I drive a 10 palleter. Doing a delivery to St Vincent's Hospital in Darlinghurst and there's a narrow street with parked cars either side to go down. 3 or 4 of then decided against being prudent and folding their mirrors in. Only just had room to get through and a longer truck might've had real trouble with tailswing. I took a punt as I passed a couple sitting at a cafe on the corner "are you one of the idiots who didn't fold their mirror in?" Looks like they were because they jumped up and went back towards their car.
I'm convinced that a lot of people have forgotten how to drive during the lockdowns. Then there are the ones who never knew how to drive in the first place.
At least the roads in Australia have good markings on them. Here in NY, everything is just dirt and weeds and the markings are all worn-off or non-existent!

By the way, sat navs aren't that good, I was going into bourke and it had me in the middle of the paddock doing 350kph in a 350HP UD fully loaded (43t) of concrete blocks and a forklift used for testing weigh bridges? 🤔
Does it cause drama if a car slows down by about 5kph in the left lane on getting to an overtaking lane? Mostly when wet/windy/crap road surface when 100 can be a bit quick.

Goes both ways. Cars don’t consider dynamics of heavy vehicles but truck drivers tailgate as well and don’t allow room for error. I hate following close behind other trucks due to vision of road ahead being restricted vision. I hate following cars close as they don’t keep a consistent speed and could stop quicker than me at any moment and a rear end collision would be then my fault. heavy braking in trucks is hard on driver, truck and freight
The bastard driving and letting off a myriad of swearing throughout the footage definitely has issues with anger & hostility towards other drivers. The way he goes on a tiraid of swearing signafies he needs pychiciatric help.

What about the poor bastard coming the other way? 0:25 the orange Corolla was obviously In a line of traffic following a slower vehicle so why tailgate them when they can’t go faster and it was always likely that the Car in question would put thier foot down when the 2 in front sped up or to overtake them. 1:00 you had nothing besides you from what I can gather so why not move over, do this when ever you can and you don’t have issues with slower vehicles trying to merge. If you can’t move over does it fucking hurt to slow down to allow someone to merge easier.

I do know what I’m talking about and I went though an angry stage at the beginning of my truck driving career which done nothing to help whatsoever. I’m not saying what the red commodore was right and it was stupid and it had the potential to cause a serious accident where someone doing nothing wrong is the one to be killed. In that situation you have to put your ego aside and be the better driver by doing what you can to improve the situation. By moving to the left and giving more space could mean the difference between a near miss and a fatality. The orange Corolla leading up to the overtaking lane was 3rd in line behind a slow caravan. From what I can see is they have increased speed with the other vehicle and were always likey to speed up with the others. My criticism of the Corolla driver is yes they cut you off once they decided to put thier foot down it didn’t cost you any time. And on the last clip you knew the white car was likely to be a little slower or hesitant so why not move over if you can. You obviously get triggered by slowing down, When you move over you can maintain what speed you were doing and it has the safety benefit if eliminating interaction with slower merging which reduces stress.
The law and licensing system does not put enough emphasis on defensive driving and that’s what I am trying to explain. I drive either semi or mini bs so I drive trucks and I know what I am doing and I know how to read other drivers behaviour reasonably well. I see alot of dangerous behaviour from cars and I will say truck drivers are guilty as well. I’ve thought about doing videos on defensive driving, what not to do around trucks and also where truck drivers are wrong

I do know what I’m talking about and I went though an angry stage at the beginning of my truck driving career which done nothing to help whatsoever.
I’m not saying what the red commodore was right and it was stupid and it had the potential to cause a serious accident where someone doing nothing wrong is the one to be killed. In that situation you have to put your ego aside and be the better driver by doing what you can to improve the situation. By moving to the left and giving more space could mean the difference between a near miss and a fatality.
The orange Corolla leading up to the overtaking lane was 3rd in line behind a slow caravan. From what I can see is they have increased speed with the other vehicle and were always likey to speed up with the others. My criticism of the Corolla driver is yes they cut you off once they decided to put thier foot down it didn’t cost you any time.
And on the last clip you knew the white car was likely to be a little slower or hesitant so why not move over if you can. You obviously get triggered by slowing down, When you move over you can maintain what speed you were doing and it has the safety benefit if eliminating interaction with slower merging which reduces stress.
The law and licensing system does not put enough emphasis on defensive driving and that’s what I am trying to explain. I drive either semi or mini bs so I drive trucks and I know what I am doing and I know how to read other drivers behaviour reasonably well. I see alot of dangerous behaviour from cars and I will say truck drivers are guilty as well.
