Many generations of men in my family have been beleaguered by alcoholism, anger, lust, low character and all that follows those traits I.e. divorces, broken homes, jail, betrayal, physical/verbal abuse and just a lot of pain and suffering. When I became saved one of the callings I felt on my time was to break these chains in my generation. I've made some good progress (actually the Holy Spirit has not me) and I still struggle at times, but I see the path Jesus has turned me towards and my son will be better off, and his son after him and so on. Anyone else struggling with these things remember you aren't alone if you are a Christian you are free from these bonds. Pray, read the scripture and renew your mind daily. Let's all pray for each other for increased faith and to know better our Heavenly Father today, Amen!

Struggle not; believe the promises more fully and be The Spirit more fully for the good sake of your son more full. Now is the chance for good to draw nearest to perfect in Christ. Much Heavenly love.

if you wander away, like I did for a long time, you can behave in very much the same way as either parent. Thats what I noticed. As for spells and stuff? I think they bounce off the Believer, in reality. I dont scoff at witches and such like. I treat them with respect, and hope they eventually find the Light. What is so sad in these days is that the Gifts of the Spirit are not eagerly desired, and if mentioned in some churches...they will stamp them out! years ago I looked at the Occult as an answer to my empty and pathetic life...glad I didnt get far with it. Bumped into the Gospel instead.

My grandmother, father, mom, and uncles all had serious addictions. My mother was abusive, promiscuous, an addict and a lover of money.
Because God loved me first, He directed my steps. By the time that I turned 16 God was a major staple in my life. I talked to Him for HOURS. I was called weird because I wasnt having sex, partying or smoking... I was an outcast. Smh.
Thankfully, because of God, I never gave in to peer pressure or temptations. My relationship with God stopped me from being kidnapped and murdered when I was 16.
At 20, I had a unknown man who stalked me but God always alerted me when that man was near and he could never gain access to me, thanks to Gods divine protection. Bottom line, I should be dead. But I'm alive because God loves me.
For that, I am forever grateful and faithful.

I pray the Lord sustains me to protect my little one, family of origin are sabotaging and toxic they succeeded in putting my mum in an early grave but it took me over 40 years of bearing with, long suffering, heartbreak and forgiveness to realise if I want to give my child any chance we have to leave all. I think it might be important to add, that God may be warning us here that our sins can strongly effect not only our own souls but also those of our children and hence their children. God through Christ has provided a remedy, but we must not forget that our sins have huge effects on others. Thanks.

I have seen in my own life where the foolishness of my parents rubbed off on me without me even knowing it. As a pagan I had taken on sinful traits that I had learned and was not even conscious of it. I was the proverbial fool and wasn't even aware of it. But the Spirit of God pointed me to Jesus Christ, That was 27 years ago and my life changed from that moment on. I can tell you the truth, if your in any relationship with the fool of the proverbs, whether it be a parent, a spouse, or a grown up child, my heart goes out to you and I know how difficult and frustrating it can be. The only hope the you can have is for the salvation of that person. The proverbial fool is stubborn, arrogant, perverse in that they will twist things you say. They are scoffing mocking abusive people. They love contention and quarrels and they believe that they are always right about everything. They are lovers of self and there are many who sit in churches and have know idea who Jesus Christ is. So pray your head off for these poor souls that God in His grace would redeem them.

That’s so true , especially because god says to “ honor” your parents so when they act opposite from right, you can definitely become influenced by their dark nature and this can make you feel so crazy. Some people are unfortunately exhausted by their parents prideful nature, that they give out and they just allow themselves to be influenced by it . Hopefully, when god comes to them through spirit and tell them that is not the way , they change 🤷🏾‍♀️

The gospel is love and judgment. Do not let this falling away from God's truth deceive you into thinking you can circumvent the fulfillment of the Law by the teaching of Jesus the Christ. You cannot justify male/female transformation into what science and pop culture has deemed progress. Nor can culture's or nations justify war by using righteous rhetoric. Lust was, is, and will be mankind downfall without acknowledging its long term consequence on all who try to justify it as righteousness. Continued lust bring sin, and unrepentant sin bring death. If this were not true, then why is Jesus the Christ returning for His righteous seed to reign and judge the wicked. God is love, but His created humanity is not. We , like the angels has to earn our eternity.🌅🤔✝️

With regards to the family with the dying child who thought they were cursed, my family and I personally went through tragedy after tragedy for years. I cried to the Lord and He's given me some answers. When in pain, we ask many questions. Are we cursed? Are we being punished? Does God still love us? Are we being tested? I had so many questions. God answered me, "all of the above". In the thick of it, when l began to doubt God's love, God reassured me in that He disciplines the children He loves. (Hebrews 12:7). Sometimes hardship is to strengthen us and/or will be used by God for good. (Genesis 50:19, Romans 8:28.) Sometimes, we will never know why a bad thing happened and we may be innocent. Look at Job. But God will use it to make us stronger and so we can comfort those who suffer after us.

