Ah, the Heima (At Home) documentary. One of the best made. It was a tour they did of their home country, Iceland. Great movie all around, well worth the watch.

When listening to genres like post rock, you should be open minded and never listen to it like you listen to pop music for example. While regular pop songs is listened to for the purpose of temporary enjoyment or “bumping your head”, Post Rock is more of an experience. Great reaction.

This song is from their album Ágætis Byrjun in 1999. This concert is from a live dvd where they traveled around Iceland and put on a series of free shows. While some songs are in a made up gibberish language, this particular one is in Icelandic I believe. I never look up the lyrics translations of their music and I think it works thinking of the vocals as an instrument.

I’ve checked out your Phish reactions; Sigur Ros is a group I’ve heard a few times but haven’t dived that far. Excited to hear the song and your reaction

Nathan - when you like a land without trees, than Iceland is THE land for you. ;o)
Also, when you spoke you're Canadian, it's remind me of a Canadian I met 2018 in Akureyrí in Iceland: He said, that he was not so impressed of Iceland, because all the things, many people visits Iceland for - waterfalls, fjords, mountains, geysirs - all that stuff he could have in Canada. :-D

I think I would really enjoy Iceland, to be honest. I love all of those things in Canada, and I'd love to see them in a place other than Canada :) ~ Nathan

Very nice video and cool reaction. You should deffo check out more of Sigur Rós and react to it😊 This clip of this song comes from their documentary called Heima, check that out also.
In this song(and many others) the singer sings in a made up gibberish language. He uses his voice as an instrument and so people can interpret the songs in their own way.

They’ve been used in a few movies. Vanilla Sky, 127 hours, even Game of Thrones. The episode where Joffrey dies.

The song is being sung in hoplendic or Icelandic is what most relate to as gibberish although like many others with their own dialect and wording from coast to coast and north to south of every nation we ouod derive as gibberish. Especially in Germany, england or Scotland, north or southern ireland there are words, frases and dialect not used in other areas of the nations. In america from new york to alabama vocabulary can be drastically different.
Hopelandic is equally as colourful and a language of its own origins and history. Definitely not rhe same as denmark, holland or even the Faroe islands

They called it "hopelandic", there are many versions and each one will break your heart in a slightly different way. Well, most of their song are that way.

Well they do mix in some actual Icelandic and English in some of their songs I believe. But yeah mostly “Hopelandic”. Great band.

Worst Sigur Ros reaction on TH-cam. If you a Sigur Ros fan skip. Not worth your time. You will find much better reactions elsewhere. Very disappointing.

@@WelpHereWeAreOnTH-cam If you are posting a reaction and especially being paid for it. Seem enthused and try to act like your paying attention. Its your one job here and you didn't even pull it off for the few minutes you were involved in the video. If this is an example of the rest I would turn to just posting about what you want to do. At least the top guy watched the video. Blurry guy was on his phone the whole time. 1 of 10 no energy. Fail.
