It's crazy because every single thing these dudes say about women is extreme projecting; being easily manipulated, emotionally unstable, sex driven, etc

As a woman I can confirm that I would definitely at least not hate you for saying this and may even continue talking to you which sounds like not much but is still infinitely better than whatever those "alpha males" could come up with
I think this video was the perfect example of how to joke about something while still taking it seriously. Sometimes when men make videos about incels or just generally creepy dudes it feels insensitive. Like they laugh at how ridiculous these guys are but it doesn’t feel as silly to watch as a woman when you’ve actually experienced these things.
strong agree. i will also say it gets so tiring to watch how many male commentary youtubers milk “alpha male” or pua content for cheap cringe laughs, because when they don’t offer any real commentary about the underlying social problems that make that genre of content popular, it feels like they’re just trying to pander to their predominantly female audiences. as though to say, “thank god i’m not like THOSE men. i RESPECT women because i’m not CRINGE like these losers haha.” It’s low hanging fruit, and it often reads as performative for clicks and brownie points imo, but it WORKS and I see so many girls eating it up bc the bar is truly so low. there are SO many videos that feel like that, from like...BIG creators. and even if they come from a place of good intentions, they don’t bother to talk seriously about 1) the internet culture that breeds this kind of thinking/behavior among lonely young men and preys on them for money and 2) how exhausting and dehumanizing it is to experience the impact of that culture as a woman. drew did a great job here balancing the humor with genuine talking points, which was refreshing to see.
@@LnRit02 @paytinii you both hit the nail on the head with these comments. it's not funny when its weaponized against you and your entire gender... incels aren't just harmless "haha" virgins, but a genuine threat. women get murdered for just turning a dude down, and its these types of dudes who do it. when you reduce women to an object to be won, not even having her own thoughts and feelings, it doesn't just fester online but gets dragged into face-to-face interactions too.
I'm glad to finally see a comment that is so accurate to what I've been thinking this entire time. In fact, I was kinda iffy at first about watching Drew's video because I thought it would be just another "haha incel weird" video but it was actually really informative and points out the issue all while cracking actually funny jokes for once. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against the dudes making content about "alpha/sigma/omegaverse" whatnot, but as a girl, it's very nice to hear from someone who understands (or at least can mostly sympathize with) how bad the situation actually is, because these "alphas" are not funny, they're horrifying. just a random reply as to why i really like Drew's content, I like his balance of humor and information. :)
Agree with all these comments in this thread. Part of what stuck out to me in this video that felt different was essentially the language used for calling out the mentality/behaviors for what they actually are...i.e. predatory, sexual harassment, disrespect/no regard for a woman’s autonomy, etc. Not just “this alpha male is a joke, this guy is ridiculous...” type of commentary. Like no, the language we use is important. These “pick up artists” and the rhetoric they push is actively harmful, dangerous, demeaning. Constantly playing off the whole “alpha/beta/sigma/whatever” concept as solely a joke downplays the severity.

I use to work with this girl who was the sweetest person I ever met. I liked how she treated people and how she could have genuine sympathy for someone she never met before. I admired her when she was going through a hard time and grieving the loss of family, how she could stay so determined and strong. Without trying, she made me want to be a better person and see the world how she saw it, because the world seemed to be a better place to her. One day after work I asked her if she wanted to go out to eat with me, and she gave me the spill that she wasn't interested in dating anyone she worked with and that she wanted to spend time out of a relationship for a while and she had a lot of stuff going on. I told her that I understood completely and just left it at that. It sucked. I was pretty disappointed, but I didn't treat her differently at work, and we didn't make it awkward. We just kept being friendly coworkers until one day after work she approached me and asked if I still happened to be interested in getting dinner some time. She told me that she hadn't stopped thinking about me asking her out, and how when she turned me down, I respectfully accepted her response and didn't hold it against her. We dated for several years and we're about to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary soon. I know all situations and people are different. But I think a lot of dudes problem when talking to women and asking them out is taking rejection personally. If you really like her and think highly of her, you wouldn't get angry if she respectfully turned you down.

