However, if you dry fire often and put significant amounts of rounds through certain models of pistols you will see these issues for sure, its part of owning pistols. I have owned pretty much every type of CZ pistol since 1987 . With particular models you could experience firing pin retaining pin breakage and trigger reset/return spring breakage. Several after market kits provide upgrades which do provide longer life at inexpensive prices and enhance reliability.

This being your first handgun you should not believe all the hype out there that there are pistols that will not have issues. Maintaining pistols including springs is required especially at high round count. Dont delude yourself in thinking other pistols will not need maintenance. The trigger bar spring can wear and needs to be adjusted. A lot of people adjust that spring to make a trigger lighter and it’s not really needed by the way I’ve got way over 5000 rounds in one of my P0 sevens. I upgraded the springs after a couple thousand rounds and the firing pin retaining pin, and I’ve never had a malfunction of any kind through that firearm
@Buttbanging Trannyliberal I care about a duty handgun having parts break at the range. If it cannot hold up at the range then how will it do in the field
Consider talking to Cz about this issue? Considering the P09 has been used and is still being used as a duty weapon in both military and Leo applications in several countries, perhaps you hit one of the few lemons that can come out of any mass produced product. Hav several Cz models including a p09 with well over 5 k rounds and have had zero issues. Totally surprises me.
I experienced the same trigger reset issue. The real cause is the disconnector has too much play sideways, it blocks trigger bar from coming up/resetting. I was able to reproduce the problem when having the slide removed & tilting the frame to right when dry firing. Luckily this does not happen in live firing.
Thanks a lot for bringing out these issues. For me, unlike others here, dry firing or firing 5,000 rounds is not really abuse. This gun is supposed to be the one that I would buy, but now, I don't think so. I hope you make a review of other guns you have after this one.
Interesting and good information to share. I own this very pistol. And I've owned much higher-end CZs as well. I consider the brand superior to almost every other gun maker excluding SIG which seems better made than just about anything else.

No idea CZ USA. It's best to check everything, but I do a trigger job on everything and wought highly recommend the CZ 0.8mm lighter return spring, I pretty much polish everything and use compounds on parts that I don't want to fly off anywhere. I would highly recommend getting aftermarket parts from CZ or other CZ pistols company's in Chezia (or IMI parts of the fit) when I got mine I did a trigger job as in polished alot of parts but even internal parts, but on any CZ I replace the pin with a solid one with high tense strength. Not much work and less than 20 dollars in parts you can get these to some of the best pistols, But you realy don't want to mess with putting in lighter main and slide springs as that's when real problems start happening. As with any weapon, even AKs you should check the springs every so often and you should always clean any firearm you depend on after shootingx it does not take long, also use the correct lubricants. My stock P09 I am about 10k thru it. Went to the range today in fact. 300 rounds and not a hiccup. Only issue i have ever had was ammo related. Same ammo in another weapon caused the same issue. Most finicky 1911 I have. Is also the most expensive and tightest tolerances. Some ammo it will not cycle at all. Whereas a $400 Rock Island eats everything. AK v M16. AK runs through anything. M16 much less tolerant of conditions. But it is a better shoting more accurate platform than the AK is.
I’m trying to get clarification here. After you replaced the trigger return spring and firing pin positioning pin with Cajun Gunworks parts did you have any further problems? How many more rounds have you fired through the gun after installing the Cajun Gunworks parts? Before you had problems with the trigger bar spring was it removed or bent by you trying to tune it? Did you eventually replace the trigger bar support spring with a Cajun Gunworks part? Did that fix the issue? How many rounds have you fired after the repair?
Ngl to have to replace a few parts after 5000 rounds isn’t exactly the most unreasonable thing I’ve ever heard, many people replace barrels and or springs on guns after that many rounds imo
I was thinking of selling my Glock 34 and buy a CZ P09 SR😅. Thanks to this video I changed my mind. For Glocks the trigger return spring is the firing pin spring. So simple that it is almost perfect😅
It comes with a snap cap in the box for a reason. And anyone who puts that many rounfs through a pistol, would likely need to get it gunsmithed. No one else seems to have these issues with the P-09.
I am impressed with your round count. Plus dry firing... obviously time for a refresh. You must really like the gun or you wouldnt have so many rounds thru it. I'd never be able to fire a Glock that many times, I dislike that trigger. What is the factory warranty on CZ guns? Looks to be 5 years.....fyi.

