    Just a tip, they don't change the power in the 500s and smaller bikes because in most markets in the world, most riders only go up to an A2 license, which limits them to 500cc and 49hp, so Honda and the other manufacturers make those bikes to comply with the European and Asian market also.

  • @QuasiMotard
    @QuasiMotard 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    First! The new 5" TFT gauges are a long-overdue improvement and look great on all of the middleweight bikes. IMHO, the NX500 rebrand of the CB500X is a bit of a let-down... it seems to be more of a marketing trick than a revival of the NX namesake. It needs proper tubeless-spoked rims and more off-road cred to fill the NX's shoes.
    I'm still holding my breath for Honda NA to bring the ADV350, Hornet 750, and/or the NT1100 to the States. I'm turning blue holding my breath in anticipation. To pass out or just pass... that is the question! 🤣👍 --QM

      I agree with you about the tft display but apparently I’m one of those weirdos that really like the current display on the cbr650r😜. Of course I’m an old guy and “simpler is better” for me - and it’s super easy to read. Overall I like a lot of the Honda updates though.

    I think the 650 range has more than enough power anyway. I'm just hoping with this new 2024 version that Australia gets the full powered version than just the neutered learner version. A choice given by practically every other manufacturer.

    I want them to add the LED headlight on the U.S. spec CRF300L like they did for the Australian market. Kawasaki updated their KLX300 with quality LED lighting and it makes the 300L look old.

    I’m getting older. I now get excited about the new scooters and mini motos the might come stateside.
    Like many others, I’d LOVE to see a 160 Ruckus that stays true to the bare bones minimalist, customizable styling.

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      lol I hear ya bud! The older I get, the more the mini bikes excite me after picking up my first Grom back in 2013. It really opened up my eyes to the fact that you don't have to have ALL the horsepower in the world to have fun. It brought me back to being a kid again and remembering how much fun can be had with small bikes.
      Oh yeah, a Ruckus 160 would sell like hot cakes! Why they haven't thrown one of their many 110 / 125 / 150 / 160 engines in there and given it a whirl - has baffled me for MANY years. They wouldn't have to do anything else but throw a larger engine in there and they'd see a huge rush in Ruckus sales and help bring it back to where it used to be as its sales are nowhere near what they used to be. Thanks to all of the other options in the mini and scooter segments.
      Really appreciate ya watching and hopping in the conversation bud ;)

    honda lost me as a customer after I was bored of my cbr500r, the upgrade to the middle range sucked with no tech and old looks but this new revamp of the cbr600rr and the 650r has me really tempted to go and put a deposit on one.

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah buddy, it's definitely going to shake things up for sure!
      That's a good question and something I meant to dive into a bit but I was going to save it for the "deep dive" video into the E-Clutch. I haven't been able to confirm with my contacts at Honda just yet but I don't think it's going to be an easy task when trying to fit it to existing models as it ties into so much within the wiring harness, gauge display, ECU etc. While the transmission isn't different, there's a LOT of other little things at play, to make it all work together but... if we've learned anything, where there's a will (and a lot of $$ lol), there's a way - so we'll probably see a way to try and retrofit it to different models after these are released and people / companies can really dive into how it all works and what needs to be tied into it etc. I'm pumped to see where it heads though and can't wait to try it out!
      Appreciate ya watching and hopping in the conversation too bud ;)

    No one provides more information than you in a compact 11 minute video, one stop shop for all things Honda, great work Kevin! That new E Clutch system is interesting, not sure it's for me but I'd sure like to try one. I'd sort of like for Honda to upgrade/refresh the 500 p-twin to a 270 crank design and maybe add a few horses, you cannot deny it's reliability however so it stands to reason why it's still here. I recently dipped my toe into the CFMoto water, I have the 450SS and NK versions, they both have the 270 crank design which I like and power is pretty impressive, not to mention they sound great, now, we'll see how they hold up... Good work man, keep it up!!

    • @HondaProKevin
      @HondaProKevin  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're too kind bud... to say I really appreciate the kind words and support is a massive understatement ;)
      Oh yeah, super interesting and it's possibly going to be one of those love or hate things with no in-between. I love quickshifters and like the easy of the DCT with being able to be lazy and not use the clutch when in traffic etc BUT the big kicker is going to be how well that system blends it all together. You'd think Honda will have all of the kinks worked out and there won't be any issues as they know there are going to be a TON of eyeballs on this and if the initial rollout is botched by any sort of issue, its future will be tainted forever. Kind of like ES ATV models back in the day that had issues at first when it was released and people still question it and are scared of it, 20+ years later, despite them pretty much having it perfected now.
      I couldn't agree with you more on wanting to see them throw a 270 crank in those 500 twins! One things for sure, they're definitely milking every last penny to try and recoup the R&D money spent to develop those engines back in 2013. More than a decade later and no performance increase is a shame but we've got licensing restrictions around the world to thank for that as they put them at 46.9 to meet the A2 category and sales for those models are so much higher in those countries, compared to the US - that it doesn't make sense to improve their power output. Which needless to say, sucks in the grand scheme of things. In a perfect world, they'd do it anyways and just offer a different A2 tune for lower horsepower to sell in those areas, like they do with other models that make more horsepower.
      Oh really? That's awesome man! I've been keeping my eyes on them and have went down the wormhole of videos on TH-cam about them and from someone that has yet to see one in person - it looks like CFMoto is on the ball! Which one are you liking more so far out of the SS / NK? Bang for the buck, those bikes bring a LOT to the table and if they can hold up, all of the big players are going to have a problem as they've been on the ball with every segment of the powersports world from two wheels to four. One things for sure though, they're being taken a lot more seriously nowadays than they were just a short time ago. Side note, where have you been snatching yours up? Cleveland? Haven't checked their dealer locator in a while but if my memory is correct, our closest options were Jasper and Cleveland.
      As always, really appreciate the continued support over all these years - means more than ya know... Take care and ride safe out there bud ;)

