    Wow, my mom is the carer and I the sick one. As soon as I met my spouse and disentangled from my mom, she moved away to have a carer bond with my sister. I still feel the need to tell her when I have a health problem… I didn’t know why I felt compelled to get attention this way from her. I didn’t know why I wanted to have sickness. We were enmeshed for 30 years. Your video/research is so insightful!

    You know when you hear people saying, after my children grew up and left I didn't know what to do so I went and found something else to care for like a dog, cat, an orphaned child, that is what popped into my mind. It is like the person has no idea what to do unless they find something or someone to care for. When they are in the care space they can do a lot of things outside of themselves, but without it, it is like the whole world is crumbling around them and they don't know which way to go. Is that aligned with what you are describing?
