The T120 is an all time favorite for me. I love the true retro style on this bike and the delivery of torque is amazing.
If they had more dealerships and part available...where I live anyway (US) .
I need more time to get used to the clutch, a bit crunky relatively.
I am a Triumph man since 1969 but it is good to see so many competitors out there now ... like BSA wow!
The Z650 and Z900 from Kawasaki are so beautiful
Agreed! They should sell a 400 version too.
Moto Guzzi is the absolute class act.
Absolutely 👍👍👍
Until your knees knock the cylinders...
@nervotica7991 what are you on about? I have 2 Moto Guzzi V7s - my 16th and 18th bikes - and what you state isn't a thing!
Yes I actually just bought one after seeing one of MotoBob's other videos!! Arrives next week!
@@williamsongarrett1 what color?
MOTOBOB, doing MOTOBOB things, and I'm here for it. Well edited, well written, well presented, and almost always worth my time. Thank you and please keep it up!
I absolutely love all of them, there's nothing more classy than retro/cafe/scrambler motorcycles.
Kawasaki's Z900rs SE is the one I bought, but I do love the classic look of the Bonneville T100/120. I may go to it as a third bike.
how is it ? i'm fond of this one and think to buy one. feel comfortable ? not too heavy ?
@@2pacgamer A little heavier than a sport bike, and the riding position is more upright. Wind buffeting does become an issue for me at after 100mph. Really fun though.
Hey MOTOBOB in case you see this just wanted to let you know I ended up buying an Moto Guzzi V7 Special the other week after watching your videos! Amazing job thank you for all of the info and work you do
Happy and safe riding! 💛
Great choice! I've got a V7 and a Griso, can't recommend them enough.
Paid 8400 cad for a new '20 Interceptor. It's a visceral rushhh! I like the stock look so I drilled 15mm holes front and back.. beautiful growl with a slight bark but not too much.. sounds like a bike should and zero outlay! I'm back riding in the rent free seventies. 😆 👍
Nice vid & list. Although forgot the Suzuki Katana & arguably the SV650. The XSR900 GP is stunning. Also love the Moto Guzzi V7's.
Just recently bought a used SV650X, and it's a peach. I'm not sure everyone would class it as a modern retro but it's an amazing all-rounder on tarmac.
@@SteveSmith-wk9dx I bought a '21 SV 2 weeks ago, it's in fact my third one. This latest version sorts out the flaws of the '16 version and is just a fantastic bike especially for the price, very underrated. It's mostly my commuter since I own a Monster 1100 Evo but I love it for more than just going to work
Great video MOTOBOB! I wish Yamaha would make an XSR-900 GP-SP. Ohlins and Brembo on the XSR-900 GP would be amazing.
I wish they would release the GP in the Americas
That is an excellent idea
I like retros but there are so many options to choose from. My 1st. Xsr900 2nd. Speedtwin1200 3rd. Z900rs 4th. R12 nine t
Man tbe xsr900 looks good to me tbe paint matters that blue to me was ugly the white and red was cool itll be interesting what they do next
Yeah, no money worries pick either Guzzi or the Speed Twin - i dig both of them!
For me is Svarpilen 801 can't wait to get it ❤❤❤
Great video Bob as always. The XSR900 GP will be the only bike I’ll be adding, as it’s already on order, to my garage in 2024. It’s absolutely gorgeous as a rider who is also old enough to have owned what it’s basically based upon in the looks department. 👍👍
XSR 900GP or the Norton commando CR would be the one I would take home.
Love the Cabellero, but not available in the USA 😢
XSR 900 GP looks amazing
Agree. Definitely my pick 👌
I think the GP version of the XSR900 really sorts out the look of the bike. The XSRs are a bit muddled in styling, and the sloping line under the tank never felt retro to me. Wrapping it in a fairing and a snappy paint job does wonders.
@@SteveSmith-wk9dx I grew up seeing bikes like this so the styling really works for me. Mid 80’s Yamaha’s are my favourite style of bike. I owned a 1996 Yamaha FZR 600 for a few years and loved it.
bit of a boomer wagon
@@BRICKSINSILK Gen X 💪
You forgot about the W800 and Rebel 1100
XSR700
W800 is no longer available in the UK. Rebel is a bit modern to be called a retro.
