While I can understand "canceling" some creators who I think need to be held accountable...I believe Dylan actually has a golden heart underneath all of his jokes and sarcasm. I feel like if he actually messed up and truly hurt someone's feelings or did something insensitive enough to his viewers, he would feel bad. That's why I find a lot of his humor enjoyable! He cares but also doesn't care....got to keep the balance.
The point is that it’s your opinion he has a good heart. People could make the same argument for creators you think should be cancelled. How about we go back to having free speech, and people taking back control of their own feelings and stop letting friggin words hurt them. Honestly I love the fact that he doesn't just apologize when he starts to get hate like most youtubers do no matter if they did something wrong. He has no need to apologize now, because he did nothing wrong, and the same goes for the other times. People are way too sensitive and just need to learn to move on and get over it.
The problem is, "cancelling" someone will only reach people who already hold the same beliefs as you do, harden the beliefs of those who disagree and alienate those who are undecided. Sorry to hear that you’re going through something heart related. My brother actually had a situation several years back when he was in high school - his heart was randomly missing beats, and he then had to wear a monitor for a couple of months to try to diagnose the issue. Ultimately they found out what it was and how to treat it so it has very little interference with his life now, but the doctors at the time acted like they’d seen those types of symptoms/conditions quite a few times in younger folks. I was surprised by that. Anyway, point is, I remember how unnerved my brother was at the time and I’m sorry you’re having to deal with health-related stress. I was on a heart monitor for a while in my early teens and went in and out of the hospital to figure it out. Turns out everything was fine and it was really bad anxiety that was causing palpitations, so hopefully nothing is wrong with your heart and maybe it's just a crusty amount of anxiety like I have lol. Hope you feel better soon though!

Hey Dylan, about that heart thing, I had the exact same thing happen to me! This went on for like a year before I did anything (dumb I know) but my heart would suddenly “skip a beat” (or two) and I would start coughing. It was super scary but it turns out it was a BAD reaction to caffeine. Its called tachicardia (pls don’t check my spelling) and its basically fast or abnormal beating of the heart. Plus anxiety didn’t help either lol. Anyways, really hope this helps. Get better man!
The same happened to me! But the reason for my tachycardia was dehydration (it wasn't like severe or anything, I just wasn't drinking enough water and my intake wasn't evenly distributed throughout the day). I really hope it all turns out alright for Dylan
Yes, I had the same exact thing. It kind of freaked me out when my doctor said “it’s good if you cough, that restarts your heart”… I’m still not sure if she was joking… But yeah, mine was also a combination of dehydration and overdose on lovely, tasty caffeine. Here’s hoping it is this kind of straightforward and easily fixed problem for Dylan.

I think the most annoying thing about all of this is that every time Dylan's gotten "canceled" it's, at the heart of it (pun unintended lol), been because of people not understanding Dylan/ his sense of humor and when he's joking about things or not. While I do understand giving people criticism and holding them accountable for things they've done/ said, I think it's so damaging to try to be doing that all the time, especially when the things they're finding problematic aren't that bad at all or, like in Dylan's case, were meant to be taken as a joke. I'm glad you mentioned this too Dylan because I think there are too many people surrounding themselves with negativity all the time these days to where they start spreading it online and seeing things as issues when they really aren't that bad or serious at all, which is honestly pretty sad to see. I feel like these people's opinions would change if they weren't so negative all the time or if they simply watched more of your videos and became more aware of your personality and sense of humor, since that seems to be a common issue with why people keep wanting to cancel you :/

I mean… If you’re looking for a genuine answer here, people are upset that Johnny Depp’s work is getting a lot of positive attention right now and that he’s being heralded as some kind of hero - despite being shown as exhibiting really disturbing, unstable behaviour. A lot of people are concerned by the positive shift in the public’s opinion of JD when he’s shown how much of a sh*tty person he is. That being said, I want to stress that I think Amber Heard is just as bad, if not worse than him. But lots of people on YT have been ‘promoting’ his movies again by reacting to them (Pirates movies being the most popular ones), and that definitely makes some people super uncomfortable in light of his past behaviour.

While I can understand "canceling" some creators who I think need to be held accountable...I believe Dylan actually has a golden heart underneath all of his jokes and sarcasm. I feel like if he actually messed up and truly hurt someone's feelings or did something insensitive enough to his viewers, he would feel bad. That's why I find a lot of his humor enjoyable! How about we go back to having free speech, and people taking back control of their own feelings and stop letting friggin words hurt them. Honestly I love the fact that he doesn't just apologize when he starts to get hate like most youtubers do no matter if they did something wrong. He has no need to apologize now, because he did nothing wrong, and the same goes for the other times. People are way too sensitive and just need to learn to move on and get over it.
The problem is, "cancelling" someone will only reach people who already hold the same beliefs as you do, harden the beliefs of those who disagree and alienate those who are undecided. Why can't we just accept that for almost all topics there's a wide range of sometimes stupid opinions and just have nice and fact- based arguments? Or just ignore the people who are truly off the rails?

