When a musician plays their instrument they play with their emotional language"
This group has spoken in many dialects.
There will never be another ,
    They have been good medicine;
    I have been healed....

"...So, here I was, a little white boy from the suburbs. Now, I was livin' with a militant black, a Nicaraguan, a Puerto Rican...and a Mexican." -- michael shrieve

David Brown looks so frail. I wish he would've made a recovery from his addiction, but it was not to be. I know he came back into the band in 1974 and stayed on for a few years, only to succumb once again. Heartbreaking.

He was so so sooo great, that’s why some like myself call him the Late “Great David Brown” there’s not a lot on him I tried doing more research on him before but only some some photos from their Japanese tour and some other tours. But for me he was most memorable for his bass playing in the early days

Shame David Brown never spoke. Also I think this is his only appearance after the 70s, can't find any other old picture or footage of him

Only saw a few of him in the late 70s and that’s pretty much it he was a truly underrated bassist like fuck man

A Bill Graham experience. Back in the early 80s, Bill had a club called the called the Old Waldorf.
I went to see Chick Corea and Paco DeLucia concert and the place was packed. I saw a table with a couple of chairs and we went to sit down. We were told they Bill Graham's chairs.
I said, I know what Bill looks like and as soon as we see him coming the table we will leave before he gets to the table, there will be problem.
20 minutes or so later, I see Bill coming toward the table and we got to leave and Bill said, stay seated, I like to walk around the club.
    That was so cool.
Bill was a big Jazz fan and I was so lucky to see one of the few performances with Chick playing with Paco, DeLucia.
In case you never heard of Chick or Paco

Is there anyone in the comments who can tell me what that was that Carlos said in the beginning of his speech? It sounds like Portuguese and I’ve heard him use it twice- once here and in the song “yo soy la luz” off the Corazon album.

Another commenter said there was a disagreement, no specifics. Maybe some legal issue.

I saw a Chepito interview where he described a nasty falling out with Carlos. They had an argument and he ended up throwing a towel in Carlos's face and walked out on the band.

Chepito went to jail for a very horrible sex crime. He is out of jail now, but he is a registered sex offender. Santana wants nothing to do with him anymore.

He was arrested for molesting two kids in 1996 and Carlos banned him permanently from the band.

Caravello has that beautiful classic Jag with double tanks and a great drummer and Shrieve is a way cool drummer, as well. Gregg Rolie an absolute genius writer, arranger listen to his Work in Journey. Carlos, Dahling, put these guys on either side of Cindi cause Cindi is fabulous and Carlos call Neal and put Santana back together with your beautiful soul, please...Ya feel me?

These were the youngest group of talented musicians ever to be assembled. Not mentioned Neal Schon.