@@siwynjones Husqvarna is not modern?
We cant let the yamaha vstar 250 die because theyll kill it and replace it with something with worse quality control like honda did to the ol trusty rebel
DUCATI SCRAMBLER....❤🎉
XSR 700/900......❤🎉
Rest are too HEAVY and BIG..
They also gives " OLD -MAN Vibes "
( Suits for Elderly old gentlemen ). 😊👍🏻
read retro tech
Perhaps you missed the part about “retro”.
The Kawasaki Z 900 RS SE is a beauty. Just needs new blinkers and mirrors. Something retro-chromy-looking.
There are some really great looking bikes here. For me ,the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 is the best though. It's got everything that I like about bikes , it's fun , fast , and gorgeous.
Agree, I rode the Speed Twin 1200 at a dealer a few months back. It is going to take the last spot in my garage next to my Trident 660 and my son's Street Triple 765 R.
Yeah it's a fantastic machine. I've had mine for 3 years and its turned into my forever bike. I can bimble around with the mrs on the back, or go scratching with mates on sport bikes. I currently only have space for one bike and if you are willing to compromise it does everything really well.
you missed the Kawasaki W800, mate
I believe they're no longer selling it in the UK - it's not on their website for this year anyway. Shame as it's a cool bike!
I LOVE the look of the Moto Guzzi V7 but i also think the RE 650 Shotgun would be basically perfect for me and is a bit cheaper too from the dealer near me (they do both, so when im ready to buy ill be able to check both out back to back luckily!). Both are so cool though imo, and pricing isnt bad but that RE is damn near CHEAP in comparison to so many on this list lol
These are available in USA ?
Several nice bikes, but the two that make me drool are the Kawasaki 900 and the Norton. Two very different bikes, but both would be a blast to ride, both are faithful to bikes that actually existed and evoke fond memories, both are beautiful in their own way.
Hey mate what backpack are you wearing @3:47? Thanks in advance!
With no budget matter I would buy an Indian, designs are gorgeous and so stylish. But my first pick was on the Kawazaki Z900RS SE, the yellow version is too perfect for me :D
great video !
Love my scrambler Full Throttle.
alot of choice here - really useful feview, thankyou. Guzzi, Triumph.........I don't know!
Bonny Speedmaster is the most beautiful bike on the list.....that's why I bought one.
Thruxton RS final edition.
norton cafe for me all the way ..and im 72 years old and still throwing my 750 kawasaki in bends like a young lad
The Z900RS is the most beautiful bike ever made
Agreed 👍
So your definition of a "retro" bike is a round headlight? 😜
more or less , this is what you get these days
Wonderful video loved it ❤
Nice run down Bob, full price range covered. I'd go for the Triumph 400X.
for me it's the speed twin1200
I choose ALL
Few you missed:
Thruxton RS
W800
Katana
Super cub c125
Honda CL500 Scrambler also. 😅
Thruxton is discontinued
@@gpzfan5272 after 2024
Thruxton is dead
If i have money now i'll buy one of three (z900rs, xsr 900, bonnie 1200)
royal enfield is the best budget retro bike manufacturer
I'm much more interested in the Scout 101 than the Super Scout. Huge suspension improvements plus dual Brembos... and a tad more HP.
Bob was fantastic!
Bring back the XS650 Special! Kick starter and all!
good luck
I love the colour scheme on the Yamaha XSR GP. One day maybe 🤔😢
Thanks for the video, i can't make up my mind to go with the R12 ninet or the thruxton. Love both bikes but can't own both
go for the previous RnineT model, if possible the Euro3 one. better performance, better looks and better sound. only downside is the missing cornering ABS
I'd Get mee Kawa W 800.
Old (ish?🤷🏼♂️) guy here (mid 50s), that Z900RS SE really flicks my switch 👍😋... I suspect it will be my next bike once I feel too old for my tuono v4... can't I just have both?🤷🏼♂️😉😋
Im very very surprised that you didn't include Royal Enfield Classic 350. Why?
He talked about it and said their 350 bikes are a bit slow for his taste.
I bought at Kawasaki KZ900, brand new in 1975. It was a renaming of the Z1. I paid $3,000 CDN.