I think it will become clearer the phenomenon of the father's sins passed on to his children when you look at it from the stand point of human relationships. The concept of internalized behaviours should throw in some light in that spiritual issue. Depending on where we place our deepest convictions (our "leaning on" in other words) our inclinations, thus, will take form. Our convictions usually take shape from experiences but my mistery is this: we don't only experience pleasure and pleasurable moments. We experience understanding and forms of thought. Anything that we understand (might be for good or for bad depending on the kind of understanding that we are holding) we start to experience [Genesis 3: 3-7]. So it leaves me with dozens of questions but the most important ones for me at the moment is on the nature of our moral inclinations. In light of the discussion of the topic in the video, our inclinations also depend on where we have our minds in the moment of facing and probably internalizing such conducts (in our parents in this case). The way we face such circumstances I could say. It, in the long run, could determine the effect it might have on our form of being. How God's Spirit may be revealed in the protection or "guarding" of our minds (hearts) is something that should interest anyone willing to discern who God is and His role in preserving people in faith. Of course to experience God and his greatness and kindness none of this is necesary. Just a pure and willing heart (He also conceeds that). But it is an interesting subject none-the-less. I know this is a public forum so take note that this is not for confusion. Just a personal inquiry.

    • @nicholas3354
      @nicholas3354 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Ivan Serrano If a pure and willing heart were "required" none would be saved. A pure and willing heart is given so we may enjoy All Divine Truth. Given is not required. I like your comment, I'm being a stickler but rightly so as it's key to remember that nothing is required and all is given and nothing is achieved save what The Lord does for His own glory. Blessed love to you in Jesus name.

So I want to offer my understanding of all of this about Generational Curses:
FIRST: GOD Himself is by far the Only One Who decides to curse anyone! No man or woman can curse another without God's allowance.
Those trustworthy, dependent men and women who EVER did NEVER cursed anyone to utter condemnation.
Any curse made by a man against another has only been indicated to be men of God's order - priests, prophets, deliverers, etc.
Such curses are responses to the evil done against them or God:
Noah cursed Caanan for the evil that Ham committed against him, his mother, and his brothers. That evil was both seeing his father's nakedness and not caring, but mocking him for it; telling his brothers in a dishonorable manner and taking the wife of Noah and raping her, impregnating her while either inside his father's tent or in his own. It is more likely in his own father's tent which explains how and why he saw his father's nakedness.
My understanding seems to tell me from Scripture, that his mother covered him or he took that covering. Either way, there was no covering for Noah - it had to be laid upon or taken.
When Noah awoke, either he was told by his children and wife or God told him in a dream. Therefore, the curse was made, and God agreed on it for the act committed against a righteous man and God!
Moses spoke a curse against those who sinned against Moses, Aaron regarding divine authority - Korah's partners and all their families suffered death by God's hand at the word of Moses because that word spoke exactly on behalf of God's concern and point of view of those men's rebellion.
Pharoah cursed male Hebrew children to death as a sentence. Many of those children were not killed but blessed and saved (Moses, Aaron, all the men of Israel who warred for God, etc)
Lot's wife was punished for her disobedience, but it ended there.
Lot's daughters committed a very ugly and shameful act against their father. One can say that such behavior trickled through both their family line due to incest and rape. Study Moab and Ammon and you can see how sinful they were as a people. It is a direct line of sin.
There are many more like this - all showing it is out of sin against God through an acf against his holy ones.
The children mocking Elisha received a curse for that act. But it was not generational.
Now, when it comes to sin like alcoholism, lust, sex addiction, it isnt to say it cant be a curse. If it is, it is most likely not a generational xurse like the one spoken against Caanan and Esau - these are generational curses. The ideas we have are often very strong carnalities out of sinful passions like lust, anger, bitterness, sloth, falsehood, etc. These are sinful acts that become traits out of practice not heritage. They become strongholds in our lives because:
We hear others often claim it is from a parent and often said either with pride or hatred or both (feminism, prideful attitude thought cute, a domineering speech also thought to be cute and appreciated and encouraged often by women, etc)
It is often promoted by various family members,
the child(ren) learn that behavior by emulation.
Parents train it in their kids
These sins are not spirits, but passions built on attitudes, perspectives, desire, carnality, weakness of enticement yielding and practice by household.
    They Are Not Demonic Possession!
For every woman out there, you are the biggest reason why this is so prevalent!
Yes, a person or family CAN be demonic vexed, hexed or possessed, but it is because of sin by God's allowance of it. The moment anyone of you hears the Gospel of Christ Jesus, believes on Him, repents and receives salvation - EVERY Ensarement of Sin is lifted off of You!!!
There is no half stepping in this!!! You are now owned by God in Christ through baptism of water and of the Holy Spirit!
You need not to be released from Generational curse, only to believe on Him that You are redeemed, forgiven and madeva chuld partaker of Christ in God forever more.
You are empowered by the Holy Spirit provided you remain in your original faith and continue to believe that Christ redeems and has redeemed you, makong you new over and over and over provided you pray by faith not by sight, believe He is Saving Lord, abide in Himself, in His word and live it out faithfully via denying yourself, picking your cross up to be crusified of the flesh daily and follow Him as a new born disciple, a new creation, indwelled, infilled, empowered by faith, Jesus, the fruit of the Holy Spirit wearing the Armor of God, being transformed by the renewing of your mind!
Hating sin, but loving righteousness more and more in Christ to the glory of the One who saves you and sustains you day and night!
You AARE NOT CURSED!!! YOU ARE SAVED!!! REDEEMED!!! FORGIVEN!!! RESTORED!!!
Though some acts of sin leave their mark in this life because thats the result of sin, but the curse of sin is the only curse we come under by which it is appointed once for humans to die and then either judgment where a second death of your soul occurs or the Beama Seat - reward or loss with salvation forever. And what a loss if our works are found to be wood, straw or hay.
God please let me have true good fruit - all of my reward!!!

