When first watching it, the stuff he says sounds like schizophrenic nonsense, but when you watch the movie a second time you notice everything he's saying makes perfect sense. Brilliant writing.

I wonder if once upon a time he faced the same choice as ....his accomplice, and he was so very very tired of it. Whatever, this scene made him both creepy but also desperately pitiful. I hear everyone talking about Cage’s acting. Many may not know about his Academy Award winning role in Leaving Las Vegas, which was absolutely heartbreaking. Also Moonstruck, where he plays a romantic lead opposite Cher who won an Oscar for her performance in the movie. BTW, these Oscars were won prior to 2000, long before they lost their meaning.

@@GangstaStan010 He made a load of second rate films in order to pay his debts, and as a result now can afford to pick and choose his roles. This has to be one of his best. The character is absolutely unforgettable and even though he only has limited screentime his presence is felt throughout the entire film, and that is a sign of a great performance. Whether you love or hate this film it deserves Oscar nods for Cage's performance and the stunning cinematography. It also has a storyline that is so ambiguous you could discuss it for months after just one viewing. I recommend watching it more than once as you appreciate the nuances more. I foresee Dale Cobble ending up as one of cinema's most memorable 'bad guys' along with Hannibal Lector.
Because of this movie, whenever I see my wife enter into a room I now say "OH, there she is!" in the same inflections as Longlegs. I cannot stop myself, it's too hilarious.
I have to say, I saw this film in theatres and it was not like anything I expected based on the trailer. I liked it but didn’t love it the way I thought it would. I also thought it ended abruptly and it felt like the last 20 minutes was “rushed”. I just felt like there was SO MUCH more that could have been done with this story.
I made this comment on another video, but this movie surely does deserve some recognition at the awards. Makeup and cinematography surely deserve some. And of course, Cage. He was deeply unsettling in this movie and I had to watch National Treasures 1-2, Weather Man and couple other normal flicks of his to console myself he wasn't really like this :D

Her character reminds me a bit of Holly Hunter's character M.J. Monahan in the serial killer movie, Copycat. Same hair style, same tone of her voice. Esp here in this scene. She reminded me of her all throughout this movie.

I'm going to be 100 percent honest when I say this. I genuinely enjoyed this movie, it is one of my favourite movies of this year by far. And to see some of the reviews of Longlegs being not so positive is quite sad. Because I was legit terrified throughout the entire movie, covering my mouth during almost every scene (Including this scene with Lee and Longlegs). My heart literally almost stopped when Longlegs started bashing his head on the desk, so grim and gnarly. There is so much to love here, the cinematography, Zilgi's outstanding music, the performances from Maika Monroe and especially Nicolas Cage, the use of Lighting, and sound editing. I enjoyed every detail on this movie and I'm really glad that I watched it. Thanks to Longlegs, Oz Perkins is now one of my favourite filmmakers of this generation.
Nicholas Cage's performances are all so unique. A lot of the classical actors have that one singular defining performance that everyone remembers. Nicholas Cage does that defining performance in just about every movie.
Not knocking your opinion. I enjoy a good discussion of films. What made you feel it was all over the place? I found it to be well-contained and showed how much influence Longlegs had on both the FBI in Maika and Blair, but also within the world itself. I didn't expect Maika's character's mom to be an accomplice, but enjoyed that twist.
Was expecting him to be a more terrifying presence in the film bcoz of the way they were hiding his face and look in all the teasers and clips. It was just a good one time watch.
I love how he sits up and braces himself with his feet and the chains as he prepares to cave his own face in. The movie was good, but Cage’s performance stands with the likes of Hannibal Lecter or Anton Chigurh as some of the best depictions of psychopathic killers in film.
I couldn't stop thinking about the fact this conversation between Mr.Cobble and the mother happened after his glamrock performance. Meaning, she really kept talking to him even after that shitshow lol

Nicolas Cage deserves another Oscar for his terrifying performance as LongLegs, this man went hard in his role such a fucking great actor!!! Maika Monroe is indeed thee Scream Queen, she’s incredible actress as the brave FBI agent Lee Harker!!! Fun fact this interrogation scene, Maika was actually traumatized that’s why she’s breathing heavily & panicking yet she’s still performing her role!!! It looks so realistic to what you’re seeing here. This movie is insane but a great movie that I seen in the theaters 👏💯

notice Longlegs and Harker are both wearing only white (shirts anyways). Longlegs is wearing white on white which means it was very intentional as if to signify he knows his work is now done and he is cleansed. Harker is wearing white because she is subconsciously tapped in and probably felt the desire to wear that particular shirt without knowing why. I also notice that most of the film she is wearing bulky dark turtlenecks. However when she is piecing together the murder mystery with all the symbols and ritual dates she is wearing that same white shirt. This shirt is looser and flowey compared to her other clothing and it reveals her chest which could mean this is when she is at her most vulnerable and connected to the demonic.