It's actually kind of endearing, in a weird way, when a guy tries to be suave but comes across as completely out of his element and awkward. But pity dates a good relationship does not make. It's better overall if they just learn to have some self confidence and act normal. These guys never learned that so they're stuck being awkward forever, trying to figure out why they still aren't pulling even though they said the "magic words" correctly.
Their like “she doesn’t know what she wants, she’s a child” until she consents to have sex then she’s fully capable of her own thoughts. So she’s not to be treated like an adult until you get what you want, yk…like a child.

for guys who swear up and down that women aren't funny, it's amazing how some of them rely so heavily on rehearsed lines to get a women to even talk to them in the first place.
Fr and I got angry male comments saying like "so what we're not allowed to talk to women now?? *insert words to insult women *" Like... Um no. Do you go to the grocery and start having a conversation with random man in an isle?? Heck would YOU like it if your doing some shopping and a random guys bother you trying to start a conversation while your just trying to do some chores then he gets personally upset because you don't give them the attention they want?? Or do you only do it to girls you find hot?? These men think their "nice" for being "decent" to women and think they deserve something for even trying to hit on a women.
advise to people who don't know how to talk to women: do not take advice from a book by a man that calls himself an expert. In fact, don't take advice from anyone that wants you to pay for it. Also, women are not a separate species. If you can't say the same type of stuff to women that you say to the guys to get them to like you, maybe reconsider what type of stuff you say to the guys.
I've just gotta say... coming up to me, snatching something out of my hands and then insisting that you know what I want better than I do is a _really_ good way to get me to immediately become hostile.
My biggest pet peeve throughout middle/high school was boys snatching my items out of my hands in an attempt to flirt. They think they are being cute, but I cannot fathom how anyone would think that move would work
Also, a woman would have to be braindead to not immediately know why this random dude is aggressively congratulating her on her choice of doritos, lol.
Not even my gynaecological surgeon would have described himself as a “Master Opener of Women”. If he had, I definitely would have never allowed him to cut me open.

Fun fact you can clip underground and jump up under any npc with the women tag and you can talk to them 20 without her ignoring you after 2 letting you get to level 4 very quickly
My funniest encouter with someone like this was in War Thunder where some guy spent a month sending me a hey every time I started the game, never carried on the conversation any further, then called me a bitch when I hadn't become his girlfriend. Just recently, a famous comedian in my country proclaimed that “flirting and seduction is dead” after a celebrity got convicted for STALKING one of his female employees. This celebrity sometimes literally sent 70 messages in consecutive order, many of which were gross and obscene. And him being convicted somehow means that “PC culture killed flirting”. like WHAT???
Reminds me of a post I saw a while back that said something along the lines of "men will say PC culture ruined flirting but then their idea of flirting is telling the waitress her body is way too sexy for her to be doing this job"

Youknow, in Dutch, the word for woman, female and wife is the same. And the word for husband, man and male is the same too. It's vrouw and man. If you get married, the only thing that changes is that instead of being 'een vrouw' (a woman/female) you are now 'his vrouw' and he will say; 'I am her man.' It's the one that you've picked to be yours and they have picked you to be theirs. If you really try to say husband or wife, you'd likely use the word echtgenoot/echtgenote which means "companion-who's-presence-I-enjoy in marriage." Genootje is a bit like the humanisation of 'little pleasure/enjoyment' and klasgenootje is your classmate. Someone who you enjoyed being in class with.
This is a small thing but I love that when Drew plays out a convo with a lady he doesn't, like, put a towel or a bad wig on his head or even change his tone. It's v refreshing for some reason
Some of the people who use the weird towel thing just use it to quickly convey that the character's a woman through common images, because it's easiest when working with quick sketches (tiktok, yt shorts, whatever they use on instagram). And on the other hand, some people are just gross.
@@faceyl The towel really isn’t even sexist. Yes, women having long hair is a stereotype. But’s it a pretty basic and obvious stereotype. Most women tend to have long hair. Unless someone uses it as some kind of insult or ridicule, there’s nothing inherently sexist about it.
Just the other night a man was hitting on me at a bar and I explained that I'm gay and I'm not interested in men. He said that I'm too pretty to be gay and I'm a waste of a human being because I won't be sleeping with men or having children. The guys in this twitter thread seem to think that women only exist to be with men as well, they're just more subtle about it.

He went off on this tangent that those guys prolly were just in those areas looking to rape anyhow. Which sure, fair enough point, those were high traffic, public areas. But that's not the point. I told him, when he read those articles, at no point did he, as a 6 foot 2, completely shredded, grown ass man, worry about HIS safety playing Pokemon. For most guys, their safety walking 2 blocks to school from their trolley stop, or playing Pokemon in a public park, is the last thing they would ever worry about. Meanwhile, I speed walk, desperately clutching my pepper spray, and avoid being alone in public when I can. Most guys will never understand. The tweet at 4:22 is honestly so telling. "She'll respond because it seems innocent" This is why women don't trust men they don't know. This is why when men claim they're just being friendly, we don't believe them. Any good faith we have is used against us, so we learn not to approach conversations with strange men in good faith.
@@OltskuMP This is literally about safety. What part of not trusting strangers (in this case, strange men whose motives are unknown) says incel to you? They didn't say that all men are bad and should never be trusted; they said that they don't trust men they don't know.
I know right? And then they gaslight us and say we're overthinking and "no one does that". Like, other than personal experiences, it's ALL over the internet like this.
I really like when Drew talks about more serious topics, I wouldn't mind at all if he made a second channel to hear more about his opinions on topics that are not always fun to talk about, I feel like he has great insights. I understand why he wouldn't want to, but it would be great.