The best retro is the Z900RS Cafe.
Love all the videos I've seen but dude what's up with all the COMA AI sentences 😂 jokes apart,love,all,the.....videos👍🏽👍🏽🔥
If Fantic sold in the US, I'd get one in a heartbeat. I could buy one and import it to America but then I'm spending so much extra money 😢
The list starts at 2.10
Simple maintenance would probably be impossible but love the honda monkey
If live was no option, I'll go with the last one XSR900 GP
R12 or V7 for me
Great Vid MotoBob, thanks
Z900RS is a beauty.
Man i shpuld have sold my v7 that bike was something special. Guzzi ftw. Then id take the svartpilen 401 or 801 as my daily.
Some nice bikes, something for everyone.
The 2025 indian scout is the most convenient in many aspects..
Expensive. Im glad they put cruise control as an option they really needed to gave it at those prices when mt09 sp had cruise and it arguably shouldnt even have it because its a hard bike to go far on being a hypernaked
I think I would get the BMW R12 9t.
What about the cb650r?
I think this is the full lineup for 2024, except for Brixton.
If money doesn't cost anything, I'd go for the Monkey because it's funny appeal, or the Indian Super Scout to ride with the lady.
Rhe gold star just bc im a BSA guy, the kawasaki z900 rs se bc i grew up with the z1 900. But the yamaha mt09 wiukd be my mountain road curve carver...
I have some money burning a hole in my pocket. I already have a do-it-all bike, so something a bit different appeals. I like the look of the Fantic 700, but there's a couple of niggles, then there's the XSR 900 with it's fantastic engine and comfortable ergonomics, but it just doesn't look right.
Money no problem, Thruxton is my dream.
XSR 700 White + windshield ✅
bring back the Cagiva brand !!!! i missed the Mito
Looking through the comments the Kawasaki z650 and Z900 get the most thumbs up ?
Z900 no competition
tbh i hate round lights, thats the reason why i got my current bike, for the "transformer/alien" light that everyone hates, you can say im not the target audience for retro bikes. but if you ask me, that getting one of these, money is no object, my choice should be the XSR900 GP. no round lights, duh. jks aside, this one really nails the retro sport bike look but still as modern as possible.
No W800?
it's been pulled from the range in most countries.
I actually don't think the new R12 and R12 ninet look good. The previous model looked better and sportier. I dig what they're doing with both of the Svartpilens. The XSR900 is amazing and what they're doing with the GP is expensive but soooo good, if money were no object that would be the one for me out of these.
Kawasaki missed the point with the Z650. Should have been a four cylinder like the original and the 900RS
kawasaki w800, Yamaha sr 400 and CB1100rs,ex still look in 2024
Kawasaki W800 is beautiful too
need a nine bike garage instead of the three
TBH, Honda CB1100, Motoguzzi, Indian, Norton and Triump 1200 are the closest to actual retro bikes. But, I do like the Z900 Kawi.
what about yamaha RX100 (idk anything abt bikes)
Z900 anytime 🔥
Nice
Honda CB1100 all the way!!!
Z900rs is on my list
Finally someone acknowledging the amazing Fantic Caballero. Testrode the 700 the other day and very much considering it!
W800
where is Honda CL500 Scrambler ?????
Yamaha XSR 900
kawasaki z900rs for me ✅✅
Where is the CB1000R?
some retro bikes are getting expensive lately…. if fully restored
Just wish Interceptor had a little more hp on it. 55-58hp would be slightly better. 47hp feels too low. I live in a country with big ass roads.
Of Course I'd have the NORTON "IF" money $$$ was not an item. The Yamaha ' Racer XSR GP would be next Nah I'm Yamaha For LIfe! Yammie first then all of the Enfields!!! The fact that $50, 000 could purchase more than 10 Enfields as opposed to 2 Nortons says it all.
Oooooh it’s gotta be the Yam classic racer just coz it smells of pre-internet cool….
Xsr 700 tribute
Money, no object, Indian FTR1200 Carbon.
It looks uncomfortable to ride but its like kawaskai h2 in terms of how it just looks like a sculpture
I want a retro Segway…..
Where is JAWA?
