Is this the best place to live in Texas? Where are the best beaches in Texas? Well, we're finally going to see for ourselves as we start RVing the Texas Gulf Coast! We're staying in Port Aransas, just 30 minutes from Corpus Christi, and close to Mustang Island State Park and Padre Island National Seashore. We really enjoyed our time on the Texas Coast and will definitely be back.

I was there in summer 1997 with my GF. I remember we drove a Nissan Justy, a very small car, we put 5 USD in a letter box for the "camping site", which was just a small wood construction with showers.We set the tent , then we drove for the diner in Corpus Cristi area. Back to the tent at night, a very strong thunderstorm obliged us to pack the tent in the trunk, and as we turned on the lights , millions of big crabs were all around us.
As a native Texan, just a tip, the best months on the Texas coast are probably September/October before cold fronts start rolling in. Calmest winds, most clear/blue waters are in Sept, unless there's a hurricane.
Too hot in September, EXTREMELY hot
@idk-xj6wv I will just abt guarantee that in mid Sept in Padre you'll see Temps no higher than abt 90, which really isn't that hot. D.C. and NYC hit 90, as do most of the rest of the country.
Now you go inland to somewhere like McAllen or worse, Laredo, and yeah, it may be 110. But on Padre Island? Nah, not at all.
Late Sept through Oct is the best time for weather and clear blue waters.
September-October is our favorite time to be in the Rockport - Port A area
I'm originally from the coast of Texas, specifically Galveston county and I gotta say, I miss it SO MUCH!! I live in Austin now, which is so overrated, expensive, and extremely woke! I miss my home on the Gulf Coast!!
We were at sandfest this weekend as well. The sand sculptures were amazing. We love Port A. To be honest the beach is full a lot of the time even without a special event going on. We were there in Oct on a random weekend and it was packed with RVs, campers and folks fishing.
Seems that way, we’ll stay on the beach for a few days next time around! Thanks for sharing!

Don’t waste your money on RV TP. Walmart’s TP is “septic tank safe”, which means Rv safe. The proof is putting a test piece in water and watch it dissolve. Love your video!!!

Stumbled on to you guys channel accidentally while watching another RV channel. I love it. Y’all are so much fun. My wife and I are RVers for 7 years after we both retired. Used to go to Port A every 3 day weekend from DFW area. Keep up the excellent TH-cam videos. They’re fantastic.
Last week you were at my favorite places in Austin and New Braunfels. This week Port A. A few quick pointers. SandFest is best on the Monday after, the sculptures are still up and no crowds. The RV park you got propane, Pioneer Beech Resort is the best, and beach access. And from Austin you could have came down Hwy 123 to Hwy 181 to the ferry crossing and saved a lot of miles. Safe travels!

Welcome to the neighborhood!!! You picked the perfect little Texas Beach Town. I moved to South Texas in 98 and Port A is one of my favorite places. Hope yall checked out Rockport. We live in the area, Port A and Rockport are by far our favorite towns in the Corpus Christi Area. We just bought a travel trailer and I have been dying to hit the road. Glad you enjoyed the area!

Love your videos, I’ve noticed that you’re not using tire chocks beside the x chocks. You should get some if you don’t have them. X chocks are more for stabilizing the rig.

The Texas Gulf Coast goes from Port Arthur to Brownsville. You obviously didn't go to Port Arthur and MacFaddin beach.
