As an older gent still existing in an ever changing world, it's refreshing to see a mainly younger generation group that can interpret a song written well before they were born, re-arrange it in a bluegrass style, but perhaps even adding more feeling and emotion than the original. I've said this before, but watch these folks perform very carefully. This is how it's done. No amplifiers, no dancers, no fancy stage effects, no auto-tune. Just a lot of talent and hard work doing something they clearly love. You can tell they're having fun too. And whoever does their arrangements - great job!!

My family used to sit around singing and playing. Dad is in the heavenly choir now. Mom played any instrument, but now sits and listens what little she can as she looses her hearing and already lost her sight. Watching this brings back memories, smiles, joy, and tears.

I'm impressed and pleased at several levels so I don't know where to start. I'm a bit puzzled. I grew up in Hollywood and the music industry in LA. I'm an engineer and a musician, and have some idea of what it takes to produce a recording of this quality. Yet, I don't see all that stuff here in the video. And, it's obviously not a lip-sync. Yet, it sounds amazing -- stunningly good -- jaw dropping. All the instruments are present. The vocals are perfect. The performance is flawless and the engineering perfect. These days, I'm retired and living in West Virginia. Imagine that. And, I've been a fan of this song since the 1970s. So, just wow! This performance is superb. Until now, the best performance of this song I'd ever heard was when John Denver did this as a duet with Mama Cass Elliot, who is the ultimate expert at harmonizing with another singer. Now, there are two performances that are in first place. You guys are amazing. There's so much garbage being sold as "music" these days, you give me hope and make me very happy. Please continue.

I've worked in television audio up here in Toronto for over 40 years and have worked for all the major US and Canadian networks; thousands of live audio projects and this piece definitely stands out. I'm thinking a very expensive console, perhaps a NEVE with extremely high precision mic preamps, recorded in a professionally treated room by someone with producer type hearing. Member of AES, SMPTE, SBE, ASA. A lot of care and good planning went into this, not to mention the super talent of these young people.

Awesome version, John Denver would be proud of this. My mother was an alcoholic in the late 70's,and when she was on a bender, she would play this until she passed out. She passed away in 1984. I hated the song for 30 years, but in the past 10 years have grown to embrace the words, and enjoy the songs message as a 60 year old.

It ain't easy! The coordination/doing two things at once part is fine, but if you get off key on one or the other, it's very tricky to figure out which one's wrong and then fix it. Looks like what she's doing is fairly straightforward, though- open strings, then off beats. Not to knock Katie, I think she's a fantastic singer and fiddler.

Went to Italy out in the Hills of Tuscany and this bunch of tatted up biker gang looking brothers start g singing this in the restaurant and it bought goose bumps and we were all raging after that! What a memory
This style of natural singing and clear harmonies are a breath of fresh air. So many girls and women on TH-cam try too hard to sound like Shakira or Britney Spears, with a weird and unnaturally narrow mouth, nasal accent that is so prevalent in pop music today. It ain't easy! The coordination/doing two things at once part is fine, but if you get off key on one or the other, it's very tricky to figure out which one's wrong and then fix it. Looks like what she's doing is fairly straightforward, though- open strings, then off beats. Not to knock Katie, I think she's a fantastic singer and fiddler.
