Ecclesiastes 9:5 "For the living know that they will die; but the dead know nothing, and they no longer have a reward [here], for the memory of them is forgotten"

This verse is talking about the body in the ground not the soul. That’s why the use earth references they no longer have reward here (earth) the memory of them is forgotten (earth) only the body and soul alive can receive these things on earth.

Well done. Derek Prince has lots of great content on the demonic spirituality fight. Highly recommend it.

One important thing we're forgetting is that God has the power to allow things to happen and to disallow. Samuel was dead yes but wd hv been with God in heaven. I think the Lord allowed this to happen for a reason. Saul was rebellious and God chose to intervene/ reveal his devastation in the way Saul chose. A witch cannot summon a soul that has passed on to be with the Lord. That's why this witch reacted in the way she did when she realized whom Saul wanted her to raise up. I also believe that witches/sorcerers can onely consult with lost souls who hv already gone to hell; but not only that, I believe that the demons can take the form of these lost souls bcuz they r around or familiar with the spirits of those who r already in eternal damnation. Demons can actually answer and impersonate.

Why do any of us consult darkness to find light?

    • @catsarefunny5696
      @catsarefunny5696 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Maybe because light came out of darkness? Darkness doesn’t come from light.

I felt John didn’t really answer the question at all. My understanding is that “the dead” that are consulted are in fact demons. However 1 Samuel 28 makes that a difficult position to sustain. But if Samuel really did come and speak to Saul, it raises the question, Why would God and Samuel be complicit in such an abomination?

doesn't the bible talk about the dead knowing nothing. I thought we couldn't actually talk to the dead. Aren't the demons/fallen angels the ones that for example, mediums talk to but think they're talking to the dead?????

I don't think it really matters if they know something useful for us or not. It doesn't really matter if we could actually talk to our loved ones that our dead - if God forbids it, if it's an abomination in His eyes, for us, as His children, that should be enough information to make the right call and not resort to mediums. His commands are perfect for all circumstances, He always gives us enough information to make the right decisions.

Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 is speaking about the dead with reference to activity and awareness "under the sun," in other words, things on earth. In this instance, Samuel speaks according to what God knows and has revealed to him.

It wasn’t Samuel, it was an evil spirit imposting as Samuel. The Lord was not with Saul, neither was Saul abiding in God for he was very disobedient, so Saul would not have the discernment to know if the spirit was Samuel or not. The Lord also said that He would not talk to Saul through prophets anymore because of Paul’s iniquity, so we know that it wasn’t the prophet Samuel. There are many indications that it couldn’t be Samuel. With this understanding, we don’t have to twist the scriptures as written in Ecclesiastes that the dead know nothing, for it is a consistent teaching in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Peace and Graces to you all in Jesus’ name.

Never try to invoke the dead, through any means. You'll only attach a demon to yourself. If you're lucky, and not a blasphemous idiot like i was, you might not, god might protect you. I tried numerous times, many years ago and i definitely caught somethings attention. It messed with me, in subtle ways, and not so subtle at times, for years.
    STAY AWAY from it.

As Christians we tend to call anyone into dark magic a witch. Because it’s all the same evil. There’s no need for us to categorize things of wickedness

Inthe name of ALLAH the most gracious most mercifull
    102. And they followed what the devils taught during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but it was the devils who disbelieved. They taught the people witchcraft and what was revealed in Babylon to the two angels Harut and Marut. They did not teach anybody until they had said, “We are a test, so do not lose faith.” But they learned from them the means to cause separation between man and his wife. But they cannot harm anyone except with God's permission. And they learned what would harm them and not benefit them. Yet they knew that whoever deals in it will have no share in the Hereafter. Miserable is what they sold their souls for, if they only knew.

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
      1. Alif, Lam, Meem, Saad.
      2. A Scripture was revealed to you, so let there be no anxiety in your heart because of it. You are to warn with it-and a reminder for the believers.
      3. Follow what is revealed to you from your Lord, and do not follow other masters beside Him. Little you recollect.
      4. How many a town have We destroyed? Our might came upon them by night, or while they were napping.
      5. When Our might came upon them, their only cry was, “We were indeed wrongdoers.”
      6. We will question those to whom messengers were sent, and We will question the messengers.
      7. We will narrate to them with knowledge, for We were never absent.
      8. The scales on that Day will be just. Those whose weights are heavy-it is they who are the successful.
      9. But as for those whose weights are light-it is they who have lost their souls, because they used to mistreat Our revelations.
      10. We have established you firmly on earth, and made for you in it livelihood-but rarely do you give thanks.
      11. We created you, then We shaped you, then We said to the angels, “Bow down before Adam;” so they bowed down, except for Satan; he was not of those who bowed down.
      12. He said, “What prevented you from bowing down when I have commanded you?” He said, “I am better than he; You created me from fire, and You created him from mud.”
      13. He said, “Get down from it! It is not for you to act arrogantly in it. Get out! You are one of the lowly!”
      14. He said, “Give me respite, until the Day they are resurrected.”
      15. He said, “You are of those given respite.”
      16. He said, “Because you have lured me, I will waylay them on Your straight path.
      17. Then I will come at them from before them, and from behind them, and from their right, and from their left; and you will not find most of them appreciative.”
