Was a very solid review, and better than most obviously sponsored reviewers, who put their sponsorships above honestly, vs him being completely forward, right from the gate about the tb being sent, and still mentioning the quirks. Maybe if some of these heavily sponsored ppl would be honest like this, headset companies would actually look to improve weaknesses, because weaknesses being honestly pointed out by huge reviewers would force them to, to avoid negative sales effects. That said, it's hard to get huge when there's such an influx of streamers..... it sometimes hurts people more deserving from getting their names out there.... best you can do is word of mouth and online friends shout out, if you hear anyone looking for a headset.

I wanted to thank you, if belatedly, for this amazing comparison review!
I'm a partially blind gamer in the market for a pair with dual audio mix capabilities like these, which I didn't even know was a thing until I stumbled upon the Turtle Beach pair. I use my phone a LOT, even when gaming, and since a lot of my phone use is with my screen reader, or watching videos and such during gaming, it's a pain to take off my current headset just to hear it properly.
I really appreciated your display of what the headphones pretty much sound like. That was really neat and useful. I'm not a blind/partially blind stereotype with a perfect ear, or even a particularly well-tuned one, but I noticed and appreciated many of the differences nonetheless. I listened on two different sets of headphones, and will probably do so through my basic Xbox headset before I make my final decision.
It seemed to me that the Astros were just kind of flat and dull. Some stuff sounded good, but like ... the zipper was a sound effect of a zipper, the explosions and gunshots were just sound-effects.
I'm a bit torn between the Novas and the Stealths here. I see generally better consumer reviews on the Novas, but also really like the stealth's no-fuss setup that just works on my Xbox, PS5, and PC. The one downside is if it will work with Switch, because my Switch's bluetooth sucks and I understand the Stealth has no AUX cord. I was also more impressed than I expected to be at the sound, the fullness of it like you said, where things sounded more real than like sound-effects. The Nova for me was almost there, but not quite the same.
Then again, I like the novas because the transmitter IS USB C, so ease of access with my Switch even on the go, and as I recall it does have an aux cord, though I don't see myself using that much if at all.
I also want to get the one more likely to hold up over time and have the least amount of connection issues.

I send back steelseries nova 1 cause like you said(I should listen you), was not good for music as my hyperX cloudX is. IMO nothing touch hyperX (comfort + balance sound, mic sucks and the clip volume control sucks also. but i don't use it anyway). @@GadgetryTech I bought all 3 and you are bang on with the description of all of them sound wise. However the a30’s I think Astro have not done themselves justice here, the footsteps eq has to much high end and not enough low end and the immersive sounds great but you lose some of the directional awareness as the bass is quite elevated. But if you go into the eq and set to flat or +1 64hz and +1 1k they pull ahead of the TB and nova in my opinion, you can tell the drivers are better quality, and you get the directional Audio back to the level of the others. Can you measure the frequency response with these set to flat via the eq?

I just bought a pair of the Nova 7 yesterday. Still figuring out the EQ setup, but I do like them. Only thing I doubt like is the separate EQs in the GG app. I'm not sure if I should tune them both or just one of them. Love the simultaneous BT. Was playing a game and heard the laundry buzzer go off so I put on some music from my phone while I folded my clothes. It was one of those things I didn't know I needed until I had it. Also, I like that I could actually wear them in public without screaming gamer.

Mate, your reviews, comparisons and deep dives are amazing and deserve more recognition! I've been deciding between these and some others like the Logitech G PRO X 2 (which don't seem worth it for the extra money), for someone else. I thought I was set on the Nova 7's but the sound, clarity and cues on the TB Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX sounds great! (Listening to the binaural recordings on my HD598 - with an EQ to flatten them out as well to get a more balanced perception of each headset). Astro A30s sounded quite muddied and muffled? Nova 7 sounded quite dull and flat. One question - How was the sound profile set up for each headset during the recordings? I'm guessing just out of the box and not EQ'd to your taste? Thanks. If so, I'm guessing EQ'ing the A30 or Nova 7 would get them sounding a bit better?

I think I'm gonna buy those since I don't really have a good wireless option for play on consoles. I'll prob still stick with the VZR Model One's for Warzone on the PC but it'll be fun to try the TB's once in a while for a different sound. I will say though that I love me a good flip to mute. I hate inline controls; they never feel good.

Idk if anyone said this already, but he says something about the stealth 700 reducing game volume when you connect to Bluetooth. I have one of these headsets and it does do that, but I found that you can just turn up the headset volume to compensate if you like. The reduction isn't crazy anyways (actually kinda helpful) and since the volume knob on the headset only works for whatever wireless connection you have but the Bluetooth volume is controled by the source, you can adjust your game volume and Bluetooth volume independently

Just the comparison I had suggested but with the binaural sounds which are a welcome addition. Funny as I have or had all 3 headset’s here. Actually returned my A30 recently and bought the Stealth 700 Gen 2 max again. Still have the Nova 7x but the Stealth 700 just have that added oomph to them. All while still being able to pinpoint footsteps and other details in shooters. I previously complained about their clamp force but my new pair honestly don’t seem as bad as I remember. Either way great comparison video and I hope you keep the binaural recording I’m going forward.

I'm glad to see someone who's used all three. Just from the recording and what I've heard the Astros just seem overpriced and underwhelming.
I've been torn between the Novas and Stealths but the recordings helped a lot. I also thought the TB headphones just had that bit of extra oomph to them while remaining nice and clear.
I'm curious, as your comment's a year old, how have the Novas and Stealths held up in comparison to one another? I'm getting conflicting info about the TB build quality in particular. Also, which has the least amount of connection issues for you?

