A bit of a different video for you all.
Me and Sohee Lee have a casual conversation about calorie tracking.
"Should you track calories?" We give some opinions based on our experience and the type of clients we have worked with.
"Do we track calories?" We give some background on our own food psychology and why Sohee found calorie tracking beneficial whereas I believed meticulous calorie tracking was probably a bad idea for me.
Do you track calories? If so, what has been your experience? Have you found it beneficial, neutral or damaging, both in terms of body composition and psychology?

It helped me a lot in the beginning of the process to KNOW how much calories I ate in a day/week and set some goals for myself. Now I just track it now and then just to know if I'm not under-eating protein

This is an incredibly nuanced view that I appreciate. As someone who has found near-daily tracking while “flexible dieting” relatively easy over the last 6 years, I do think it comes down to personality & neuroticism. It’s helpful if one tends to under-eat once those healthful habits are established.

great video!! as a skinny guy trying to gain weight and muscle. Tracking calories has been the only way that has worked for me to finally start putting on weight.
I like tracking now, but I appreciate the nuance saying it's not a must for everyone

Excellent video. I find it appropriate being an endomorph who tends to eat until full at each meal without caloric measurement involved.
I have went from 260 to 229 now thanks to counting, although one might be apprehensive to take me on as an exemplary figure considering some days I only eat 1,000 calories
