If you had invested $100 in Apple stock on September 16, 1997, the day Steve Jobs returned to Apple, your investment would be worth $14,670 today. 14,000% return. I missed out investing in Steve Jobs, I'm not missing out on investing in Elon Musk.
But to get the return of Steve Jobs, you really need the ultimate lows of Apple. To be comparable Tesla stock would need to be below $20 a share. Putting all the initial option underwater.

I just turn off the media and stop looking at the stock market when things drop. And buy with every cent I can get my hands on.
The next stop is actually the $400-$415 high. We are making higher highs and higher lows. We just hit the low so we should be on our way back up. With highland and cybertruck coming, it looks like it will continue this pattern

Your guess is no better than anyone else's re the short term. Charts are useless, re being able to actually outperform the market over time after trading expenses.

You nailed it. ...the opportunities of how easy it is to anticipate Wall streets predictable responses. I've made $ in the last two years because of this.
I think we see the Model 3 refresh and Cybertruck deliveries and v12 FSD soon, perhaps by end of October, and that should drive the stock past $300.

The way the dumb investors think some make money trading in and out and most lose their ass.
You just described some friends of mine - I've been telling them what they should be doing for the last 25 years but still they trade in and out and talk about what they've made. Me, I hardly ever sell - been holding tech stocks since 2000 including Tesla of course. Who do you think is doing way better now? Those friends of mine have been earning about the same as me, similar living costs. They just don't understand investing - for them it's more like gambling. I think Warren Buffet said the problem with stocks is they are too easy to sell.

Hey TE. We've been on this ride before but the only thing that has changed is the health of Tesla as a company, your ability to handle the swings and your perspective. For me it's another go around with the wildest ride of my life in investing so I think I've proven I have the stomach for it. I'm not expecting a lot this year to the positive, BUT I have taken advantage of the very red negative days. Where Tesla will be in 7 years from now (remember when we use to talk about that) is anyone's guess and that was all before we found out about the Bot, the CT was still being figured out and model Y was on it's way to being the best selling car IN THE WORLD. When things got crazy back then, Elon's statement that model Y would achieve that was just a hope and a dream.
I still have my target number and now it looks like it will be here well before 2030 which isn't bad. Like you I have to figure out when to start enjoying some of those gains instead of always looking for the next "peak" to climb.
I wish to go to Hawaii in the future and as this past few weeks has again shown, we cannot guarantee that our "paradise" will be around when we are ready to go. Let's make the most of each day, enjoy the little things and see what's next. It's still the most exciting ride and I think the next two years or less (macro forces factoring in) we might see something incredible in the short term and there is always something more exciting in the long term.
swings are huge opportunities. sell at 300 but at 120 win win.

@@GET2222 You do realize even in pure EVs, BYD is not far behind Tesla, right? They are projected to surpass Tesla by end of next year in pure EVs. And their hybrids are actually growing just as fast because not everyone wants pure EVs.
A lot of fudsters on here today. Buy stonks, keep them long term (5+ years), sell them when price goes up. Have conviction, don't day trade. Work simple jobs with little stress, retire richer than average. How hard can that be?

You’re right! The current market might give opportunities to maximize profi.t, but in order to execute such effective transactions, you must be a skilled practitioner.

Your comment shows little understanding of the production process - I suggest you just forget about those details and just concentrate on volumes for your analysis.
How is a gut feel GUESS on one product's timing worth ANYTHING over an investment time frame?

Lee, the volatility has NOTHING to do with Tesla's performance -- it is speculators with huge positions dumping great quantities to finance other speculation...

If you can't admit that re knowing the future accurately, we're ALL ignorant, then you're clueless.
THAT'S the reason sane people diversify their portfolios (presuming their investments are for financial growth and security instead of to score political or green points).
I say this as a patient TSLA long who is also WELL diversified re my overall portfolio, for decades now.

It's unlikely to pop at release - we'll have to wait for VOLUME production and associated revenue to show up.
20-30 MEGAPACKS COMING, IMO. They have to to reach their mission, since few others can/will produce the needed batteries.

Very well said! Thanks for this. A lot of people in the Tesla community try to push woolen to only buy Tesla, but you need to diversify so you don’t get wiped out.
Warren Buffet is smart and does not diversify much or recommend it. Mr Buffet said, “Diversification is a protection against ignorance”.
The Market is forward looking 6 to 9 months ahead only. So this price target is not reflecting all of the potentials that Tesla is bringing onto the table…
You are wrong completely about the stock price in the future
Lee is going to sell at $300, buys APPL and wait for TSLA to go down to the low 200s to buy back. However, TSLA will only go down to $260 after Q3 earnings and then goes straight to $400 from there. If you can retire with TSLA at $300, go for it. Just don't make another FOMO video after it hits $400.
I hope no one gets impatient. Sure fire way to lose money.

With this most recent drop, TSLA's volatility is brought clearly back into focus if for some reason we lost sight of that fact. It won't take much for this to blow past absolute highs in the not too distant future. The entire market's mood needs to change and then combine that with the dismal future facing all the legacy makers compared to Tesla's continued mega growth and we could easily see another FOMO "to the moon".
Here's my latest disaster scenario: China mandates to CATL that only Chinese companies will get the enhanced 4C LFP batteries, leaving Tesla (literally) out in the cold. Chinese cars will be able to run with 10% smaller batteries and have 5-10 minute charging times on road trips with better cold weather charging performance.
Im long term Tesla, but its going lower short term maybe under 100. China and US recession coming very soon.
