In my opinion, one of Elon’s greatest strengths is his willingness to try things and, if they go pear-shaped, to admit that he made a mistake, correct it and move on. I am also a big Dave Lee fan. Your analysis of Tesla and the stock market is always cogent and Elon pays attention to your tweets. Watching the Twitter saga devolve into a personal smear campaign against Elon and seeing Elon waste his time hiring hardcore streetfighters for a new litigation department is like watching a modern-day version of the tragic stories of Midas and Icarus. Can you think of a way to convince Elon to just walk away from this accursed Twitter deal ($1B breakup fee notwithstanding) and get back to performing his "everyday" miracles, like sharing his vision for Tesla in Master Plan Part 3, wowing the engineering world with Tesla AI Day #2, and launching the first manned spaceship to Mars?

How could you not be bullish on tesla after watching this

Basically, Tesla is an engineer; other auto companies are just like a factory worker. Both are building cars. That's the only difference here. BTW, Tesla silicon is a huge deal and it could be much better if we can know a little more about this team. As far as I know, Tesla used air cooling for the FSD board at first, and then changed to liquid cooling to improve heat dissipation. If that still hold true until today, I would say that their FSD chip is not that "power efficient" like Elon said.

Those are good arguments, but what is more important continuing to put your energy as the chief creative officer into what your company can really be or put your energy into the culture war that you are putting your energy right now. At this point I am ok with that because it will bring Tesla to a great new entry point level for Investors.

Put simply “Tesla made greater net profits in Q1 than Ford and GM combined, matching those of Toyota. Tesla is different to other car companies by being more vertically integrated and this increases profitability by controlling costs and by innovating better cars. There is an EV tsunami coming to the car market and Tesla is surfing high on that wave”

I don't understand why someone would pay a lowly flight attendant a $250,000 severance if there's not some smoke there.

Exactly. And Elon has repeatedly said that he would never settle if he's in the right and never fight if he's in the wrong.

Insurance is still a bit tricky. I bought my tesla with tesla insurance, and two months later, I got my house insurance bill with a $2000.00 increase. Because I no longer have “home + car” package deal, I have to cancel my tesla insurance and gone back to Farmers Insurance. So sad.

Yes! Tesla is a huge conglomerate that is focused on one thing (you missed that Dave!); they are focused on solving the public transportation system and saving the planet !!
And then when the humanoid robots come, they will solve the labour problem and free humans, finally, from ever working for survival! If anyone wants to work for pleasure, then he or she would be free to do so!

When Elon said that about 1 Mil will have FSD by the end of the year, I wonder if that means he will distribute it to all who bought it in those countries that allow it?

Very cool - for the stock market though it needs to be translated into numbers ..... which would mean they would need to circumnavigate around the Shanghai lock-down constant pressure ..... ? otherwise things will continue to be shaky in the short term .... in the long term things look positive ....

I think that people miss the biggest implication of Tesla insurance. When Tesla creates a robo-taxi that is going to drive around by itself and pick up passengers.... what insurance company is going to take on that risk? They either won't insure it or the rates will be astronomical. For robo-taxi/autonomous to be feasible Tesla has to be able to self-insure. The profit/benefit to customers is great, but in reality it's another example of Tesla looking way down the road and addressing a potentially game changing issue before it becomes insurmountable. When any other manufacturer tries to compete on the fully autonomous front... this will be just one more huge competitive advantage in Tesla's pocket.

I checked out the Tesla Insurance and in Texas t was no better (actually even more expensive) than my existing insurance. Maybe the case Elon gave where the driver is up against a demographic the Tesla policy will provide a benefit, but I'm not up against those stats. I also added a driver monitoring feature to my insurance which brought the premiums down even further. The data acquired with that app (which runs on a phone) is certainly not even near as comprehensive as the data that Tesla can pull, but I guess to stay competitive my insurance company is OK with settling for the sparse feedback from the app, and offering up to 30% additional discount.

Hi, I agree the Supercharger network makes the car a better product or better user experience. These people that sell their Tesla and buy another EV are going to learn this, unless they only charge at home or work. The real reason I am writing is I want to hear of user experience of a Model Y with 4680 made in Texas. I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