From people I know who have worked in "deliverance" ministries....
Generational curses, etc. DO EXIST is the sense that the sins of your parents, grandparents, etc. can invite demonic forces into the household. This, in turn, can lead to spiritual afflictions for those in the home and blood descendants. The good news is that Jesus can break these chains. Many who are afflicted don't even realize they have issues that were invited into their lives by the actions of their parents or grandparents.

I am from a race/culture which has engaged in spiritual, demonic worship in the past and today. At one point in history, our race/culture was almost eliminated from the face of the earth. Yet, in God's mercy, some were spared. Now, that same worship is being brought back. I think the proof of our "near elimination" shows God's disapproval of that type of worship. Some being spared shows His mercy and love. So, I see the punishment for the sins of our fathers, God is sovereign. Yet, in God's great mercy and love, He has given this generation a chance to repent and seek Him through Jesus Christ. That goes for every race/culture. Don't go back to Egypt.

Your first mistake, thinking that God is a genie.
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, therefore, you are probably suffering now because you think of Him as a magic genie rather than a all powerful God that is to be feared.
Reframe your relationship with Him. Wisdom should be your goal and "things, husband, money, success, kids, wealth etc" should be the byproduct of said Wisdom not the goal.

Through His guidance and leadership which comes from scripture.
So I don’t have a step by step way of praying because I feel it won’t be genuine anymore because now I will be trying to “sound” like doing the right thing instead of speaking from the heart coming as I’m and you Jesus speaks against pretending to do something to please others.

My ancestors and relatives made alters with demons and spirits. Those spirits have preyed on my family and seeker to destroy us. Hiding and using my relatives to pursue their goals. God revealed this to my immediate family. We have seen with our own eyes his protection from the agents of evil. Glory be to God. Who has liberated my family. I pray the rest of my family defeats and break free from these demons.
I used to have atheist thoughts. But I have witnessed and experienced the power of God in my life and my sisters lives. They is no greater power or love. We are not worthy. But he loves and fights for us.