I hear everyone talking about Cage’s acting. Many may not know about his Academy Award winning role in Leaving Las Vegas, which was absolutely heartbreaking. Also Moonstruck, where he plays a romantic lead opposite Cher who won an Oscar for her performance in the movie. BTW, these Oscars were won prior to 2000, long before they lost their meaning.

It is an R rated, potentially violent movie about a serial killer. What exactly was she expecting, anyway? Either way, the movie was, let's just say a waste, but...lol

@@GangstaStan010 He made a load of second rate films in order to pay his debts, and as a result now can afford to pick and choose his roles. This has to be one of his best. The character is absolutely unforgettable and even though he only has limited screentime his presence is felt throughout the entire film, and that is a sign of a great performance. Whether you love or hate this film it deserves Oscar nods for Cage's performance and the stunning cinematography. It also has a storyline that is so ambiguous you could discuss it for months after just one viewing. I recommend watching it more than once as you appreciate the nuances more.
I foresee Dale Cobble ending up as one of cinema's most memorable 'bad guys' along with Hannibal Lector.

I have to say, I saw this film in theatres and it was not like anything I expected based on the trailer. I liked it but didn’t love it the way I thought it would. I also thought it ended abruptly and it felt like the last 20 minutes was “rushed”. I just felt like there was SO MUCH more that could have been done with this story.
I totally agree. They tried to build tension throughout the whole movie but it felt too slow then too rushed at the end.

I made this comment on another video, but this movie surely does deserve some recognition at the awards. Makeup and cinematography surely deserve some. And of course, Cage. He was deeply unsettling in this movie and I had to watch National Treasures 1-2, Weather Man and couple other normal flicks of his to console myself he wasn't really like this :D

When he drops another “oh” just as Maika’s sitting down it feels so perfect ha I love this character. This & Raising Arizona my favorite Nic Roles, what a legend, I thought he was a bozo 10-20 years back. Shows how much I know. Dude was just working & making money on some dumb movies but I’m sure there’s some other decent ones I’ve missed. Insane how much life really teaches as the years go by.
Her character reminds me a bit of Holly Hunter's character M.J. Monahan in the serial killer movie, Copycat. Same hair style, same tone of her voice. Esp here in this scene. She reminded me of her all throughout this movie.

I like how he says "we had such a big laugh about it" but then he says "though it was only me who laughed, not she" so someone else was laughing with him that wasn't Harker's mother

I'm going to be 100 percent honest when I say this. I genuinely enjoyed this movie, it is one of my favourite movies of this year by far. And to see some of the reviews of Longlegs being not so positive is quite sad. Because I was legit terrified throughout the entire movie, covering my mouth during almost every scene (Including this scene with Lee and Longlegs). My heart literally almost stopped when Longlegs started bashing his head on the desk, so grim and gnarly.
There is so much to love here, the cinematography, Zilgi's outstanding music, the performances from Maika Monroe and especially Nicolas Cage, the use of Lighting, and sound editing. I enjoyed every detail on this movie and I'm really glad that I watched it. Thanks to Longlegs, Oz Perkins is now one of my favourite filmmakers of this generation.

Nicholas Cage's performances are all so unique. A lot of the classical actors have that one singular defining performance that everyone remembers. Nicholas Cage does that defining performance in just about every movie.

I found it to be well-contained and showed how much influence Longlegs had on both the FBI in Maika and Blair, but also within the world itself. I didn't expect Maika's character's mom to be an accomplice, but enjoyed that twist.

Was expecting him to be a more terrifying presence in the film bcoz of the way they were hiding his face and look in all the teasers and clips. It was just a good one time watch.
Seems they were hiding his face because it's such a transformation (Nic Cage being unrecognisable) not because he looks grotesque and scary.
I love how he sits up and braces himself with his feet and the chains as he prepares to cave his own face in. The movie was good, but Cage’s performance stands with the likes of Hannibal Lecter or Anton Chigurh as some of the best depictions of psychopathic killers in film.

Nicolas Cage deserves another Oscar for his terrifying performance as LongLegs, this man went hard in his role such a fucking great actor!!! Maika Monroe is indeed thee Scream Queen, she’s incredible actress as the brave FBI agent Lee Harker!!! Fun fact this interrogation scene, Maika was actually traumatized that’s why she’s breathing heavily & panicking yet she’s still performing her role!!! It looks so realistic to what you’re seeing here. This movie is insane but a great movie that I seen in the theaters 👏💯

Her appearances kinda reminds me asa mitaka on chainsaw man
notice Longlegs and Harker are both wearing only white (shirts anyways). Longlegs is wearing white on white which means it was very intentional as if to signify he knows his work is now done and he is cleansed. Harker is wearing white because she is subconsciously tapped in and probably felt the desire to wear that particular shirt without knowing why. I also notice that most of the film she is wearing bulky dark turtlenecks. However when she is piecing together the murder mystery with all the symbols and ritual dates she is wearing that same white shirt. This shirt is looser and flowey compared to her other clothing and it reveals her chest which could mean this is when she is at her most vulnerable and connected to the demonic.
