Yep. Some how this 6 year old video has the best map/animation about the eclipse that I’ve seen lmao

That’s how recommendations work
Yea, I’m getting ready to drive to Little Rock tomorrow from Florida to see it. So excited!
This has got to be some sort of record for "longest anticipated countdown" 😅 It's kind of eerie, just knowing time just keeps ticking. Jesus forgive us all

Ya'll were waiting 6 years!
I won the viewing lottery for the 2024 eclipse!!! The ideal viewing place is in my parent's backyard in Lampasas tx!! Eeeeeeeeee!! Can't wait.
I'm already getting excited even though we have 2 years, 1 month, and 1 day left of waiting. I will be a Junior in college in Upstate NY just a few minutes away from the path! Unfortunately, April is one of the cloudiest months here, so I may be traveling somewhere else.
@@Meanderonthemoon Texas is the best state to see it, based on cloud statistics.
i live in pittsburgh, seems i gotta drive up to erie to see it
Almost there 🎉
I'll be in school in Florida... Guess I'll have to wait till 2045...
I'm about to watch the eclipse in Montreal and didn't realized this video is 6yo lmao
very happy to be in Indianapolis.. I saw the annular back in 1995 in its entirety.. been grateful to see several partials, and of course the big one back in 2017 was amazing from my back yard... lucky Hoosiers🏁
me too :)
Science is good. This was layed out decades in advance. There was zero deviation from the predicted course, and duration. Well done. 🌞
Science is very real and scientists know what they’re doing, #CancelDeniers
RIP to all the people who were looking forward to it but never saw it today.
This is My first time looking at an eclipse, no regrets
I got recommended this at the day of the solar eclipse
I’m still astounded, that they could predict the “exactly day”& spots, of the eclipse 6 years in advance.,but only can give an approx “30%” chance of it will rain tomorrow, from my meteorologist.
Astophysics and mathematics are much more precise than chaotic meterology.
@@Nils-gi5bv yeah, I knew that was going to be the answer, to half of my question. But it just seems so strange (i.e. does not make sense) 🤔
During the 1979 eclipse, they knew the exact day, of next eclipse was coming, for 2017. But still in 2024, they can’t tell you, within 30% chance of it, of It’s gonna rain tomorrow.
It’s kind of like, the old superman TV show from the 60s. They shoot superman, with all these bullets, & he stands straight & confident. (& the bullets bounce off him) Then they throw the empty got at him, & then he has to duck. (it just makes no sense) 🤔
@@MikeCee7 Unlike the weather, the movement of the sun, planets and moons is not chaotic. Hence the not surprising accuracy.
@@MikeCee7 Makes plenty of sense. Celestial bodies are the clockwork of the universe, affected by nothing other than other celestial bodies, hence easy to predict. Weather on the other hand is affected by an innumerable amount of different variables, hence impossible to predict (100% anyway).
@@SoDamnMetal when I said “it doesn’t make sense”, I’m not being literally, I am being figuratively. Like when I made the analogy with superman & the bullets, then ducking when thrown a gun at him. (I don’t know if you read that humorous analogy, I tempted to make or not?)
-
I’m not a meteorologist, nor an astrologist (just a simple lay person when it comes to the weather & the sky)
Here’s another thing that I “ponder” about. The meteorologist on TV, can tell me what the forecast is gonna be for the next 8 days. They can tell me, in 8 days from now what temperature is gonna be. (that’s very impressive predicting the “variable” weather that far in advance.)
But they can’t tell me if it’s gonna rain tomorrow.
Does that paint a clearer picture, when I say “it doesn’t make sense”?
If as you say, “the weather is affected by innumerable amount of variables”
Then how can tell they tell you the temperature 8 days from now, but they can’t tell you (more than 30%) if it’s gonna rain tomorrow?
13 days to go!!!! Viewing from London, Ontario, Canada!! I just saw the map (actually for the first time today) and realize that us Canadians (in Southern Ontario, especially!! ) will get a front row seat 😮 WOW!!! VERY COOL 😎☺️
London is at 99.7%. You should REALLY try to get to Lake Erie to see 100%, if you have the means to. A 99% partial solar eclipse is still 10,000 times brighter than a 100% total solar eclipse! In London, you will have to wear your solar glasses the entire time if you want to look at the sun. You will also not be able to see the magnificent corona or 360˚ sunset. In many videos of total solar eclipses, you can see that it is not until the very last bit of the sun gets eclipsed until the lighting dramatically changes. Good luck with viewing!!
I'm watching it on my TV since I live in California, but here it is, happening. I'm living in a moment you posted 6 years ago
Im hella excited. This is gonna be the first one i can properly photograph
im also excited for 2024 eclipse
So, how did it go? Did you take pictures?
This recommended on the right day!
Holy crap that was accurate.. ill never question astronomic predictions ever again
It's amazing how precise the predictions are! The only margin of error is right at the edges of the path, and even then, we're talking in terms of a few hundred feet.
I Love Astronomy! Thanks for the video!

