    Now I’ve had this cool buggy for a little while and I’m only just getting around to showing it you guys and gals, well here it is my Losi JRX2/Pro. With the re re of the 1/16th 5 link jrx2 I really wanted to get my hands on one but rather a full size version so I tracked this Pro down that I think started life as a jrx2 originally. Anyway hope you enjoy it, take care. 🙂

    The double x is my 2nd favorite care. It's the car that inspired me to get into RC racing. I first saw it back in 1993 ripping around the local track. It was my first race level rc experience and at the time that car was so sleek and fast and smooth around the track and I took my next teenage pay check and bought a brand new cr kit a raced it until the double 4 hit the track and I had to have one of those. I still have my original double x4 . I raced and rebuilt that thing hundreds of times and I still have to thus day. Had a lot of success with it and many fond memories of racing with friends and winning with my friends

      They are wicked buggy’s, there also getting expensive probably even more so for a proper 5 link Jrx2. Never say never though

    I wish they made more brush motors with multiple wines like they used to like you said the quad.

    • @andyrobinsonrc2480
      @andyrobinsonrc2480  ปีที่แล้ว

      Would be cool but in general terms with maybe the exception of crawling Brushless have taken over in a big way so
      Manufacturers don’t invest in them like they used to

    That is very clean! Just grabbed my SE (front arms confirmed) as well as front bumper (may be the same as the actual pro car). Hard to trace the timeline on the used Jrx cars. So many bits were swapped out by racers. Glad you have this over there. They run great and hold up well. Now is the time to make moves as far as picking these up imo.

    • @andyrobinsonrc2480
      @andyrobinsonrc2480  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers for the confirmation on the SE arms I thought they were , did think they were XX at first glance ;) the diff was very nice in this super smooth as well. I can imagine that very good examples will fetch good money sonnies the time to fund one if you can. Cheers Jim

    That's really nice! Rather than getting the 14th scale, you're getting the real deal! This was interesting as always, these are not buggies that I am familiar with other than just a few videos! Looking forward to seeing them out for a spin, hopefully the weather is fine for some dry running!

    • @andyrobinsonrc2480
      @andyrobinsonrc2480  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mads hope your well. Yeah I wanted the real deal so to speak. I’d been after I’ve for a while, the original jrx2 was pretty unique , running video should be out relativity soon it’s all be shot and ready to go. Unfortunately again the running footage was not a dry day lol ;) take care :)

      Hi Andy, great wee rc, cracking competitor to the Associated RC10, raced both and loved both, they were very similar to each other, you could race them back to back and think you were racing one car, they felt so much alike. Niiiiiiiiiiice video mate and a great car.😊

    • @andyrobinsonrc2480
      @andyrobinsonrc2480  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers Mikey :) yeah they were awesome buggys, well they still are and they looked awesome, at this point I’d not driven the buggy (I have now) when I was younger, I never really came across losi’s it was mainly Tamiya, Mardave and associated , although I did an old Losi briefly but I never took a great deal of notice of it at the time it was probably a xx/xxcr. Cheers

      Hi Pete cheers for watching :) I was surprised I found one although like I said I had to import it. I won’t be painting it in my race colour though as at the time of filming this video I wasn’t sure what I was doing with the buggy. Cheers take care :)

    This is a JRX PRO. It has the correct chassis with servo saver cutout and the red steering cranks & antenna mount. The dished "logo" wheels first appeared on these Pro car kits, they weren't in the "Proformance" upgrade kit. This has JRX2/Junior Two 5 spoke front wheels (2.15") and Trinity 2.2" rears. Front arms are early ProSE with LXT spindles and uprights...I would install the correct A-1002 parts. Also looks like it has an A&L Power Clutch slipper. It looks pretty nice, I think you paid a good price for it .

    Pro SE front arms on that one Andy - also disc wheels didn't come out till the Jrx Pro was released , and these were not 2.2 but rather 2.0 . Most guys were using Yokomo wheel adapters for the 2.2 rims back then .
    p.s. you are about 1 year out , Jrx Proformance kit 1990 , Jrx Pro 1991 , Pro SE 92 (Y)

      @andyrobinsonrc2480  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Luis here’s fir your reply , but to bad only bring a year out , must admit I’m no Losi expert lol I got my info when i researched from a website called Live RC with a feature called Losi 2wd buggy time line. I thought the Arms were Pro SE ones cheers for confirmation on that and thank you for checking my video out much appreciated

    The jrx2 always gets all of the attention but the double x is where it's at that car was really good. I never had the opportunity to race a JRX2 but the double x was a head turner it caught people's attention and pull people into the hobby kind of like the rc10 10 years earlier the double x is the car that inspired me I thought that car was so awesome it seemed way more advanced than anything else on the track at the time

    It looks to have LXT front hubs/castor blocks as well, if you have the JRX steering arm/spindle you can adjust the axle height. Pretty new thing BITD, google the Jammin steering enhancement kit to see what I'm talking about. Cheers!

    • @andyrobinsonrc2480
      @andyrobinsonrc2480  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi James I’ve never heard of the Jammin steering kit for the jrx , that’s a new one on me, thanks for commenting about ir

    • @chocolateapocalypse
      @chocolateapocalypse ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andyrobinsonrc2480 no worries! One more thing, the LXT hubs raise the camber location enough to introduce a lot of camber gain which will give you a good amount of toe-in bump steer. On my JRX2 I had to use the Jammin shock tower as well since the camber adj holes are higher than my stock JRX2 and JRX-Pro SE towers. Didn't try a JRX-Pro tower though. Not a big deal if it's gonna be a shelfer but can make handling a bit unpredictable if it's a runner.

    Very cool bit of vintage RC racing history there! I personally prefer the Double X over the JRX2 just due to the goal post shock on JRX2 is a little much. Otherwise both a great looking buggies and certainly have a deep history and winning careers!!! Congrats on getting both of these!!

    • @andyrobinsonrc2480
      @andyrobinsonrc2480  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Addam as a race buggy i prefer the XX and always remember reading about them battling with the associated’s in the magazines back in 90s. Jrx2 is very cool looking buggy and I do love that very first jrx2 with the 5 link set up. Cheers for watching :)

      @AddamsPlayground ปีที่แล้ว

      @@andyrobinsonrc2480 I do like the cool rear suspension and I am not taking away from it at all, it is still a good looking buggy. Those ginormous shock towers are eye catching but for me in the wrong way. Just a little too tall!

  • @jack-o-trades

    Thanks for the video!
    The Losi cars seem to be getting some love across the channels lately. I’ve been trying to collect the early Losi series and they are harder to come by than some of the other “iconic” RC’s like RC10’s, etc…. I suppose it has to do with production numbers.
    What’s than plan for the JRX Pro besides running it? Are you going to keep it as is or ….?

    • @andyrobinsonrc2480
      @andyrobinsonrc2480  ปีที่แล้ว

      My pleasure :) I certainly agree to do see less if the vintage Losi buggy’s compared to their contemporaries. I’m just putting a fresh body on it tidying it up and getting it useable. I doubt weather I can justify keeping it though, as cool as it is it will just sit in a shelf not being used very much sadly.
