That is why it is mentioned in Buddhism that there are Antar-Kalpas. In Hindu religion they are known as Yugas. We know that in this Antar-kalpa there will be two Lord Buddhas . One our Lord Gautama Buddha and the other Lord Maitree Buddha who is yet to come. Before Lord Gautama Buddha and after Lord Kashyapa Buddha there was one Antar-kalpa vinasha (this is different from the Kalpa vinasha where everthing upto Brahma Loka is destroyed). So there was one Antra kalpa vinasha between Lord Kakusandha Buddha and Lord Konagamana Buddha. Between Lord Konagamana Buddha and Lord Kasyapa Buddha there was another one and the next between Lord Kasyapa Buddha and Lord Gautama Buddha As per the Sutra (is it Sapta suryodgamana , I'm not sure, need to check) , the vinasa happens after a great flood, second after a extensive fire and a flood and third after a extensive war, a fire and a flood. Similarly in Hinduism there is a vinasha (Antarpale) between the yugas. I will not mention all the details here, but as the Hindus believe (and it is also mentioned in text of Aryabatta,) Maha Bharata war has taken place 5000yrs before the present era. It was an extensive war, many nations even Turks, Greeks and Chinese have come to India to participate and there was a huge population decline. There is evidence that high technological weapons were used in the war. Within few years of the war there was a hugh tsunami and many parts of the world including Dwaraka in India went under the sea. So the last Atarkalpa vinasha with a war, the fire (due to use of high technology weapons in the war) and a flood (tsunami/ sea level going up) could be the Mahabharta war which took place 5000yrs back. So before this 5000 yrs there had been a developed technology and the civilizations before that have used high technology. after the floods those civilizations have been destroyed but the survivors did not have the knowledge of their ancestors. This could be why Egypt have this old technology