I've yet to see a flat earther predict any eclipses using their model. Isn't it funny how it happened the same way they said it would?

Very good but you can double or triple the length of the animation by repeating the same sequence over and over
Wow, I was exactly wondering, during the eclipse in Montreal, what was the eclipse stage in different places on the path. I am kind of surprised there was only a 20 minutes difference between Montreal, Quebec ad St John's, Newfoundland. Both cities are not that close from each other. Super great animation, BRAVO!!!! And thank you for that 🙂
Can’t wait!!!

The Eclipse Animator Will Harrison, OH or Saint Leon, IN, be in the path of totality?
Nick Schallick
Harrison will get 1 minute 35 seconds of totality and St. Leon will have 2 minutes 30 seconds. You may want to head northwest for a longer time in totality. xjubier.free.fr/en/site_pages/solar_eclipses/TSE_2024_GoogleMapFull.html?Lat=39.53994&Lng=-84.61967&Zoom=10&LC=1
The Eclipse Animator Thank you for the help
The Eclipse Animator can you also show what time it will be when certain percentages of the sun are covered by the moon in your upcoming saint Leon eclipse video?
Hello from the future.
The fact that multiple teachers and students in my school district have been needing to fight for the day off is just despicable! A lot of people in my area want to travel to better areas to view the eclipse and image stuff, and many people just don’t want to deal with all the chaos and just stay home to be able to get the full experience in their back yard, but our district isn’t allowing them too! If anything my school district seems to be doing nothing but making the situation worse! They don’t even want to at least have it be a half day or even letting out like 15 minuets early, heck! I would even be willing to stay at school for a bit longer just to fully experience it! But of course I will be on the bus while it’s happening, and for some reason the bus can’t stop at some playground or park for a few minuets in the middle of the rout so we can fully experience it either! Yeah sure I would experience it getting darker, but I want to experience the full thing! I want to experience the temperature drop! I want to experience hearing all the night time insects coming out in those few minuets! I want to actually just calmly look at it without having to readjust were I’m looking every two seconds because of me being in a moving vehicle! And my school won’t even let us stay for a bit longer and have everybody out of the building at once because I quote “it would be to chaotic to let everyone out at once”. And to rub salt in the wound they have been giving out small couple day learning experiences to prepare us for it! Like there not setting us all up to not even be able to fully view it! And if your going to ask me “Why don’t you just stay home that day even if school goes on?” Well guess what! My mom isn’t allowing me to stay home that day either! If you can’t tell, I’m absolutely fuming about this 😡!
Thank you to everyone who actually read all of this! I wish you all a happy viewing! And hopefully most of you won’t half to deal with such a ruckus with even being allowed to fully view it like I am🤞!
IKR! My university will see 99.2% and I am trying to push them to cancel classes so people can travel an hour away to totality.
Just don't go

Thank you for this. 6 years-ago prediction animation is better than any of the recent ones I've seen. I'm in central Maine and the forecast is going to be crystal clear and temps in the mid 60's. The nicest day we've had this year. It's 7:20am and the totality is around 3:30pm here. I'll be set up in the back yard around 2:00, with my new Kodak camera and eclipse glasses.
Welp, all that just happend. Pretty dang accurate. Sadly I was barely outside totality zone. Springfield Missouri got 97%. still pretty cool tho

I can wait to go the Buffalo NY to see 100% Solar Eclipse last time I want to see it it was 75% in New York
Yes, I was in New Jersey and it was only 75%. It may be cloudy in the Northeast (as it often is in April) for this eclipse so traveling may be necessary in order to see this one. The next total in the continental US after this isn’t until 2044!
We’re going to near buffalo too except we’re going to be on the opposite side of the Canadian border
@@Meanderonthemoon oh my gosh that’s one of my biggest concerns about this, we’re going to Niagara Falls to see it and I’ve been worried about it being cloudy, though it’s not as cloudy as you might think and clear days are still plentiful
@@theauggieboygamer9148 Yeah there have been some sunny days here in upstate NY recently! Being near Lake Ontario should help too. This is very counterintuitive, but the data show that in the spring the lake has a moderating effect on the cloudiness.
I'm glad you liked it.

Hey the eclipse animator, will Oklahoma, Idabel get a full eclipse on the 2024 eclipse?
Yes it will. The total eclipse begins at 18:45 UT, and will last 4 minutes and 18 seconds. This is longer than anywhere in the 2017 eclipse.

It's amazing how accurately the predictions are for eclipses, hundreds of years in advance!
The most important question that must be asked is what do eclipses truly mean? A total solar eclipse indicates massive change, (new beginnings) for all 7 billion souls on the planet!
Bro, it's just the moon passing around, there's no meanings o massive changes, it's a natural phenomenon
