  • Just a few clips I've managed to catch on the dashcam while driving around.
Due to language I advise not to watch if you have kids around.
And please take care and drive safely around trucks and other vehicles.

Totally with you on people speeding up in the overtaking lanes - Also up there with people who insist on merging right 200m before the overtaking lane ends

I think a big problem with people slowing down for the cop cars on the side of the road is that they don't want to be fined for going over 40, or whatever that new rule is, despite the fact that slamming on the brakes isn't exactly the best maneuver safety wise. I'm not sure if the rule is 40 for all speed limits. I hope not.

    • @shanehastattoos

Insurance and traffic tickets must be completely different there than in Canada. You're overtaking in a big vehicle, doing the speed limit. Ie speeding fines must be astronomical.
But on Aussie Dash cam videos people seem to be almost obligated to create the largest pileup they can. Ie: Car insurance must be cheap!

5:55 in Vic is law to slow to 40 past red and blues. I was climbing off the back of a firetruck and got hit by the mirror of a car doing about 80 who somehow didn't notice the truck until they hit the cones blocking the lane. They had gone around the police car about 100m behind us and hadn't slowed down. Thankfully they got caught and I only had minor bruising thanks to the ppc. But some of the drivers in this video, damn, I feel sorry for the truck drivers who have to deal with it!

5:54 There is a law in NSW for which you need to slow down to 40 km/h when passing a stationary emergency vehicle with flashing lights (police, ambulance, fire, SES, traffic control, breakdown assistance vehicles). It applies when speed limit is 80 km/h or lower. If over that, then slow down to reasonable speed. It applies to vehicles travelling in both directions. I missed the light, any normal driver shouldn't park when stopped at lights across driveways so the other driver could of waited to turn until we had stopped and he had room instead of pushing out.

It seems to me, you need to get another kind of job, because you obviously cannot cope with the traffic and varying range of drivers out there. No one is perfect, everyone has their moments, and I'm sure you've had yours, so relax, pay attention, but don't try to force situations, because they'll never go as you think they will, because, everyone is different.

Shane-you need a good set of air horns on any truck you are driving so you can blast the shit out of these moron drivers. I have a set on my car and they are loud as fk. 130 db measured reading @ 2 meters from my grille lol. They are at the maximum legal limit in Australia and if you use them for these types of situations the cops can’t do jack about it. Best $120.00 bucks I’ve ever spent.
