It was between this laptop and a MacBook Pro with similar specs for $1000 more. I bought this one instead.
Can the touchpad on this model be used as a number pad as well?
I'm desperately looking for one for high end seamless ai programming and chose Ux6404 as my companion. Is it a good choice for a masters software student? Any other model or laptops like macbook pro or some other you wanna recommend? Also, how's the trackpad of asus UX6404? Is it large enough like the ones on 14" macbook? Also, hows the battery life and is the display bright enough?
Bought this laptop. Been playing with setting and was able to get the battery life to last 5 hours. But I powered it up today and it's back to draining really fast. No idea why.

What is the fan noise under normal load? (Browsing, emails, etc). Im between this laptop and the Zephyrus G14 but im concerned about the fan noise and the G14 seemes to be very loud all the time.
Even with Performance Mode, fan noise is pretty respectable playing around 45db (fans at around 2200rpm upwards). Full Speed is loud and very noticeable with levels around 60-75db (fan speed 6000rpm upwards).
My go-to mode is Performance even for everyday tasks and I personally don't find the device noisy or bothersome. You also have the option to go standard or whisper mode which should be able to handle the tasks you mentioned.
Would like to note however that these are just ballpark figures since we don't have dedicated tools for measuring noise levels and only used an app.

@@TheModernCreaturesAsus locked the CPU TDP to 65w but my unit can barely sustain 50w CPU alone.
This is unacceptable. Especially that notebookcheckreviews unit had 90w PL1 and 120w PL2 and it could actually sustain 90w.
My unit has dried out CPU paste too.

Is it touchscreen? Some reviews of this unit say it's touchscreen, some say it's not.
The official ASUS pages say there is an option for it but the one we reviewed didn't have a touchscreen
