish. th-cam.com/video/tTnJZDnwJag/w-d-xo.html. And it will make your ride quicker...I Think.........At least it looks quicker..
Owners manual says when installing new plugs to seat washer then loosen and reseat 1/4 turn after it seats. What’s your opinion on that? I did mine that way, seemed to seat better the second time but 1/4 turn seems tight in an aluminum head.
I try not to make it complicated. The manual wants you to bring your bike into the shop. Thats how they make there money or you trade your bike in. Whatever makes you comfortable, there's no wrong way to put a spark plug in. snuggled it up and call it a day. Thank you for watching and your sub Andrew. Ride safe and have a great day.

How often should you have to change the plugs on one of these? Things I have 1 − 2009 VTX 1300. With about 5000 miles on it.
And mine doesn't run like yours does.
Happy to help. The plugs is probably a symptom of a problem. What is your bike doing. Usually plugs could stay in a bike. 10,000 miles minimal, What is your bike doing? Rocco please advise; I’m doing something wrong, installed new NGK plugs, now having engine sputter and missing in lower gears. Checked the new plugs, they seemed to have dirtied up pretty quick, tightened them a little more, but still had the problem. I put the old plugs back in, bike ran well for 3-4 rides. But today same problem has popped back up. Missing/sputtering in lower gears, also engine sound and vibration is rougher than normal, and now feels like there is less power when accelerating during a longer ride today. What should my next step be?
Happy to help. Thank you for watching in your sub Andrew. Take a look at your vacuum line coming off your Petcock that's what controls gas flow. maybe you interrupted or loosened it. Rocco, Have you had to change the air box? Mine was damaged when a prior owner took it to a shop and the broke the nut plate for the cover. He never fixed it now I have to. Any help?
Yes I have repaired the air box mounting nuts by resetting the nuts with JB Weld. Making sure they line up with your Allen head bolts on your face cover. Be careful that everything lines up when you set the glue up. JB Weld you will have drying time to line things up. Hope this helps thank you for watching and your sub John. @@TwoWheelRocco Hey brother, got that airbox changed out. The hardest part was reconnecting the air lines behind the box. They have small clamps and the area is tight. But all done.
