What To Do In Austin, Texas? | Austin Travel Guide - RV Newbie Road Trip Series [USA]
What to eat in Austin? Where to go in Austin? Best places to visit in Austin?
What can we say, Austin was a trip!! After making it through the Texas Freeze, we were luckily to have a couple days of sun to explore the city of Austin, Texas! By no means is this an "Austin Texas Travel Guide" since we didn't do much research beforehand but sometimes it's just best to roam around and just wing it, this video was the result of that! 💪🏽
But of course we also had to do some of the clichés like eat legit BBQ, walk South Congress Street, climb to Mount Bonnell, and enjoy live music on 6th Street! 🙌🏽
And make sure to stick around to the end to see Olivia back up the travel trailer for the first time! 🤠

I am a TRUE Austinite. I was born here in 73, and yes, you guys did pick many cliche things to do, but you enjoyed them and it was beautiful to see. Austin has changed before my eyes. The "transplants" have over saturated this city and have changed it in ways that are not a reflection of what COOL Austin used to be. If you encountered rude people I can guarantee you they aren't from Austin and definitely not from Texas. Come back for another visit. Let ME show you Austin!!!

Just a little beginner tip for backing up. If you hold the steering wheel at the bottom, the trailer will go the direction that you turn the wheel.

The Californian vibe in Austin is a good thing.
The subtle shade on Californians bummed me out. I plan to visit Austin from CA soon and I was hoping this video would provide some good info. It did tho despite the not so southern hospitality.

Californians are pushy hypocrites with zero self awareness. You left your State of California because you screwed it up with your crap politics and you come to Texas and spread like a virus.

People out here are very rude..
People here are terrible,and I'm also too afraid to go downtown now because of having watched homeless people fight,seeing used needles on the ground,ect. And I know it isn't just down town,but there's a large number of homeless people down town,also the people from Iowa are a lot more friendly,and just genuinely nice,if u want friendly people definitely don't look for them in Austin.
@@shelbycurtis8885 hey Shelby! I'm living in Austin too coming from New Orleans. It's alright but I see what you were saying. I done enjoy downtown that much. But I eat a more tacos now lol. It's hard to find diverse foods here compared to other cities

@@shelbycurtis8885 after 2.5 years in Austin I am sad to say no longer do my friendly gestures and smiles to strangers. I don't even hold doors for old people bc even they are rude out here. My gf was recently promoted and we now have to move to Dallas in a few months. Looking forward to a new chapter and giving human beings another try in another city lol

Hi 👋 You guys are doing Great 👍 A little tip we do on backup into a camp site is the spotter uses driver side & passenger side, instead of left or right (less confusing his lift or your lift 😉)

is this video made in feb or march 2021? I will visit in feb 2023, so i just want to know if it is cold in feb in Austin, especially i saw a lot ice in the beginning of the video talking about winter storms. thanks. Also i am glad to know you two fight over driving. husband and I always argue over driving.
I'm pretty new to the whole travel trailer myself. I have noticed that backing the tailer in on the driver's side makes things much easier. It's way easier to see. Not sure if it makes sense or not..
That's so true and totally makes sense. We try to do that any chance we get but sometimes RV parks are set up where you have to do it on the other side which is definitely more difficult. In this case, we already pulled up from that side so instead of driving around I had Olivia just go for it on that side lol 😂it was a good challenge, thanks for watching Sev!! :)

We went to bucces a couple years ago. Such a huuuge gas station. We werent actually too impressed with their food huge selection but not super amazing tasting.
I know it's MASSIVE haha same for us, some of the food was good and some of it was so-so but it was just cool to have so many options!! Def a great place to stop! :)

Hey Nena! Not hating on California. We're actually from there, too. We just simply said we noticed there are a lot of Californian's in Austin. Some Austinites shared with us (when we told them that we were from CA) that they don't like how some Californian's are coming over and trying to change their city to be more like California. It's a big topic there now. But we have nothing to compare Austin to since this was our first experience. 👍🏽

its all e-scooters and rent exploitation. not a nice place to live really. i have a green card, but i would not go back to that. i dont rate that lifestyle at all.

Hey Shelby, we also saw that side of the city and it did sadly remind us of San Francisco's situation as well (still better than San Fran though)...has this been happening for a while in Austin?
@@ONWorldTravel it had been happening for a while just not on this level,it didn't get this bad until "camp anywhere" was passed,and fortunately people have been making a petition to have it banned due to the fact that there's homeless people setting up in neighborhoods and leaving used needles on the ground,not only that but there's a ton of violence now,last Friday on my way home I watched a homeless woman get beat on a sidewalk,I don't even work in a bad area,there's also the issue that some of them have been urinating and defecating in public places,Austin has always had a homeless issue but it wasn't this bad,it's just unbelievable.
No masks! In Texas they save lives by running motorcycles with drag pipes.
It’s super painful watching her have the face mask backwards and nobody telling her in any stores
but it's cute 🥴
