I lost one of my best friends in Sept. of 2021 (42 years old). He was a John Denver fan and they played this song at his funeral. Learning this song and singing it last night in my office was not easy... I couldn't even get through the entire thing.
I miss him dearly. Thanks for the lesson so I can get this song down even better.

I grew up in Iraq during a very dangerous time in my childhood and as i grew into a teenager the fear was still there even though things settled down and it was safe to go out ,so i spent most of my teen years just going from home to school and back witout going out much and i spent my free time painting and learning to play guitar so thank you for being such a good teacher one of the few teachers on TH-cam who gave thoses years of my life a purpose and made me feel ok

for the strumming pattern on this song i would actually recommend strumming down the bottom string, then then next, then full strings and back again. so e string, g string, full strum, e string, g string, full strum
I bet this year when Marty made this video, he was amazed that almost a couple days after this video, this song was played in an advertisement for Fallout 76. That advertisement is actually what got me into this song.
I started guitar lessons 3 months ago and just started to learn this song. Glad I found this video which has the same chords I’m learning. I like how you breakdown each section of the song so I could easily follow.

It's Mike again I'm at work I've been watching the country road lesson when I get off I practice at and night some I have a Yamaha transacoustic and also have a welding the trans acoustic sounds like a 12-string it takes batteries I want to learn how to play mr. Bojangles I want the Jerry Jeff Walker version Capo on the 2nd fret so maybe you could teach us that I've been watching some other guy play it there's several videos for it but I pretty much learned more from you than anybody