      Yessir, it's my pleasure, I surf youtube a LOT, I'm not one for long videos with a lot of rhetoric, you do a great job at giving the details with some humor mixed in!
      I think Honda will do a great job with the E Clutch, it'll take actual buyers a bit to wrap their minds around it but I think it'll be good, like you said about the ES ATV's, it took a long time for folks to trust it.
      I actually bought the SS (fully faired version) used with only 155 miles, it's sort of a back breaker for my old bones but having tried the kool-aid, I was pretty much convinced, this is what got me thining about the naked NK version, I gotta say that I'm equally as impressed with it as the SS, it feels faster because you're more upright but I'm sure it isn't, only concern I have at the moment is with the new one, the transmission feels unusually stiff, I'm hoping some miles and an oil change will help, fingers crossed. I bought the NK in Cleveland, you can forget about getting deals on them, I was quoted as high as $8300 for the NK (retails for $5,399) and the best price was $6,900 from the Cleveland dealer out the door, so the retail prices are a little misleading. Let me get some miles on them and you can come swing a leg over them and try them out. Oh, Jasper doesn't sell the street bikes.

    The 500 family/hub was just dismantled, rebranded and sent to play with their corresponding new family names 😅
    650r's were the guinea pigs with the E-clutch thing but NOT giving them the Hornet electronics!!
    As a current '19 cb650r owner my beloved bike is a difficult one to let go because the new model has just only that e-clutch and that was it...
    If they included the Hornet electronics modes, engine braking and so on would have been an absolute YES but it is not the case... therefore as you said the e-clutch is not for everybody and is not for me.
    So trading mine just for that I don't see that happening.
    Also the Hornet 750 is horrible😂so not a chance
    Moving up as you also said the Hornet 1000 hmmm/bleh does not excites me much, seems kind of a "just lets come up with a "cheap" 1000cc" to compete with the mt09 and z900s but nothing really aspiring to get.
    I see myself closer to getting an mt09 for the first time UNLESS the Hornet 1000 comes up really deal breaking price so you read it here Honda guys
    One good thing here was the fear people had of the 4 cylinders going out probably when the 750 came out last year and everything going twins... but these models still gives 4 cylinders heartbeat❤😊

      lol yup yup, you're spot on there bud!
      Oh yeah, it's going to be super interesting to see how it all pans out with the E-Clutch and where they're headed with it next, pending how its accepted etc. I hear ya on the electronics package, it's a shame the Hornet's goodies didn't trickle over to the CB/CBR650R models. If I was a betting man, I'd say it would've drove the price up too high for it all to be thrown at it - so they opted to not throw that electronics package at it and instead decided to use it as a guinea pig for the E-Clutch. I'd LOVE to be a fly on the wall though in some of those meetings and hear the ins and outs of it all and why they decided to go this route, over another. It'd have to be super interesting to hear.
      I'm with ya there on the CB1000 Hornet. For me, if I'm buying a liter bike - I want stupid power! Otherwise, there are waaaay too many options on the table but as we've seen time and time again from Honda - they don't want to build a high horsepower naked sport bike. Obviously, they've got the engine and chassis to make it work and that's another one of those meetings where I'd love to be a fly on the wall lol! Cheap bikes are easier to sell nowadays though in numbers, so it looks like that's the route they're taking but by being a little too "cookie cutter" in the performance department, it may drive away a lot of those sales they were hoping for. It's going to be interesting to see how it pans out though and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with it. Oh yeah, don't blame you one bit there as Yamaha has absolutely knocked it out of the park on the new MT-09! Pumped to get my hands on one of those soon for a rip!
      lol yeah buddy, you couldn't be more right there as a LOT of people were really worrying that we were seeing the end of our inline-fours! Thankfully, we've still got a decent bit more time before we really have to worry about all of that mess.
      Thanks a million for not only watching but for hopping in the conversation too ;)

    Not interested in an automatic Honda motorcycle. I would gladly ride one for the day or take one for free, but a motorcycle needs a manual transmission and a clutch if I am going to buy it for myself. I prefer an automatic car or truck. Not my motorcycles.

    The 1000 hornet looks like a more boring version of the ducati streetfighter. And probably eill br more boring in rral life with substantially less power
    I hope they bring out a GB model to the US. even if its a 500 or 650 I'd be first in line at the dealer

    Yawn. Honda needs to counter Royal Enfield. I'd love to see the CB350 RS and the new CB350 BABT in the US. Why does India get the cool small bikes while we get garbage like the ugly rebel and uglier scrambler?