Sorry to hear that you’re going through something heart related. My brother actually had a situation several years back when he was in high school - his heart was randomly missing beats, and he then had to wear a monitor for a couple of months to try to diagnose the issue. Ultimately they found out what it was and how to treat it so it has very little interference with his life now, but the doctors at the time acted like they’d seen those types of symptoms/conditions quite a few times in younger folks. I was surprised by that.
Anyway, point is, I remember how unnerved my brother was at the time and I’m sorry you’re having to deal with health-related stress. Wishing you all the best, and love the content as always!

I was on a heart monitor for a while in my early teens and went in and out of the hospital to figure it out. Turns out everything was fine and it was really bad anxiety that was causing palpitations, so hopefully nothing is wrong with your heart and maybe it's just a crusty amount of anxiety like I have lol. Hope you feel better soon though!
Usually I wouldn’t comment on older videos (or any at all, honestly), but I do have to say that your Pirates of the Caribbean commentary was the first video I watched after coming out of the hospital. I still think about the day I came home and lay in bed very depressed, and your video was the first thing I saw that made me smile. i have so much respect for the fact that although dylan addresses issues like these in his community, he doesn’t let them drag him down. he never dwells on it for too long and deals with it in a very real and positive manner. he doesn’t draft giant notes apologies to post on twitter, he doesn’t make half hour apology videos where he sits in front of the camera forcing out tears, he takes it all very lightly and positively and shares his honest opinions on the matter. if he doesn’t agree with the people who are cancelling him he won’t bow down to their petty bullshit he stands by what he believes to be true and that is a quality to be admired. keep doing what you’re doing dylan, i’m so glad there are still people like you out there who are genuine

I was hesitant to watch the potc reaction cause I’m just so tired of seeing JD everywhere, but honestly it was 1 throwaway comment about how the trial’s constant coverage mentioning JD being the star of that franchise made you want to rewatch the movie. I don’t see how that warrants being cancelled over. I did end up watching after a few days and it literally was just Dylan salivating over how hot Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom are and I can respect that lol.

My dad's memory is getting worse and he's stuck in a bad environment we're trying to get him away from, and if I couldn't laugh at stupid shit, I'd be going crazy rn. Hey Dylan, about that heart thing, I had the exact same thing happen to me! This went on for like a year before I did anything (dumb I know) but my heart would suddenly “skip a beat” (or two) and I would start coughing. It was super scary but it turns out it was a BAD reaction to caffeine. Its called tachicardia (pls don’t check my spelling) and its basically fast or abnormal beating of the heart. Plus anxiety didn’t help either lol. Anyways, really hope this helps. Get better man!
The same happened to me! But the reason for my tachycardia was dehydration (it wasn't like severe or anything, I just wasn't drinking enough water and my intake wasn't evenly distributed throughout the day). I really hope it all turns out alright for Dylan

I think the most annoying thing about all of this is that every time Dylan's gotten "canceled" it's, at the heart of it (pun unintended lol), been because of people not understanding Dylan/ his sense of humor and when he's joking about things or not. While I do understand giving people criticism and holding them accountable for things they've done/ said, I think it's so damaging to try to be doing that all the time, especially when the things they're finding problematic aren't that bad at all or, like in Dylan's case, were meant to be taken as a joke. I'm glad you mentioned this too Dylan because I think there are too many people surrounding themselves with negativity all the time these days to where they start spreading it online and seeing things as issues when they really aren't that bad or serious at all, which is honestly pretty sad to see. I feel like these people's opinions would change if they weren't so negative all the time or if they simply watched more of your videos and became more aware of your personality and sense of humor, since that seems to be a common issue with why people keep wanting to cancel you :/

I mean… If you’re looking for a genuine answer here, people are upset that Johnny Depp’s work is getting a lot of positive attention right now and that he’s being heralded as some kind of hero - despite being shown as exhibiting really disturbing, unstable behaviour. A lot of people are concerned by the positive shift in the public’s opinion of JD when he’s shown how much of a sh*tty person he is.
That being said, I want to stress that I think Amber Heard is just as bad, if not worse than him. But lots of people on YT have been ‘promoting’ his movies again by reacting to them (Pirates movies being the most popular ones), and that definitely makes some people super uncomfortable in light of his past behaviour.