"At their core, men like this don't view women as people." Dang, I came here for laughs and this video was actually so wholesome. It's really refreshing to see a guy who understands this and is hopefully positively influencing people in his fan base.
Well in my opinion, it seems refreshing to you to hear a guy say "women are people too", because most guys just know this already and live their lives knowing it without having to say it. Our mothers teach us well. The problem is that the stupid minority of creepy men who treat women like objects are so loud and obvious and in your face at the supermarket that it starts to make girls think all men are like that. Yes there are alot of horrible creeps out there but I'm sure most men know better than to harass women. I know a girl that was harassed by two different men during one walk through the town center. It pissed her off so much and she ranted about awful and creepy and disgusting men are. Now don't get me wrong, I want those two guys buried for being such scum bags. But she also passed literally hundreds of men in town who didn't say or do anything wrong. Most men are basically nice. Not saints. But decent enough. It's that small percentage of creepy rapey type fly trolls that give us all a bad image I'm afraid. Am I wrong? Does anyone actually have statistics on how many guys out of 100 need telling that women are people too? With all due respect.
You really hit the nail on the head when saying they don't view women as people. Men like this genuinely, without exaggeration, view women as subhuman. Also whenever they write out how they expect the woman to respond I am genuinely shocked, are they really THAT clueless? Do they ever actually talk to real people our in the world, or is their concept of social interaction based solely on media and pickup artists?
@TRIPESKA Music Group You know, whenever men in the 21st century say that women should "save themselves for marriage" it just makes me think they're awful in bed and want to trap women with a legal contract before they find out that they're committing to a terrible sex life.
@TRIPESKA Music Group >"Women should save themselves for marriage!!!!" >Instantly tries to get clout on the internet by bragging about getting laid There's no such thing as "sexual market value" or whatever, but you still managed to find a way to have the worst fucking values a human could possibly have.

Were men present, or were you just surrounded by women? That’s sickening behavior, though. I’m glad you made it away safely. Kudos to those that did help you.

It’s this crazy concept that when you respect their boundaries and treat them like an actual friend they become interested In you.

My good guy friend plays Pokemon Go, and one day we were talking about it. I told him I used to until there were reports women were getting raped at high traffic areas, so I stopped. Now in that situation, the pursuer will probably apologize, but only to the man the girl is with. This tells us that yes, sexually driven men don't view women as having much agency. At the end of the day, it's the horniest of the few that is dragging the reputation of the normal majority. I think we should behave more respectfully, too.

Drew's impersonation of a pickup artist is really perfected by the shirt with way too many buttons undone
The only thing missing was the shirt being so tight that the buttons are strained to the point of flying off if he exhales too hard, and the cloth between the buttons refuses to lie flat.
The tweet at 4:22 is honestly so telling. "She'll respond because it seems innocent"
This is why women don't trust men they don't know. This is why when men claim they're just being friendly, we don't believe them. Any good faith we have is used against us, so we learn not to approach conversations with strange men in good faith.

I have a theory that when men realize they're getting older, they panic. So they hope to get with younger girls so that they can feel young again.

The beautiful thing about just being awkward and sincere is that I don't _scare_ people. The worst they're gonna think about me is "aw, that person was awkward", and then never think about me again. Most of these lines will have a girl wondering if you're following her home.

I've been groped, had my hair aggressively pulled and a knife pulled out on me because some men really do think that is how you impress women. Thankfully I was surrounded by a bunch of badass ladies that helped extricate me from the situations. Funnily enough, no man has ever tried to help when I was in danger.
Where the fuck do you live @_@
Were men present, or were you just surrounded by women? That’s sickening behavior, though. I’m glad you made it away safely. Kudos to those that did help you.
I’m a man and once turned a male colleague in when I found out he was sexually harassing and cornering women to intimidate them into sleeping with him. Sadly, societal conditioning had me feeling like I was a “little bitch” or a “snitch” lol It blows my mind how many people dismiss immoral behavior and stand by knowing someone needs help. Many women had these experiences, and many men and women knew about his harassment but never tried to stop it. I was even yelled at by a male manager for reporting the harasser’s behavior because “touching isn’t rape” 🤦♂️🤦♂️
