This video goes over some of the disordered eating issues I suffered from when I was younger.
A lot of hardcore bodybuilding cultures will probably exacerbate issues like this, especially when people are dieting to extremely low levels of body fat.
So let's discuss "cheat meals", "clean eating" and food paranoia.

Thank you so much for sharing this. As someone who is working on fixing her disordered eating habits, it helps to know that people I absolutely admire have/ are also struggling. Again, thank you!

Love that James Smith & yourself take the time to call out the bullshit of the so called "health & well being" lucrative industry. Like all fun things in life, balance !!
Love your work, short, sharp to the point !

Thank you for coming out and letting the public know how this affects people with "hard bodies" too.

Thank you for sharing this, Ben - I knew someone who was torturing themselves with just chicken and rice and peas and broccoli in their quest to become a PT, because they knew someone who espoused the same destructive dietary advice you've cautioned in this video.
I am learning so much from you

Fantastic message! Thankyou! Jen Comas, Molly Galbraith and MegSquats all have similar stories, and the journey back to ‘relaxed’ eating is quite hard.

Such an important message!!! I suffered with an eating disorder for over 20years thinking I was being “healthy” but just restricting more and more foods in a bunch of different ways (keto, paleo, vegan, hcg, diet pills). Because people with great bodies are looked at as “goals” we don’t realize that almost everyone suffers with disordered eating behaviors and it’s totally normalized by the diet and fitness industry

Because someone has a great physique has NOTHING to do with an ED 🙄

I gained some weight recently (unintentionally) and last time I weighed myself I was actually 85kg. I think since going into lockdown I have probably dropped a bit again so am probably hovering around 82-83kg

I think orthorexia is a very poorly understood thinking/eating pattern.

10 mins strict rowing, 2x sets of 30 push ups. Repeat twice and a few weights for a laugh. Cut back on carbs, but not fanatically and only in the evening. Just cracked 70 secs dead hang, age 74.