  • @tfdsu
    @tfdsu 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

I really appreciate the length you went while making this video, I couldn't find binaural comparison anywhere but here!
Truth to be told, I'm confused now: I came here for Nova 7 assurances, but after binaural part I'm not sure I like the sound anymore - when A30 part ends and Nova 7 starts I get a feeling sound has been cut off, dampened and sound scene squeezed into these tiny earpads, like I suddenly got half-deaf. But when TB 700 G2 MAX part begins, sound stage opens extremely wide, positioning now is crystal clear and sound so juicy I feel it's taste in my mouth. Naturally I went for info and opinions, and they are quite poor due to TB's technical issues (connectivity, rigidity, adjustability, etc). Would you kindly comment on that? It's been a month I'm looking for wireless headset, I bought HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless and already returned it because of it's poor boomy sound and now I'm in vain :(
P.S. Worth noting that I don't play competitive games at all, I need headset for everything but, and as for the sound profile and frequency respond I'm in fond of my current AKG K371 sounding.

It's more of a byproduct of longer play time and different games lead to some new tuning. I would try both out, and even experiment with some of your own settings to see what you like. I started enjoying the new tune more purely for games because it was more fun to play with and more immersive. The older tune was a little more "accurate" but that doesn't mean much if it's less fun to play with

After watching your TB Stealth 700 V2 Max video, I'm now torn between those or the Steelseries Nova 7X. I was pretty set on the Novas until I found your video on the Stealth 700 V2 max, but now idk. Hi Kyle. Thanks so much! BadSeed is an awesome guy so I’m really greatful for the shoutout.
To answer your question, I’m starting to like the 7X more only because of the comfort! Both work extremely well and I’d be happy with either. If you like a strong, immersive bass, stick with the 700 Gen 2 max. If you don’t care for that and just want good fps performance for competitive gaming, or don’t want too much bass, the 7X is great. Hope that helps. Sorry for the delay!

I currently use the older Steelseries Arctis 7P for my PS5 and love it, but the headband system is just a little too small for my head and gets uncomfortable after a while. I was looking at the Novas because they have the extra adjustment and would be able to fit my big head, lol.
Coincidentally, I also have Turtle Beach Stealth 600s (Gen 1) for my Xbox One, which I had to get some Wicked Cushions ear pads for because the stock pads suck, lol (Wicked Cushions are amazing, just as a side note). I only really use my Xbox for Forza, so sound doesn't really matter as long as it's good, lol.

So i ended up returning them back.

I don’t find the nova pro wireless very comfy, not sure why, I don’t think it’s the node inside, maybe cups too small or the leather design, are the nova 7x any better ? I have tried the h6pro and think they are good but not sure they are as good for footsteps as the nova pro wireless. Perhaps I need to try the TB700 g2 max ? Please help.

Hey, I purchased the Turtle beach stealth 700 max headphones 2 days ago. Have them connected to PC and bluetooth connected to my cellphone. After day 2 my Discord from PC goes extremely quiet. Game volume is normal but discord on PC goes extremely quiet. Is there a Fix for this?

I personally wasn't happy with the build of either the novas or stealths when testing so I went with the Astros. They seem to be working pretty nice other than some mic volume issues that my boyfriend reports.

Glad to hear you found something you like! I think I’ll revisit them again soon now that some more updates have come out for them since launch.

The ear-cups of the Turtle Beach look a very weird sharp. Any reports of them being uncomfortable against ears?

Between the Sony Pulse 3D, the Steelseries Nova 7 and the Turtle Beach 700 Gen 2 max my favorite one is... The Turtle Beach... Great sound, good mic and pretty comfortable. The sound can easily be adjusted with the app on your Smartphone. The Sony Pulse 3D is still a good headset for the money but you can hear the difference when you try a more premium headset. As for the Nova 7, the sound is really very clear but I really don't like how the bass sound...it also hurts my ears... So for those hesitating between the 2, it really depends on the kind of bass you like... If you prefer more punchy, home cinema style (and I would say more natural) bass, then go for the Turtle beach. If you're not into bass and prefer a very clear sound, go for the Steelseries...

I ended up buying the Astro A50 and I'm 50/50 on return it for the TB 700 Max. I did get it for $215, not $300+.

I’ve always had cheap mics but I’m looking for the stealth 700 or the steel series. Besides battery life. Which mic is better in your opinion? Which of the two have you used more for long gaming sessions?

I have had the 700 gen 2 my friends would complain of my voice sounding like a high pitched robot at least once every 3 gaming sessions or so.

I'm trying to decide between the SteelSeries Nova 7x, Razer kira pros, and turtle beach gen 2 max. After watching this review I'm leaning towards the turtle beaches but, I will be mainly using the headset for casual gaming and movies and shows. As far as inconsistencies go which has the least?
*Right now I have the SteelSeries Artic's 9x which I was happy with until I started noticing issues. Clicking, disconnecting, not notifying me when the battery is low, and most annoying, not being able to walk 15 ft away from my Xbox before it disconnects.*

Which one did you choose? I also have the 9x. I don't like the sound too much of it. Also connection issues..

Hi bro, I'm looking for a new xbox headset, between the HS75x, nova 7x, Ls50x and 700 gen 2 max how would you rank them?
