I was a kid in the 70s. The decade with the straight up CREEPIEST TV trailers EVER!!! Something about the 70s aesthetic that has a built in creep factor.
I absolutely loved this film. It was funny and poignant and at times terrifying in a way that only 70’s horror can accomplish. Can’t stop thinking about it!
I just saw the movie and I walked in really not knowing what to think. And I left the theatre with a smile saying “what the f- did I just watch”. I recommend it for sure!
Beyond the comparisons to the Exorcist and Paranormal Activity, I appreciate the homage to Requiem for a Dream and The Joker, where a live TV show, with a live studio audience, is the shocking unscripted setting for a subliminal, psychological, and terrifying nightmare that unfolds before your eyes.
Could this be the horror film we've all been waiting so long for. Don't remember ever seeing a trailer for a film and it making me this excited to see the actual film. Looks incredible. I so hope it doesn't disappoint.
Watched it last night. It’s one of the most original horror movies I’ve seen, especially execution style: putting the audience in the movie theatre as part of the movie itself (like we are also part of the audience in the Late Show), and the depictions of the devil/demon. I really liked the ending, but I feel it might not be for everyone. More seasoned horror movie fans will enjoy it, but I don’t think it will get good rating from the mainstream audience. As to the use of AI, I don’t mind it at all: go for it, experiment with new tools. I think AI will be more common in use in the upcoming years; however, that being said, I could tell the transition cards were AI made. There is a certain look to AI art. It’s hard to explain, but it does not look …human made, and I don’t mean it in a good sense (“good” as relating to other-worldly on purpose). But, over all I think the movie was worth seeing. It has a strong 70-80s movie vibe to it (70s in looks, time period: obviously, and 80s in the sense of how experimental it is and the special effects are definitely a sum of the 80s aesthetic.
Loved it. Love how it sets you up along with that constant nonstop, dreadful feeling. I saw it in a cabin in Wyoming when I was on vacation, and every little bump or wind gust I heard made me jump!
Reminds me of a BBC show called Ghostwatch that came out in 1992. Caused a huge controversy over here.Never been rebroadcast again. It was released on DVD which I have of it. There’s certain similarities for sure, Do yourself a favour and watch it as well.
The movie setting and the build up was great. I wouldn't say it's the scariest of movies but it was extremely entertaining. I might have to rewatch it. 8/10!
I honestly loved this movie. It's like if a lost media creepypasta was good, and i say that as someone whose favourite creepypasta genre is lost media. I enjoyed the 70s aesthetic as well.

It's a Netflix-style trailer (with that annoying metronome effect). There's nothing terrifying about it. The teaser trailer has a narrator (as it did back in the day) and is much less flashy. It actually makes the film more terrifying, mysterious and disturbing.
This movie had huge potential but the ending ruined the whole movie. They could’ve done so much with this movie but i feel like it’s a waste of time watching this movie just because the ending was not so good

Im not usually into horror movies. But if its interesting and done with tact I dig it, cause at that point its just a good movie. This was a good one, told in a unique way and about cool stuff that has some basis in reality with what was actually going on around that time.
I just finished watching it.. honestly it started really good with promising plot!! But it turns badly at the last 30 minutes to a kind of trashy stoned art student's school project.. disappointed 😞
Yes. The news article is extremely hard to find but my grandpa was telling me about this broadcasting. Back in the 70s/80s, a news station did meddle with something similar. A couple people were severely injured but there was one death. The station was shutdown and any reports of it was scrubbed off any major news reports. Idk why but my theory suggests that heaven/hell are real EDIT: I lied

I'm looking forward to it too. For me, the conjuring 1 & 2 are the best 70s based horrors, so far. It has old school style horror with fantastic SFX.