It seems that text refers to a specific curse of law which was also explained in verse 10 "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them.”. If we replaced the religious word "sin," with the non-religious word "behavior," it would keep us grounded, because those of us that were indoctrinated by religion, would no longer believe that a god existed that was spying and judging our every move and thought. The Bible is a Manual and refers for example to more detail about a kings victories and defeats that are written in the chronicals of the kings
By careful reading many misteries that are "hidden" in plain sight or are revealed in other parts of the scriptures.
The Holy Spirit also reveals meanings of certain texts - all we have to do is ask and/or listen to people like Pastor John - always check the facts.
We are all human. (No blunders found here)
The Bible also says that not all the miracles and teachings of Jesus were written up as the world won't be able to contain those books, let alone all the details about other events. Jesus also told his desciples that there are may misteries he wanted to reveal to them, but their hearts will fail them because of fear.
John often says in his letters that there are certain things he doesn't want to write about, but rather talk about face to face (Indications are that he never got a chance as he remained in prison on Patmos)
We are also told that some misteries are to be revealed at the end.
Our lives are too short to explore in depth what we have right in front of ouer eyes. Read and re-read.
God bless you on your journy as you seek the truth.

Christ forgives ALL our sins.. does that mean we don't ask forgiveness anymore? We are supposed to ask. looking at the verses he provided..... so when our ancestors have turned away from GOD, the results of it affect to 3rd and 4th gens...lev 26:40 says that they ask forgiveness for the sins of their ancestors and GOD forgave them...He then remembers the covenant made.. let's say the 3rd gen repented, and asked forgiveness, he will be forgiven.... becoz of the grace of GOD. The prob comes when familiar spirits who have no authority to be there; claims and create the same patterns in the family.... It is then we should renounce the sins of our forefathers. another thing is, some ancestors dedicate their bloodline to demons.... so if one of their descendants decides to accept Jesus, then the Devil will try to claim but he has no authority. Deliverance is needed in Jesus name. you westerners are too modernized that you do not know or abandon the spiritual side of the Bible. Go to the east and you can learn more.

Also, the choice of words correlates to the context of the moment. This is about the people worshipping idols. So as a legal statement to a nation and a spiritual statement to families it was the responsibility of the males. For us, in deeper significance, Jesus on the cross is that male, the only worthy one, and we are His bride.

I cannot site a single passage nor a handful to support my statement. We have the Holy Spirit Of All Truth so we are not limited by direct Scripture alone.
"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew unto you."
      -Yeshua Christ
      John 16: 13-15
Scripture is more focused on giving us what is needed to have faith and less focused on deeper transcendent understanding but such is rather given by guidance of The Holy Spirit.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?"
      Romans 10: 13-14
"So then faith by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"
      Romans 10: 17
We see that All-Truth comes by the Holy Spirit after faith, and faith comes by the word of God. To limit ourselves to excluding further guidance by The Holy Spirit is not Scriptural.
1 Corinthians 12 and Romans 12 address being one body many members, and the differences that make us many are cause for some truths to be taught, through Scripture yet with Spiritual guidance unto deeper insight. The insight I have offered is Scriptural, but it's not based in any one or few specific points of Scripture which I can quote for you.
Another limitation people often insist (I'm not saying you do) is to claim that learning which is necessary for Salvation is the only relevant learning. At the beginning of Hebrews 6 we see the author states He is going beyond the rudiments of Christ and on toward perfection. So what I'm getting at is to not assume limits wrongfully.
Understanding transcendant spiritual definitions of male and female is not so essential, but to trust the promise of Christ in John 16: 13-15 is very essential and important. I encourage you to fully believe that promise because Christ spoke it, thus the Holy Spirit will not be limited unto you by limited belief, and The Spirit will guide you into all Truth.
I know I didn't address the direct topic, but far be it from me to do so, for such is in the power of The Holy Spirit. If I could justify my insights with few enough words in short enough time I would gladly, in this case I cannot; yet that which is spiritual is far beyond the limits of words. Israel is adopted as a son to the Father and is also bride to Christ, yet what man marries his own brother? We see that spiritual truths transcend earthly descriptions. If you would like to have assured deeper understanding of this exact topic The Holy Spirit Of All Truth will guide you in His way and in His time. I will say Israel has a spiritual form as male adopted son and a physical form as female Church and bride of Christ, so that is one Scriptural basis to this.
The Scriptures don't contradict but rather Scripture teaches transcendence, which in physical terms is contradiction, and this points us beyond the physical as we believe Scripture fully. Maybe my explanations here are rather flawed, but Scripture explains all perfectly if we will believe it fully and apply it fully and accept transcendent teaching.
Carol, we are reborn not earthly but heavenly spiritual beings. John 3 and 1 Corinthians 15.

