Nice video Jerry. I think BYD definitely geared the Seal more towards comfort than handling, which I really appreciate. What I want from my EV is comfort (and quietness), efficiency and usable range. Also, in the current EV landscape I think it would be a risk to fork out for a new luxury EV, as battery tech is moving along so fast, I suspect the current day luxury EVs will depreciate like a rock. Hence I actually went with the Seal Dynamic, which is the base model with a smaller battery, RWD only and 18" wheels, which will aid range as well.
I think the power display would be better in a dial format. Just numbers is irritating and inelegant. while they are at it, make the speedo a dial too (or dial and plain numbers). Dials give a feel for the progression
Good question. Honestly, it’s hard to decide as I’m not in the shoes of buying one right now. For good look, good passenger space and comfortable cruise, I will pick the Seal. For a slightly better driving experience, a high-tech screen, a better regenerative brake, Tesla is the winner.
an xpower is not good at all, it feels like its made out of plastic. the only good part about it is the seats. but when you drive the xpower at full force from 0-100 it feels soo unstable
Please don't worry I have a BYD Seal premium and I confirm that It can be closed by pushing the vent handles to the leftmost side of the rear vents. You can confirm this by pointing a flashlight at the rear vents while moving the vent handles 😁👍
BYD Seal is the world's best supercar EV
If it had good drivers assistance, good thermal management and no compatibility issues with chargers, it would be just behind the M3 Performance
Thanks Jerry.
Sounds like a winner from BYD.
Thanks for the comment. I definitely love it!
Looks like a lot of car for the money!
Love the interior style design choice over the Atto3, good move BYD!
Yes, this interior is way less complicated.

Thanks for the comment. Very good choice. The base model has got enough features for me.
Impressive performance under the rain !!! And I don't see nothing cheap about this chinese car !! Bravo
Yep, great car overall
Perhaps the pause in acceleration that you sometimes experienced was related to traction control, given the wet roads
Maybe. I tried a couple more after this video shoot. It was fine.
Seems like he activated Itac which will ensure safety first
Awesome video
Thank you so much for the support!
Nice video, Thanks Jerry, Love to get mine black Seal here i Norway next month.
Thanks for your support! Congrats
3.8s is very impressive
Indeed. You may not need that power everyday but it is fun!
really nice car, interior and tail light so cool👍👍
Thanks for the comment.
This is unbelievable.. in the wet!
I tossed up between premium and performance
I think the extra range is worth it
5.9 seconds is still pretty good acceleration
Yes, for me, the premium is good enough!

Agree. No big issue about the dial but it could be a bit better.
"even in sport mode the suspension is relatively soft"
the driving modes alter the suspension?
There's a 'smart chassis' setting in the touchscreen somewhere. The AWD version has adaptive dampers.
For my experience, it doesn't alter the suspension by a noticeable amount
Which do you prefer this or M3H Dual motor?

Question purchase Dash Cam Yah or Nah?
It has a recording function built-in with the front camera.
sick
It needs black rims and nice rear spoiler
So quiet, can only hear the tire's sound .....
Would love to see this in a race against an XPower
That would be cool. I don't think I have a chance to film something like that though :(

CSL Auto time have done this race it's a Thailand Channel on youtube.
no one has ever mentioned that the rear vents cannot be closed or even adjusted for flow. my kids wont like that. hmm

Thanks for sharing the information on this :D
Ventilation is not a problem I like this car very much
Boo hoo😢
Tesla's headache
Just too bad the infotainment system UI looks like a bloated smartphone.
This can always improve with UI updates
This car shouldn't be name performance,..low max speed , heavy car and soft suspension when cornering. Is a good daily car but not a performance car..
Called the Excellence in the UK not performance and I’d call more a grand tourer than a performance car and I’m very happy about mine
Yep, super comfy to drive as a daily sleeper vehicle. I'm guessing the performance name is related to the acceleration.
Great to know!
What is a performance car in your mind?
Can beat a Lamboghini 0-100, in 3.8 secs. We can't call it a performance, lets call it a "Very fast" Chinese muscle car. Hahaha....
