My best guess for why Condiment King is in this holiday special specifically: Harley found out who the original guy was, liked the idea so much, sought him out, and forced him to come to the party via some form of blackmail.
I think the main takeaways are that the art was really nice, Ty's still really good at emulating the TNBA models. I personally don't like the way the stories make no sense in the timeline, it all just feels like they didn't care and, weirdly enough, that the fans remember more than the writers do (that Nora Fries being dead thing is too hard to ignore, and let's not even get started on the Jason problems). I really wish that we got a serious Adventures Continue story that takes the old tie-in comics canon and makes it work with JL/JLU and so on. I feel like the tie-in comics of the past had so much to build off of and draw from, especially with the 17 issue Adventures book. Besides that one, I actually like some things about the tie-in comics more than the cartoons, like getting more down-to-earth Superman stories or more on-going narratives in the Bat-verse (and including characters like Huntress and Deadman) and the way Gotham Adventures made the Bat-Family's dynamic healthier than the animated series (they overdid Dick's resentfulness). Now that they are being released as TPBs it's not anymore inaccessible for DCAU fans than the mainstream DC comics are for new comers. So there's really very little reason to not get familiar with the tie-ins and give the fans what they really would want.
Well the good thing about no Nightwing is that they didn't throw in another spurious hairdo that contradicts the "hair timeline" and force you through some admittedly funny mental gymnastics.

Mainly due to the family aspect of both having daughters at some point and both keeping them in secret. Ivy and Kite was honestly stable until the writers decided they weren’t. Essentially Harley and Ivy are a fetish couple born from a ironic sense of humor plus a hint of “progress” nothing more and nothing less.

Feeding the algorithm. I started watching the movie Rampage today, starring Dwayne Johnson, an actor mentioned in today's episode in relation to the word jabroni. In the movie he communicates with an ape in sign language. I haven't finished the movie yet so I don't know if it's ever said aloud, but so far no one has vocalized the fact that when he gives his name in sign language, it's the sign for "rock".

Got me thinking about how cool it would be to see Baby Doll in the Harley Quinn show. She only ever had one episode in the DCAU after her debut and the only villain she interacted with was Killer Croc, but she had so much potential. Harley's got enough personality that she can interact with any character and make it interesting, but I think with Baby Doll specifically it'd be cool to see her psychological damage being unpacked by Harley, especially if there's still a failed relationship with Killer Croc in that version of the canon that Harley can relate to her own experiences. Her and Clayface being struggling actors could also be a source of an interesting dynamic. Like, maybe they're both terrible actors constantly pursuing parts they're all wrong for. Or maybe Mary has unrecognized talent and loathes Clayface because with his powers she could've been a serious actress and feels like they're being wasted on a talentless imbecile. Maybe Mary would even try to bodyswap with Clayface or recreate his accident or something. Or maybe Harley would make her realize that her condition can be an asset too. She just has to shift her focus from roles that call for "adult" actors like Lady MacBeth and toward parts like "child vampire", "extremely long-lived alien/elf species", "child robot", "possessed doll", "evil Leprechaun", or "the girl from Orphan, aka a dramatization of her real life".
About Keri: There was a Keri Kowalski who was apparently an editor at DC Comics who worked on a volume of Nightwing and Deathstroke the Terminator. Given that Gotham has a lot of references to DC Comics creators, could that be it?
The minute I read her name was "Eileen Kwan" I was like "Hey, that's eerily similar to 'Harleen Quin(zel)'." I guess Ivy has a thing for women whose names sound like Harley's.
BTAC had a lot stacked against it because as we've seen from Batman and Harley Quinn, just because one of the creators returns doesn't mean it'll all work out perfectly. Dini, Timm, Burnett, all of them need to come back together. The DCAU was nothing if not a collaboration, and the only way it'll return to greatness is to put all the collaborators in the same room again.

The Thin Man features a scene in which former detective Nick Charles does trick shots with a BB gun, shooting balloons on his tree. One trick shot has him use a mirror while facing the opposite direction like Harley
I figured there was a much more specific reference to the movie than that mirror scene, but Google didn’t help me out too much. Didn’t bother to look into it more, haha.