5000 rounds is about the right time for a modern handgun show some aging, they are not made to last a lifetime anymore, all the CZ products have MIM internals and in MIM is not the same as a machined piece of steel, in MIM you get whatever they melted that day so durability and reliability is a gamble the experience going to be a divided opinion. I customized one with Cajun parts as well, works fine but I have only around 1000 rounds on it.
Yea..with all do respect you can't even tell if it's the gun or you. You said you've changed basically everything out in the gun to after market parts,( which is the #1 one reason good guns become unreliable from after market parts put in by shade tree gunsmiths. If you really watched his video 1st you would have known about the dry firing and the roll pin. So you apparently just did it anyways??? Yeah idk. But what we have here is a gun with all its stock parts out and the owner does exactly what your supposed to not do. Kind of hard to judge the gun itself at this point.
How does the slide stop pin look. I’d like to see. I’m up there on my round count and have no clue how many but it’s a bunch. My pin i very shiny and I can see some wear. Been thinking about buying an extra one and a extractor and guid rod spring
Even if you replaced the Firing Pin Positioning Pin ($5), Trigger Return Spring ($7), and Trigger Bar Support Spring ($3.50) every 5k rounds that’s only $15.50 total and 10 minutes to do. Easy
What standard do you have if this is your first gun? Opinions of a first gun owner are like shit, everyone had some! Stop putting after market parts in your fire arms and blaming a manufacturer. 5000 rounds and how many dry fires, 10k 20k everything wears out, springs pins slides! Replace worn parts, purchase a new gun, mostly stop giving opinions from ignorance, when you have five ten twenty years of gained knowledge, you might have something to share with someone!!
If you say "i replaced the trigger in my Glock to get a 3 lbs pull and a great reset" the response is... that's because Glock sucks. If you say "I replaced parts in my CZ because they broke the response is "how dare you doubt that CZ pistols are shit straight out of a unicorn's ars and shoot rainbows out of the barrel reliably." Oh and I own the p09 with a manufacturer date of 2022. No issues yet but MIM parts are a crap shoot and CZ doesn't make guns that are above challenge when one breaks. Oh and just to ensure that someone gets butt hurt... this would never happen with a Glock.
Apples to Oranges. This would never happen to a P10f or P10C either which are striker fired DAO pistols like Glock. I own Glocks and CZ's and the P10 series is literally just as good or better than Glocks for less money. Also, this kid just didn't know not to dry fire that model without snap caps or something. He straight admitted to dry firing that pistol a bunch and while yes the Glock won't have issues after 1000's and 1000's of dry fires without snap caps or something neither will the P10. To my knowledge almost all single action hammer fired CZ's can't handle being dry fired without dummy rounds or something to cushion the hammer to firing pin hit. Before there was Glock there was the CZ 75B and trust me that pistol is a tank.
The trigger spring in the p07 and p09 are a weak part in these guns. Yes he should have used snap caps to cushion to hammer fall but this part will still break eventually even under normal use. I have both and have replaced the trigger return spring in both, no dry firing without the included snap caps that came with the gun and I fired live rounds way more than dry fire. The point was that CZ fanboys defend CZ like someone insulted their mothers. ALL manufactures and ALL guns have something that could have been done better.
No disrespect intended, but if you abuse something over and over, it can't be expected to play nice. I fear that you'd have these issues with almost any handgun. It would be interesting to see you review another of your guns with the same round count put through it, and see where it stacks up.
I have a few Cz and this is never a problem very rare issue you had happen…ether contact Cz or go switch back to stock and take your problem up with Cajun gun works not Cz my man and not talked about because doesn’t happen only when swapping random parts in and out just go stock and won’t have a issue again
To add Cajun works has warranty’s on all these stuff as do Cz I think you just had a fluke or something else went on I hope it works out for ya but I’m over 10k and not a single issue on any of the 5 I own but there’s always a chance with any weapon any brand ya know..
Don't know why it seems odd. I've driven my car over 120k miles without an issue, others with the same make and model have had several issues with fewer miles on the odometer. Every gun is different, and some may malfunction sooner than others.
This is the exact reason I dumped the CZ P09 and 07 platform and switched back to Glock for EDC and HD. Sucks because I love the look, feel, and ergos of it.
I probably have a whole lot more rounds through those guns, including probably close to 10,000 rounds through P07. In addition of tens of thousands around through Glock platform. I find that the CZ P0 seven and P0 nine are just as reliable with almost 0 issues, and absolutely zero failures. If you know how to maintain them properly. I do know that some of them from time to time will show up that have timing issues. I have not experienced this myself in over a dozen guns.

You done something you're not telling us lol. Stop playing gunsmith when you dont know wtf you're doing smh
Im
Glad you said it
you have already reported this to the cz facttory .what did they say
Never had an issue with any of my CZ over the many years I have owned them...including my P-09. There are factors that have been left out here.
Do t blame the gun when you’re changing parts…. Send it into cz
No disrespect intended, but if you abuse something over and over, it can't be expected to play nice. I fear that you'd have these issues with almost any handgun. It would be interesting to see you review another of your guns with the same round count put through it, and see where it stacks up.
I was shooting some 9mm 115gr jhp rounds through my CZ P09 and it kept jamming. Can anyone explain why?
Some guns don't like certain hollowpoints. Gotta test different ammo.
@@Catgat37 yeah I figured out it was just the ammo.
It can be the recoil spring. 07 and 09 have pretty light springs.
I call Bollocks on this one !!
What I don't get is, if your spring is bent, why not get a new one? Once it's bent it's gonna cause issues.
Don't fuck with every aspect of a gun / leave it factory / it will run 100%
Seems odd. I have a 9 and a 40 and not one problem at all
Don't know why it seems odd. I've driven my car over 120k miles without an issue, others with the same make and model have had several issues with fewer miles on the odometer. Every gun is different, and some may malfunction sooner than others.
Not a fan of the tactical press check
This is the exact reason I dumped the CZ P09 and 07 platform and switched back to Glock for EDC and HD. Sucks because I love the look, feel, and ergos of it.
And I started having these problems less than a 1000 rounds in.
I have never had any of these issues and i had 12 at one time
@@rkpagano You have to shoot them to experience the failures.
Thanks for sharing. There are several commenters below who seem personally upset at you. Funny how people get so angry when another criticizes a gun they like
This is not common
get a p30, you won't regret it
Yeah brother , I have to say it’s a hell of a firearm . Sucks you had those malfunctions.
😂
DAAAMMNNNNNN. CZ-GO TO YOUR CORNER