      -Yeshua Christ
      John 4: 24
Anyway, I'm not attempting to or expecting to convince anyone, but I'm speaking honestly and leaving it be in Christ's hands. As for definitions of spiritually-male and spiritually-female, I'm not aware of any direct and straightforward discussion in Scripture. I like to understand spiritual Scriptural vocab so I have meditated and thought on the matter looking to The Spirit Of Truth to guide me.
If the paragraph you mention is the first in my reply to you then you speak of my claim that we are not limited by direct Scripture alone. What does The Spirit Of Truth do if direct Scripture alone is our limit? The Spirit is not direct Scripture; so to include The Spirit, direct Scripture is not alone. There may be nothing in Scripture spelling it out in such a way, but The Spirit Of Truth would be excluded by direct Scripture alone and we know He is not excluded; rather Christ teaches that The Spirit is especially forefront.

Why does he not give every human a pure heart to begin with like Adam and eve. Since sin came into the world for every human through the actions of Adam and eve Why do we not all get the same chance and instead have to be under the blanket of curse and sin That they put over all of us.
I just don't think it's fair that because Adam and Eve made a mistake that all of humanity doesn't get the same chance to correct it. Like we aren't born in the garden of Eden where God gives us the chance to eat the fruit or not. So I find the fact that God states he's perfect to be extremely hypocritical

@Bob Larson... The Real Exorcist! describes generational curses in a way that you may be able to understand. God doesn't punish us, but satan uses the sins of our ancestors to open a door to demonization. Pick up curse breaking also by Bob Larson. God bless!

Biblically speaking, a curse is a punishment from God, so anything that Satan tries to do is not rightly called a curse, but merely spiritual warfare and temptation.

Children do pay for the sins of the father (Parent) Some of you Pastors keep hiding the truth from people. Have you ever observed that a mother who lives a certain lifestyle, you will also notice that the daughter lives the same lifestyle even though she tries not to, and if you do research, you will discover that the grandmother also lived the same lifestyle. And when the bible talks about the son will not be punished for the father's sin, and the father will not be punished for the son's sin, it was talking about a crime that the father committed or a ceime that the son committed. Please teach people the correct thing.

Christina Pochna Our jealousy dwells upon us - how is this situation or person "inflicting" us. Gods' jealousy is ultimately for our own good - He knows what's best for us, that our eternal lives are obviously best suited if we put Him first in our earthly lives, ie. excepting Christ as your Lord and Savior so you will spend eternity with Him in Paradise.

Sadly, the words jealousy and envy are used interchangeably these days - which is erroneous. Envy is the inordinate desire for things which aren’t yours to begin with, wishing that you’d rather have it, than its rightful owner. Jealousy, on the other hand, is simply the sense of emotional attachment, attributed to actual romantic love (and yes, there is an element of it in Scriptures - think of the bride of Christ).
If you have seen American Beauty, recall that scene when Lester Burnham (played by Kevin Spacey) is asked where his wife is, and he shrugs his shoulders, nonchalantly saying “well, whatever. Probably ****ing with that real estate king.” Sure, he isn’t jealous. But what does that tell you about his love for his wife?
So unlike this character, God actually loves you - if you are capable of ever loving Him back, while you’re still alive.
At least you are expressing curiosity rather than blank indifference - which means there’s a good chance you may.

The 7 deadly sins are not in the Bible. That is from Catholicism. It does not mean they are not bad nor are they not sins but as they are grouped as the 7 deadly sins is not Biblical.
Yes God (Yahweh another one of His names) is a jealous God. But keep in mind what the definition of jealousy in the KJV is. Covetouness is a sin very similar to jealousy but is more in line with the nature of the sin of envy(as one of the 7 deadly sins). God does many things for His names sake. 2 King 19 and Isaiah 37 ( He rescued. Jerusalem from Assyria)
Edit: Jealousy as defined in old (KJV) is desiring what is "righteously" yours. Therefore God is jealous for what is righteously His. Such as His land that He promised to Jacob and his descendants (Ezekiel 38 & Zechariah 12 to 14). Such as the true worship of the people He fought for in Egypt (Exodus 12) and the church He purchased on the cross (Colossians 1)

Christina Pochna The Truth of The Heavenly Most High Divine Father cannot be expressed in words. Jealousy in Him is not as in us. The fact that there is one reality, one God, one Truth, this is a fact and it's the definition of monotheism. God's jealousy is a natural expression of the fact that He is The Only and if we pretend another we live in darkness with all it's consequences.
